  • Barkha Dutt speaks to Dr Salvatore Babones, associate professor of sociology at the University of Sydney, on PM Modi's US Visit. Babones who has often passionately defended India's democracy amid a global debate around whether it has diminished, said that "Biden did not actually endorse India's democracy when asked a question.. the Biden government is "not as Pro India as we may think".
Responding to questions about how the Modi government should respond to Western Media opeds and questions from US Lawmakers, 70 of whom urged Biden to raise the issue of democracy with Modi, Babones said "Modi government should not be defensive, it should go on the offensive; it should engage with the criticism, it has done poorly on engaging with its international image in this regard"

Barkha, why isn't there any hindu MLA, MP from Owasis party? Don't recall you ever questioning the other side of the fundamental issues.. Most Muslims in India would have never visited any ancient Buddhist, hindu monuments, but most hindus don't shy away from visiting numerous mughal etc buildings to learn about the history... Please accept that there is this hardcore islamist values which prevent millions from joining the mainstream of the Indian society.. Those who rise above manage to do well for themselves.. Thats a fact which can be validated..

Islamists are absolute nutters. As are fundamentalists of any religion. But why should Barkha ask Owaisi why there’s no Hindu representation in his party in a overwhelmingly Hindu majority society? Question would make absolutely no sense because representation is a issue specific to minorities of all types in every democratic society. It would be like asking a black-only party during the American civil rights movement why there’s no white representation. That’s because minorities (not just religious minorities) are the ones fighting for rights and representation. It would be equally stupid to ask a Hindu/Christian/queer community in the middle east or Pakistan why there’s a lack of Muslim representation. Because in those places the entire country is Muslim, stupid. Why do bhakts not understand nuance?

The vast majority of muslim opinion makers are Ashrafs and will do everything they can to prevent the ajlaf/ arzal from joining the national mainstream . This is very similar to Jat Sikh khalistani propagandists who claim to speak for all Sikhs but are pushing forward the agenda of the jat Sikh landowner entitled elite caste.

Unfortunately American mainstream view of India is skewed to the hilt. India's conservative traditional parties are more liberal than the American conservatives. In Indian context conservative party will be terms extreme conservative and democratic party as an centrist. What are you talking about ? Indians are more diverse than a monolithic two party rule and more diverse than a two language in United states...English and maybe spanish to a certain extent. Does that mean Americans are discriminating people based on linguistic basis and political freedom ? Its anybody's guess. If you are a frog in a well, you are always a frog. The democracy in India has imbibed the tradition of checks and balances. It has helped the country survive during tumultous times.

I will quote it here, "The Liaquat-Nehru Pact (or the Delhi Pact) was a bilateral treaty between India and Pakistan in which refugees were allowed to return to dispose of their property, abducted women and looted property were to be returned, forced conversions were unrecognized, and minority rights were confirmed." How many Sikh and Indian women in Pakistan have been forcibly converted? Does this Pakistani-American reporter not know about this? I think its a waste of time trying to earn brownie points with the US or indeed the west. In the end, they are imperialist powers. We Indians are not. So why waste time trying to score points on a system that is completely unfair anyways? Grab the investments both tech and funding and build. On the point of Indians getting "Rich" becoming attractive that is the single most problems with Indians. If they are wealthy then who cares about the meaning of life. Desperate poverty is the driver in India whereas the rest of the Western world other things are sometimes more important. All I am saying here is that you lost an opportunity to seriously engage on points counter to yours. For every data point Dr Babones brought up, you brought up a minimum of two to counter his. Barkha remains biased and bitter for her loss of relevance. When the data is against her proposition she turns to anecdotes to reiterate her biases. She remains our own resident Hinduphobic. Rana Ayub.

Why do Barkha and her kin not come out of their obsessions

It is quite probable that Billion dollars of Soros could translate into one question of WSJ at the press conference. If that could be the case it is not a bad performance for the eco system he has created.
Ms. Dutta chose one questionfrim the plenty of the great achievements. Likewise, this eco system can pick up the truth only if they want to. Like, the famous weapons of mass destruction.
The problem of this eco system is not the democracy in India. It is Modi.
Unfortunately for them, Modi has no interest in their opinion of him. He cares only what country gets. He exactly knows what Democrates think of him. His focus is only the business. And, that's precisely why does not engage himself at any level in this argument.
Opinions will evaporate. The truth only prevails.

Dekh, we already divided the country once to solve your problems . even if we divide India again , I can guarantee that there will be demand for another division in 100 yrs.
Your types can be easily weaponised by anybody willing to meddle in India. That's the real issue.

Where the Muslims are not happy:
      They're not happy in Gaza.
      They're not happy in Egypt.
      They're not happy in Libya.
      They're not happy in Morocco.
      They're not happy in Iran.
      They're not happy in Iraq.
      They're not happy in Yemen.
      They're not happy in Afghanistan.
      They're not happy in Pakistan.
      They're not happy in Syria.
      They're not happy in Lebanon.
      They're not happy in Indonesia.
      So, where are they happy?
      They're happy in Australia.
      They're happy in England.
      They're happy in France.
      They're happy in India.
      They're happy in Germany.
      They're happy in Sweden.
      They're happy in the USA.
      They're happy in Norway.
They're happy in almost every country that is not Islamic!
And who do they blame [for their unhappiness]?
Not Islam...not their leadership...not themselves... They blame the countries in which they are HAPPY! And they want to change the countries in which they're happy, to be like the countries they came from, where they were unhappy.
Try to find logic in that.

She talked about hate speeches given by the Hindus factions, but conveniently ignored hate speeches given by muslims and that show her true colour.
What madni said infront of all other religious preacher was not hate speech? What Akbaruddin said about genocide of Hindus was not hate speech? What others maulvis and Maulana say about Hindus are not hate speech? This lady would be exposed by me within 2 minutes if she agrees to have debate with me with proper evidence.
