"I never looked that good. Never!" Aw, I adore Patrick. He's so sweet & humble. I'd actually love to see pictures of what he looked like in his mid20's-mid30's (the age of Charles from "First Class" to "DOFP"). It would be cool to see how much of a resemblance there really is between him & James. And I also love how eager he is to place blame for the whole pogo stick thing at the end: "Jackman started this."

Having a hard time picking up the link, but I think I can assume there is indeed a strong resemblance. It's an unspoken rule of casting prequels to look for that (younger actors who look like then could feasibly age into being the older actors).
kellybundy1000 I think James liked saying it, too. I've seen him say it in most of his interviews in the years since "First Class". It just fits his personality.
Patrick Stewart is the GOAT in the role, but James McAvoy doesn't get the credit he deserves as Professor X, and Days Of Future Past was his magnum opus
First Class was originally meant to be a reboot that had nothing to do with the original trilogy. That changed after Bryan Singer took over filming the new movie and made it so First Class was a prequel
basboosa ??? how is that true when both Hugh Jackman AND Rebecca Romaijn both cameo in First Class lol i think what u meant to say was that First Class was a Prequel to REBOOT the franchise as a whole because, creatively, Last Stand was a disaster lol Days of Future Past is still a Prequel Reboot, but with a more direct tie to the original trilogy so they could have their cake and eat it too lol
@@RisastoleM2314 the présenter was talking about first class being a reboot. Not Days of future past. I agree with the OP that First class is not a storyline reboot just a prequel
I never knew I needed this until now. Would love to see the situation Jean-Luc and his crew were in when he first preformed the "Picard Maneuver" and how that would look played out.
It didn't mess anything up. X-men Apocalypse has proven that the only characters they can get right still are Professor X, Magneto, and Wolverine. It's a close call, but I prefer Patrick and Ian as their respective characters, so I am glad they were brought back.
okay so I guess were all supposed to assume mutants age slower than normal humans because if u do the the math and seeing as both the professor and magneto were alive in the 1930s that they are nearly 100 in 2023
someone said that james mcavoy doesnt look like an old professor x (patrick stewart) which makes sense cos they’re two different people but that person also said that ezra miller should have played young charles. hmmm, i think tf not. just look at the thumbnail of this video, mcavoy was meant to play young charles.
I think its interesting when actors talk the side or little think about their experiences for roles. To non actors, it's like, yah..o.k.. Many people do not include in their talk as part of their talk...well I went to the public toilet and before using the commode, wiped off the seat and rim because it was you know,.. awful. Say if one works as a warehouse picker or restuarant cook. Its nor, well I used the lathery hand soap because it might help. Me. I used the men's cheap body scent from the spin a coin vender, because its has a large amount of alcohol in it. And I like that. Not only do they not talk about wiping, or other little things. They hardly mention any of it unless it's to vent.. tell a joke. But for actors-actresses it's just all part of the thing. Well when portraying Churchill, let yourself get fat. Doing a Princess, tell yourself..you're, wise( this is me, being, wise( note the upright posture I'm holding) Doing a fast food counter person, get a makeover and remember to, smile. Usually its one grumble-shlubbs in, grumble-relief s, out the time clock. Did I do the sigh right? Do I slouch enough? I need to look slouchy? It makes it funny weird-tresting.
Yes! Basically because Dune was a straight to basic cable miniseries, and the first one wasn't actually very good, people really slept on Children of Dune. That's where I first saw James McAvoy, and he was _obviously_ capable of becoming a superstar based on his performance.
It bugs me that McAvoy used a *totally different* accent. McAvoy's character has a slurry, southern, back-of-the-throat voice, a bit like Austin Powers. While Patrick Stewart has _always_ had a full, articulate, theatrical voice with a northern RP accent. So the word "no" for example: Stewart's character says "n-oh-w" while McAvoy's says "n-er-w".
He was probably struggling to get it across since he has such a naturally heavy scottish accent. He does do a good English accent, but trying to emulate a real person's existing accent is much harder.
The X men movies suck and are actually worse than the cartoons. The writing is inexcusably bad given the funding and that the stories and characters are already written out for them
I'm in love with James McAvoy
TA join the club
SAME!!!
who doesn't?
Not if I get old.
Me tooz
I LOVE James MxAvoys accent.
The moment he said: "Whut?" I laughed out loud. *-*
Wow Patrick has never aged a day, Looks the same as he did when he was on Star Trek :)
Well, I think he keeps himself in really good shape, and, to be fair, it helps when you have no hair to turn gray.
I want James McAvoy return as Professor X in MCU.
It might be possible with the multiverse
Yes pleaaaase!
this aged like fine wine, but we got Patrick Stewart tho, it mighr be posibble for James McAvoy
Well, if you want Kitty back Im afraid you are going to get Doggy instead....she went through quite the "mutation" since the last movie
@@breadfan9 Not stupid or corny at all, so do you keep up with all trans celebrities so you can play victim 24/7 . Or what?

