I run the team spec 1800 on 3s. My pinions a 13 tooth on portals through an axial transmission. That setup is so smooth and all torque. I dont have much wheel speed but for what i do its perfect.
If your gonna do the mullet with this setup, underdrive the front, 9verdrive the rear, and if you use a transmission with 30% OD and send it to the rear acpe youll end up around 40-46% OD.
Ah reefs collabed with another Chinese rc company to slap their name on someone else product again. I have a couple of these transmissions, but mine came from China, which I bought them about a year ago.
I happen to know the owner of a hobby town in Corona CA and they know Shareef of Reefs very well....they say he's gotten way to big for his britches......everyone is a sell out for Chinese RC products and I'm buyin' 😂
@ExocagedRC the dlux portal trans, weighs in at 36.5g and comes left or right output. they have an ultralight as well thats 29.5g!!!!! I run the portal in a capra based IERC empire kit and its reallly nice. check them out Exo!!! Really good stuff! Great video brother!!
I dont think the lack of over/underdrive is a problem like you said you can get a lot just in the axles gears alone. Im a 2 low guy but when you weighed them both it really showd how much smaller it was than the already small 2 low. I can see that being a huge selling ooint
I was thinking both wheels needed to make a full rotation to get an easy to convert number. I guess you could say if they kept going it would have been 2 :1 which in my head is 100% since one wheel rotated 100% more than the other.

That’s crazy overdrive…😃 But still cool af! Once proper gearing it’ll be smoother as said. 👍🏻
I’m excited about this one I’m a reefs fan I love things that work well and are made to last buy once cry once you know the deal my brother
Yep, solid build but I'll stick with Dlux. Not knocking Reefs but pretty standard stuff here. Thanks for the video 👍

I can’t wait to see it when it gets dialed in 😊🤘✌️
😮 can't wait to see that that new reefs gang comes out with next! Gonna change the game. Kits maybe?!!! No rtrs!
Oh yeah stay tuned buddy
@ExocagedRC I believe Wyatt works form them now and he's a genius when it comes to comp style crawler products
👍👍😃
Awesome review. Love mine. I put it in my Element. It’s going awesome.

and Dlux Fab, a real American company, makes a 3 gear, 3:1 ratio transmission that's less than HALF the weight
so less that 1.2 ounces complete ready to bolt in?? I need to see that
@@ExocagedRCThey are actually right about the dlux trans 1.023 ounces ready to go. Not knocking reefs product at all here just sharing that info.

Wish someone make something like this with a dig
About $100 for two gears and one small aluminium case...
Yep and for high end competition, this is cheap
I agree with higher price usually for a comp built transmission @ExocagedRC class saving weight is a key to make it forward bias weight
1 rotation to 1/2 a rotation is 50%, I think.
50% would be 1.5:1

I’m pretty sure that’s 50% overdrive.
Transmission is super quiet!
Crazy how quiet it is....and that big pinion seems to be just fine
I think 2:1 is 100% overdrive. 1:1 is zero 1.25:1 would be 25% not 125. You need to subtract the 1 from 2:1
thats not how overdrive works😂 looks like 50% or a lil less
Rc cars are not vehicles!
They are vehicles
