I did it with a technique called masking. Those 2 videos explain it in a simple way in a short time:
With the stop motion studio app, like I did: czcams.com/video/G4NqIcnA55E/video.html
and on video editing programs where it's way easier, but the laptop I used for my video wasn't strong enough for good results, but this method is way less tideous and looks better: czcams.com/video/WrIbOpgRiFQ/video.html
You can unfortunetely still see the bricks I used to make the characters float because it was the first time I used this method frequently in one of my videos. If you have more questions, feel free to ask! :D
