    If I were in the market for a vehicle, I would definitely consider your dealership. Your videos exude integrity to me. Wish there were more dealers like you.

    Picked up an XLT with Lux @ Long McArthur and drove it to Denver… didn’t notice any issues with bed liner noise.

    I'e never had any noise. Once thing to always remember about drop ins ben liners: Drop in bedliners will protect against denting when hauling. Spray in bedliners will not.

    I wonder if the noise problems are with the bathtub type one piece? I have no problem with 2024 EcoBoost XLT Lux with the 5 piece “drop in” liner. I love my Maverick. ❤

    Great information as always. Confirms that my wife and I definitely want a SIBL swap when our XLT comes in.

    No noise from mine. I plan on leaving the sides, front panel and gate panel and replacing just the actual bed floor panel with a rubber type non-slip floor liner that can pull out.

    We will have the SIBL on both of our XLT Mavericks. We don't intend to change them. Do wish we could have had a choice.

    It would have been funny if you drove every Maverick on the lot checking for noise

    I am still waiting for what was originally a 22. GOOD NEWS- built last week and shipped. Hybrid XLT LUX AND COPILOT alto blue. Lost along the way - color, spray in, sliding rails, keypad, wiper deicer. That’s a lot of stuff. 2 private offers. Over 2 and a half years.

    Another great video! I cannot wait to see the SIBL after its installation (follow-up video?).
    I prefer a thicker-than-factory SIBL. Thus, I ordered my XLT Maverick without a bed liner and had a local Line-X dealer install a Premium (thicker) SIBL after taking delivery.
    I bought a DIBL (cheap) that someone removed from their Maverick. I helped him remove it so I knew how to install it in my son's XLT Hybrid. I strategically placed thin weatherstripping to help reduce any potential for rattling and minimize moisture/dirt getting in under the loadspace cover (base).
    By the way, I discovered the cleats on the side panels near the cab must have been added later. The used DIBL I bought didn't have cutouts for them. I had to cut a hole out of the DIBL I purchased to install the two front cleats.

    Cuts both ways. I've had an inexperienced spray in liner guy/company tool on my 2007 F150. The guy forgot to tape off drainholes. Everytime it would rain with my truck parked outside I'd have a hot tub worth of water in the thing (parked at an incline). Needless to say Its rust central now. I'll see how the lux package drop in goes, I'd rather have water get in and have a way to escape my new truck, then just get in and stay. I'll report back after a year or so.

    @3:35 Tim, the older version of the bed liner had a different adhesive piece that was a lot smaller. The adhesive tape was also smaller and as a result, the tape fails and the front section comes off. I checked with my dealer and they say the part number is the same so I don’t have any option to get a replacement part. Do you know anything about this?

  • @clarenceroller7897
    @clarenceroller7897 Před 6 měsíci

    My noise comes from the doors/windows. I have a First Edition hybrid with window vent shields. I'm going to take those off first hoping that is the problem, if not then I'll have to see about taking the inside door liners off and see about sound proofing them. I have never liked drop in liners, I had a spray liner put in my 94 F-150 and never considered anything else. Another good show with good weather but the weather man says a nasty one is coming at us. Tuesday night show is inside so you don't have to wear a rain suit!

    Ever since I knew I wanted a maverick, when it was time to finally order it (and before they announced the changes for the 2024 model year) I was gonna get an XLT with a black appearance package, XLT lux package and SIBL, in Alto Blue. The drop in liner kinda forced my hand to do the upgrade to the Lariat trim so that at least the spray in would be standard equipment with the lariat lux package. Though now that I own a lariat maverick I’m glad I made the upgrade. But I do agree, ford should just leave it up to the customer on what bedliner, if any, they want to choose. In other news, any word on the next maverick meet up?

    I think the DIBL and the spray in are just personal choices. I actually prefer the DIBL because by myself i can place heavy boxes in the bed and slide them forward to add more or I can strap them down if just a few. The spray in bedliner will scratch a bike up unless you put a cover or something on top of the bed and who wants to do that?

  • @steeltrident
    @steeltrident Před měsícem

    I have a 23 XLT Maverick. I ordered it with 2 options, copilot 360 and the hitch so I don’t have any sort of bedliner.
    I’d like to get something just haven’t decided between the drop in, spray in, bed rug or just getting a $40 stall mat at rural king and cutting it to fit the bed.
    I appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly cover the pros and cons of the different solutions.
    One question, what do you do with the removed drop ins?

    • @longmcarthurford
      @longmcarthurford  Před měsícem

      Usually throw them away. We don't have people wanting the drop-ins or we just order them a new one from Ford. Customers usually don't want a used one.

    The DIBL was the deal breaker. I seriously wanted heated mirrors but I will not live with a DIBL. I remember when they first came out. A salesman put it on his demo. When he went to switch it to his new demo it was a sight to behold. Paint off in several areas along with surface rust in several areas as well. All that dust that you saw underneath acts like sandpaper with the vibration. One the older ones or full size it rode on the lip. The same thing happened there as well. So he had to leave it in or come up with 1500 to do the bodywork and that was in the 80's. Another thing you touched on was how things slide. Heavy items especially are difficult to secure safely. Worse yet a little snow, water, frost or condensation it's slipperier than ice. If your getting in the bed it's like taking your life in your own hands. It's not safe at all, it's kind of shocking they still make them at all.
    I agree leave them out of the package or at the very least allow the consumer to upgrade to the SIBL for the difference price between the two. Better yet don't even offer or sell the DIBL because of the liability. 0:21

    not sure what his motive is for dissing the drop on liners, they are awesome way more protection than a spray in, go to the Maveric discussion forum to get the bottom line, do your own research, lol on the tail gate rattle, if it rattles it isn't installed properly
