- Today Gift and I spent our first full day in beautiful Split Croatia. We take a little tour of Croatia’s second largest city. Afterwards, we visit Diocletian’s Palace and old town, followed by a delicious Croatian lunch 😋

Beautiful, classic architecture and alleyways and the young kid (tuk tuk) driver and guide was very knowledgeable. The lunch was on the money as it seemed but the Roman architecture and the bay views are outstanding ! Another J&G positive production 😊

Gift is displaying a bit of an eye for history. Incredible architecture in those buildings. Nice and clean and green with excellent parks. Like Gifts pigeon jump made me chuckle both times. Bushyboy Oz.

And the wonderful holiday continues Gift and Joe! Split looks like an interesting city with all the history going back to Roman times. Love all the little alleyways and arches. The emperor Diocletian was quite an interesting guy if memory serves me right. I think that he was born into an ordinary family but rose to be emperor dur to his military strategy and administrative skills. He regarded himself as a god and was famously the last emperor to issue an edict against Christians condemning them to death in about 300 A.D. That was certainly a vast and magnificent palace in its day in a beautiful spot on the coast. That meal looked delicious especially with truffle. Good idea Gift, to have an apartment in each of the places you visit. Just a slight problem however, money! 🙂 Keep them coming Joe, I am having a wonderful time without having to leave my house! Joe your 100% correct always pay in the currency of the country your in. They will charge you between 5-7% if they exchange money where your credit card will charge a minimal amount.

Split looks very beautiful we have only been to Zadar in Croatia and was very cheap and found a great Thai restaurant!
When you guys are in Prague we highly recommend you try the train restaurant called Vytopna in Wynceslas Square which ideally you pre book book a table as it gets very busy

When you see those granite columns the Romans did not have the technology to make them they brought them back from Egypt but the Egyptians did not have the technology to make them either many believe they are 40,000 years old they're only a few of them in the world there are a few on st marks and Venice there are a few at a few temples from Rome so to have those columns is a big prestigious thing only an emperor could have it

Getting a tourist visa to the USA for Thai nationals is nearly impossible! Chuck from the CZcams channel NOTIME2BSAD has a Thai friend who worked for the Thai government, was denied a tourist visa to visit the USA.

You judging the whole of Europe on one city. Joe and Gift loved Italy. That would be like judging all of America on the slums and rough sleepers
America is too crime ridden.
Perhaps not for everyone! Having lived in Europe for 30 plus years myself and having two boys and grandchildren that live in Germany 🇩🇪 Europe is like my 2nd home, the US being my 1st and Thailand now my 3rd. We plan on going to the US late next year.
