Correct. Min wage workers with no skills and no ambition to learn one are the only people at risk of homelessness. I am a retired pharmacist and I will not be homeless. Your future depends on the decisions you make when young. Stop blaming others for some peoples lack of ambition and work ethic.

If I need to be confined to an abusive nursing home I’m tapping out. Homelessness is something I could deal with as long as I’m healthy enough to take care of and watch out for myself.
I care for a family member and likely will lose more than just my loved one when they pass. Every time they go for care in a facility, I lose my job, but must be there to take it back as soon as they can be sent home. It's difficult to understand just how precarious a situation has become that seems to have started out with the best of intentions and the most necessary response to family in need, but has become a threat upon their passing. I have prepared a bit for the future I expect, while still searching for and trying out anything that might change this course. I'm starting to see that very few people see homelessness as the consequence of their current path and are just sure that someone else will step in and change it. I do believe we are on our own, together, and I wish everyone well on this collectively singular journey. Thanks for speaking about this, and Happy 4th.
And nursing home will find out exactly what one owns monthly income and everything. They will basically leave you with $50 a month if you're lucky. Prices vary based on assets and income. They operate similar to funeral homes.
Always better to be prepared than to be blindsided. And I can tell you some of the smartest and best workers we have are being deliberately laid off and excluded. If you can get a piece of land and go homeless, you can always make your way to your land and build something yourself with minimal expense.
From my experience, people who make a lot of money spend more money than they make. My father had colon cancer, and the treatment cost $600,000, he had insurance, and his job covered it. He had good insurance. Everyone doesn't have good insurance, some health insurance may only cover like 50%, 60%, 70%, etc. You aren't fearmongering, you are being real. : )

People who are not homeless, never think about these strange ideas. Just go to school and learn a skill instead of whatever you did when you were young.
Get ready the Rich opress the poor.

'FOURTH REICH of the RICH' by Des Griffin. This book is informative and frightening.
Only people whose wages don't rise with inflation. If you have a skill or product where you can pass cost increases off to customers, you are golden.
Many skilled workers are being sidelined if they are American because business thinks they are too expensive.

Do you know how much it cost to run a nursing home for medical care people in this day and age? Are you suggesting that should be free?
