The nostalgia is insane! The amount of memories I had playing this when it first came out
I watched the whole of this with a big nostalgic smile on my face.
I was having the same memories as you! I used to sit with my dad in the computer room playing these, we had the guides too. It's how I got into gaming and watching people game.
Oh my gosh, this is such a nostalgia trip o.o
I was 10 years old in 1996 when Tomb Raider 1 came out on the PS1 console.
I was blown away by how amazing it looked. The graphics were the best thing since sliced bread back then in 1996. Tomb Raider 1 was the very first game I played in 3D.
I can’t wait to play.

You may want to wait until they fix the bugs. I've had her freeze in place a few times in my two hours of gameplay.

For people haveing trouble at 7:27 in the video thats where secret 2 is located just spent a hour trying to reach that ledge with modern controls you stand on the far left and press R2 on playstation and lara will grab it i managed to glitch myself up their the first time before i figured it out lol 😂😂😂

Basically tank controls are the only way to play atm imo with modern you carnt side step back step so carnt line up jumps properly or fall safely from high heights which is how this game was designed to be played massive oversight by the developers 💯💯💯💯

Bro I remember my parents playing this with the guide book from Walmart and everything. I can't wait to fire this up and hear those nostalgic sounds again. Gotta make sure to lock up the butler in the freezer too

I've never played any Tomb Raider games. I noticed there was a remaster for PS4 and that's why I'm here, to check it out. Great vid btw.
I used to play the old tomb raider games , iv wanted this game for years it brings back great memory's from good times b4 all the trauma iv suffered . Amazing
How do you save progess? When you hit the option button it just switches between old school and modern views.
I can already tell by those awkward camera angles I'll be playing with the old tank controls turned on 😄 overall the new graphics and added lighting look great! 🤩
The modern controls work well until the camera gets stuck on a wall. I hope they fix this and the freeze bug.

I never played the old "Tomb Raider games. I only played the Definitive Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Those were the only ones I liked. It's crazy to see this again. I've seen the 1st one played at someone's house and they couldn't get out of the cave.
These games were fun but hard. One misstep or jump and Lara is toast. Lots of trial and error but once you get into the groove, it'll be a breeze. Enjoy the OG storyline, it won't disappoint.
Same here. There was a lever on the wall you had to pull to get out the cave but the graphics were that bad, you couldn’t see it 😂

You definitely need to stick with the tank controls, I’ve been using the analog stick (instead of the dpad) for just moving about then keep everything original. Probably will make it easier later on down the tracks!
You also then be able to do all the backflips and everything

Does anyone know if playing this on the Nintendo’s switch know how to fix the controllers the camera is spinning around all over the place I have no control over lara?
Got stuck on the first jump and grab. Didn't know i had to press R2 to grab hold of the ledge. lol.
A couple of times it looked like you missed jumps because you're not using the walking key/button. If you walk to an edge it will automatically stop you, so you can jump from the furthest possible point.
As someone who downgraded his PC to windows 95 back in the day get Tomb Raider 2 working I am really excited to get back into these.

Smart how they've made the playable Lara, look identical to thr cutscene Lara. Graphics couldnt do it back then lol. Also makes the old cuts scenes being original, blend in well. Me and my Dad would sit and play every TR game that came out in the 90's 🔥

Hey, I just got the game myself. I played it when I was a child amazing. By the way I can’t figure out the modern controls and what does it mean by the dead zone? What should that be said and the I think it’s like horizontal and or vertical I don’t know what that isand sensitivity what should that be said as because I’m trying to figure out the settings and it’s still kind of bugging me a little. If you could help me out that be great I do have it for my PlayStation five so yeah.

No, they didn't remaster the cut scenes, it would have cost way too much money to do so. They wanted to concentrate souly on the game, which I'm more than OK with. Can't wait to rehash old memories of first playing this in the 90's
They did upscale the original FMVs and when playing with updated graphics, they are in-game cutscenes, not pre-rendered videos

You can calhange controls from tank to modern it helps a whole lot
So I bought this game, downloaded it, started playing and it's now it's clear to me that I have no clue where I have been starting bc I always start on this one fiery level where you're dropped down a ramp at first? I kept giving up after facing the flying demon things... Gotta go back and play around with the menu now.

This is the game that got me into story/adventure games, instead of only sports and platformers.
Eventually Metal Gear Solid dropped and the rest is history. I really loved gaming before these franchises, but after, it became a passion and obsession.
Lara gets the credit, and for that, I bless the day that she was created!😢❤

With RTX Remix, you can technically do this with nearly any PSX port. Ai can do some amazing things in the land of gaming.

Got it now, shoot without guns = action. I also figured out how to jump backwards: Draw guns and tap back button

I have a fucking bug that she puts the weapon away instantly, after pushing the weapon button. But only with the modern controls. I hate this. Any ideas how to solve it?

It's more of a re-texturing rather than a re-master. All the glitches are still there.

So the key here is to wait what 1 year or so after release to get it when its properly patched, modern controls are iffy, and glitches and missing graphics etc.. Hopefully they spend some time in 2024 to patch this so its a more of a "non-beta" in 2025 :)
Force yourself to learn the tank controls, it’s quite a bit better.

Let us all pray. The Aspyr also remasters Tomb Raider 4-6. Graphically, the remastered looks incredibly good, with significantly more detail. Something that wasn't there in the originals. This remastered is really fantastic!😍
4 and 5 for remasters yes - but 6, Angel of Darkness, deserves a *_full REMAKE_* - a remaster won't fix the numerous bugs and its incomplete state
A full remake à la Resident Evil 4 would be the best - rebuilt from the ground up, complete, bug-free and all

because thats a remake. Remastered is using the original game and upgrading the textures and models to look more polished.

@dxtremecaliber I agree but the grid based system is not built for the modern controls. Lara can't even do backflips and you gotta have your guns out to step backwards. As a tomb raider fan since 96, this is a big problem for certain actions.
