    Thank you for this tutorial, please make more videos about making families with nested components and parameters

      You’re welcome! I will do that, there’s a lot that can be covered with families.

    This what I was looking for to learn Basic Family . You have explained very clearly. You are very good to teach. Keep it up

    Thanks man, great videos.
    - Can you make a video about how different parameters work in Revit? Which one is good for what, how they work with schedules, etc.
    - Another idea for a video is to cover how formulas work in connection with parameters...

      Thank you, I am glad you enjoy them. I could do my best to make an intro to parameters and an intro to formulas video!

    Great video. I am new to Revit. I am a mechanical engineer (large mining equip and such) but my new job has me working in Revit to design conveyor layouts and 3d models. If you have an advanced Families video with nested families I would be very interested to see it. In the mean time I will be watch more of your vids (and smashing that like button)

      Ahh very good and welcome to Revit! Happy to help for sure. These are the closest thing to an advanced family video I have for you:

    Great video, can you explain why creating a shared parameter post creation causes the length to change to the family length instead of retaining the modelled length. Also why does a shared parameter not always show the length in a schedule. The reason for asking is that I changed an existing family from project to shared but the length parameter didn’t show n my schedule.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 3 lety

      I believe the issue may have to do with changing from a project to shared parameter, not 100% on that though. I will say as of revit 2022, shared parameters will not show in schedules.

    Very good clip. Thanks Have you done a clip for a door family to apply a swing element?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 4 lety +1

      Are you just looking to change the swing of the door in plan? I can do a video about that.

    hi there, very good video, i have a problem, am not able to join any created family with any element in project. do you know why?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 4 lety

      That’s just unfortunately the way it is. There is no way to join from a family to system elements in Revit. What are you trying to join?

    • @samisaab2119
      @samisaab2119 Před 4 lety

      Tapered footing to raft

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 4 lety

      I gotcha, I assume the tapered footing is your family? I dont think there is a good way to get these to join just it being a family.

      @@ArchitectureVanguard thanks . you are completely correct. and i keep watching your videos. they are clear, and straight forward towered information.

    Constructive criticism, try to normalize your volume with other videos on youtube, I had to turn up my volume on youtube, and on my pc just to hear you.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard

      I agree, I have improved the audio as of late but could always use some normalizing. Thanks