Groovy, hmm? Very nice, & appropriate, choice of words.
Danielle Musella Thank you :D I'm reviving the word "groovy" in honour of young Charles Xavier ;)
kellybundy1000 I think James liked saying it, too. I've seen him say it in most of his interviews in the years since "First Class". It just fits his personality.
The way Patrick said "NEVER!" made me laugh far more than it should have.
2:59 James McAvoy doing an impersonation of the facepalm.
hahaha "Jackman started this" XD
Patrick Stewart is the GOAT in the role, but James McAvoy doesn't get the credit he deserves as Professor X, and Days Of Future Past was his magnum opus
It is not a re-boot as far as I can see. Nice interview.
First Class was originally meant to be a reboot that had nothing to do with the original trilogy. That changed after Bryan Singer took over filming the new movie and made it so First Class was a prequel

James McAvoy & Patrick Stewart 🔥
Watching this again, I remember how Hugh did that same jumping move when he did press for "DOFP" on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon".
"I DON'T WANT YOUR SUFFERING, I DON'T WANT YOUR FLUTCHA!"
Crazy, I can hear James' voice as Xavier while I read it 😌
James McAvoy...your face is just undescribeably handsome and kissable😚😚😚😚🥰😊
It was great :) Nice and incredibly funny :)
los amo tanto, el mejor personaje
James Mcavoy should play younger Jean-Luc Picard.
I never knew I needed this until now.
Would love to see the situation Jean-Luc and his crew were in when he first preformed the "Picard Maneuver" and how that would look played out.
James always looks so damn good.. i love him! Wish to see him in MCU please..
Mr McAvoy's accent melts me🤤
I prefer Charles over Charles
You out of your mind dude, Charles is so much better than Charles
I Love X-Men Days of Future Past And Endgame
I like to see the divine lovely Robin. She is so very beautiful and wonderful.
First class is not a reboot
If its not a reboot then there are huge continuity problems.
scwhk1 because reasons
It should have been a reboot but Bryan Singer had to drag his cast into the mix and mess everything up.
It didn't mess anything up. X-men Apocalypse has proven that the only characters they can get right still are Professor X, Magneto, and Wolverine. It's a close call, but I prefer Patrick and Ian as their respective characters, so I am glad they were brought back.
After more research i have determined that first class was meant to be a reboot before dofp was convinced.

An awesome movie...in my top 10
Charles Xavier is my darling and James Macvoy is my crush 😍
If only my dad was as healthy as Sir Patrick Steward.

in retrospect, those people are probably glad it didn't happen

It makes it funny weird-tresting.
why doesnt anybody asks them how he (xavier) came back to life from when he died in x-3?
why as no one ever mentioned their DUNE connection.
Or Penelope.
Yes! Basically because Dune was a straight to basic cable miniseries, and the first one wasn't actually very good, people really slept on Children of Dune. That's where I first saw James McAvoy, and he was _obviously_ capable of becoming a superstar based on his performance.
Nobody will come close to Patricks perfectly shaped bald head lol, he looks just like in the comics
Deadpool brought me here Spoiler Alert!!! lol
Wth they r continously rosating each other😭🐸💀💀 1:05 2:40 💀 3:00 LMAO HIM SHAKING HEAD💀💀 3:38 here we goo🐸💀
Yup, theyre a bit look alike
They're the same person.
I think Jame's and Hugh Jackman are hot
Stewart and McAvoy eyes are different color. Strange when they didnt cared about that when they picked mcavoy for the role.
that's easy to alter in post-effect, faces are difficult
when i wrote my comment i didnt thought that its easy to get different eyes color.. with lenses.. lol im stupid sometimes :D

Thx for the spoiling that he doesn't have his powers!!
It's not even a spoiler
This age well. Can wait doctor strange 2
It’s so weird because they sound nothing alike!
Why does James look a bit uncomfortable here xD
She has no idea what x men is
