Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if CZcams denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

Alejandro killed the jefes family much quicker and painless than how he had his wife and daughter killed.

I am from Mexico, so I know how us Mexicans reacted to this movie (generally speaking, we thought it was very well done, but it of course emphasises the American perspective). I always wondered how people in the US felt about the movie though. My impression based on your reaction is that the scenes of graphic violence is not something Americans are much aware of (like when the tortured bodies are hanging from a bridge), nor are you *that* aware of all the institutional corruption. So, yes, the shootouts are a common occurrence, more in some parts of the country than in others. People gradually get desensitised so they are able to cope with the horrendous violence there.
All in all, really enjoyed your reaction. Keep up the great work!

Sicario is a deep anti-war on drugs movie disguised as an action movie. Don't get me wrong, I love the action in this film, that border scene crossing is perfect tension building. The soundtrack is fantastic.
So the CIA's awful plan is a complete success, the head drug dealer is killed, some measure of order is restored to the drug trade limiting the harm it can do. And yet nothing good changes. Silvio's family now just has to carry on without him around anymore. The ending scene where the soccer game is momentarily interrupted by gun shots then they just get right back to playing is a perfect metaphor for the events of the movie.
Alejandro gets his revenge but look at his face the last frame he's in the movie. Is he happy now that he's gotten his revenge? He looks like a dead man.
That last scene with him was fantastic. Like if she had actually shot him, he would have welcomed it. And as an audience, we know why.
Villeneuve is such a gift to modern cinema, this brutal, real, dismal gem ranks high among my favorite films. I highly recommend Blade Runner 2049. For more from Robert Eggers (director of photography): The Witch, or The Northman. More from Taylor Sheridan (screenwriter): Wind River.

If you liked the nuance and subtle acting in this movie, make sure you listen to the other comments that are recommending Wind River (2017). Very underrated movie that doesn't get on the radar of most of the reaction channels.
I’ve never seen this movie because it’s not really a genre I watch, but damn that was amazing. Emily blunt… she continues to amaze me- especially since the first thing I saw her in was Devil Wears Prada.
As a husband and father I would have done the same thing as Alejandro. I know it is wrong but I would be willing to condemn my soul for revenge against such horrible acts against my family.

there is a sequel to this movie; not as good as this movie due to different direction but there will soon be a third sicario movie focusing on the cartel bosses; hopefully denis comes back to direct after the dune trilogy
You made some great observations! This is one of my favorite movies and I’ve watched a lot of YT reactions. You’re the only one to mention how loud the gunfight in that tunnel would have been. I feel like the only mistake in the movie was not having Delta run suppressed for that scene
And yet he had no idea what Kate noticed on the table for way too long and said “thank God (Alejandro) was in the area” and heard the gunshot.
You should continue with Incendies, another awesome movie from Villeneuve

You should watch a movie called “Intensity”.
I think he also killed the kids, and wife because he didn't want the kids to grow up and seek revenge, or continue with their father's drug cartel. Notice he let the housekeeper live because he knew she wasn't going to threat.
He let her live because she was just the maid, not a family member or an armed guard.

Like other have said in the comments, you probably will like Wind River and Hell or High water. They are part of a trilogy called The American Frontier that includes Sicario. There is no strory connection between the movies so there is no right order to watch them

Incendies is another good one by Villeneuve. A bit slower than this and prisoners, but arguably filmed better. And much more fucked up.

You need to react to Bladerunner 2049! It's a faithful sequel and just as good as the original (which is very rare).
You make a few interesting comments on the directing and the plot, but jeez, a LOT of talking of nothing.
And missed some basic parts too, he was wondering what Kate noticed on the table for too long, then said “thank God (Alejandro) was in the area” and that he probably heard the gunshot not realizing he was following her.
And the sequel is just as good, if not better! 🎉
