- I suppose this qualifies as an RC helicopter despite the drone DNA it is likely blended with, but to my eyes, it's a helicopter. This is the very first helicopter I've ever flown, so trying one out that's both inexpensive and that doesn't take up much space, seemed like a sensible first toe-in-the-water. I must admit that I'm no fan of helicopters in general; my heart and soul belong to the fixed-wing world... but this little 'chopper' surprised me. Hugely.
I’ve had a few heli’s but the thing with planes is that they only stop when you crash em or land em…which is relentless excitement !

Great job . Looks like a fun lil Heli . I have a very early version of this model and its nowhere near as stable as this one .
Thanks Philip! Yeah, the more up-to-date drone tech seems to keep this wee thing locked in very nicely. I actually didn't expect it to be as much fun as it was.

That was fun watching your first round of Heli Hoop La. That looks like a very capable little machine. It sure has an excellent 'heading hold' gyro on board. I have found that trying to land on grass can be a problem with the skids getting stuck on one side and it then wants to tilt over and put the rotor in the dirt. As you progress - and try landing manually - you may want a little platform (sort of like the take off strip you have laid down before.) This smooth surface can allow your skids to skitter across without snagging for your manual landings especially. It can be a fun workout for your thumbs . . . and your brain.

I've flown a few toy grade ones and I'm tempted to get a better one, but there are so many planes I want first 😂 The day will come though!

Thank you, Alex! I reckon this little thing is somewhere between toy and hobby grade, but to be honest, it does everything I want a heli to do. Maybe it's my own 'happy heli' space 😄

I bought the exact same Heli from HobbyKing, unfortunately it was defective so I went about trying to get warranty service but that didn't do me any good at all because HobbyKing gave me some bogus address in Floral Park New York that was suppose to be their waranty department but in the end I got ripped off by Hobby King!

Uh oh youre in trouble now! I crashed my big beautiful heli on Friday. My damn tremors glitched and my pitch went full up and I lost control in surprise. The mission was just to sort out the hover which was great as the field we were at had light poles, sprinklers, and people. I cut the power so its mostly ok I think but a ball link went flying off. On order...
