Code P0449 Meaning Hydrocarbons form smog when they react with air and sunlight. ... When the trouble code P0449 is set, this is an indication of the EVAP system vent valve solenoid malfunctioning which results in more hydrocarbons being expelled into the atmosphere. P0449 is what you read
Justin!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a WS6!!!!!!!!!!!! In brand new condition!!! Only has 32,000 miles loaded out always has been garage kept we r selling ours ! It’s BEAUTIFUL WITH THE T-tops we are in ARIZONA QC
Hello 👋3BB, almost school 🏫time. I enjoy watching 👀 and so mannered young people. I like the trailblazer I've never seen one like this one SS. Thanks 😊for sharing. 🙏
My neighbors SS Trailblazer had same code. Autozone ran the code scanner, they told him his needed new EVAPORATOR SYSTEM, he said it's still got original gas cap, bought a new 1, drove it around town, turning it on off, light went out on it's own. Cost a few bucks, he's still cruzan the town. So give it a try 1st guy's.
You didn’t know about TBSS? The hell you been?! You know there’s a SAAB variant too, better suspension to boot and very very hard to find. Most people have no idea.
Love the SS Trailblazers! I have a 2005 that a little old grand'pa used as a grocery getter & kept it in the garage. 124,000 miles and all I had to change was the arm rest. Gonna get that JET chip along with the Magnaflow exhaust & a cold air kit and see if I can get this 4.2L to 300hp.😁 Congrats on SS, really nice ride👍🏿✌🏿
dude leave it stock, preserve it,this is a piece of history cant you see that,if you want to do cam and all that do it,do like i did buy a s10 or blazer,i got a 05 blazer and installed a 6.0 with cam and T56 6 speed so i saved a blazer from ending up in a junkyard one day,it will be around for a long time now,im looking for a tbss thats stock, theres a few out there, but nobody wants to buy the ones that are all molested hell no,they've been listed for weeks and they are even dropping the prices but no one wants a ragged out tbss.see the beauty in it,restore it and keep it clean and stock.you will be sorry if you dont.if you want a project for you and the family, build one from scratch like i did.have fun.
I love your channel u are a great dad. I got one of your hats when I get more money I what a shirnext I'm sk pump repair in Safford Ariz my brother live in Georgia spring field I love your Page
You going to get TDUBS a dealer license for South Carolina? I remember you saying you had issues with that in AZ. Love the channel and love the content. That TBSS is great. I just saw a guy in NH buy and sell one and it reminded me of them. I'm not a Chevy guy but that is clean!!!
Mine also has that tailgate issue, to open it you have to manually disengage the mechanism by partially removing the trim although I wouldn’t advise it since it’s very probable you’d end up damaging trim pieces nice to see you have the more rare granite black metallic instead of the common black
6.0 motors like to break the rear couple exhaust manifold studs for some reason thats the reason for exhaust leak at manifold . The fix is upgraded studs. Be expecting broken bolt removal. Hopefully its sticking out of the head a little bit. The job is doable without removing heads. You will have to go through the wheel wells. Just realized this video is 1 year old 😆 🤣.
That happens when you over fill the evap sits on the top of the tank if you drop the tank you will see it there will be a few lines going to it it gets full of fuel and it can't escape then it can't vent properly.been there Dunn that.
From my experience a p0449 on a Trail Blazers is a bad fuel tank pressure sensor. I’ve changed out many fuel tank pressure sensor for this because sensor reading get stuck at 5 psi or higher at all times. You can see this as a pid on a scan tool that reads data. Some times it’s a clogged vent valve. If you hade a bad fuel cap the pcm would have set a p0442 or a p0455 small or large leak detected. If you need any advices let me know I can send you the GM diagnostic charts for any dtc for any GM vehicle from 2000 to 2021 it’s a hit or miss on anything prior to 2000
Probably the canister in front of the gas tank not that big of a deal about 100.00$ part plus install. Could be the gas cap but my luck is usually the most expensive fix is what it is.
There are 3 bolts holding in that fill nozzle and 2 rubber clamps. take it out inspect it and the rubber hose too in case it to old. you know what the heat in your area does to rubber hose in the south.
Broken manifold bolts are fun. I did mine with the engine out I cant imagine doing it in that small suvs engine compartment. Mine made a ticking noise until it warmed up.
No the light will keep coming back until the evap system is fixed. Just like my stupid chevy is doing lol. Fix one part of the evap then another part pops up ugh... Keep up the good work
I search codes the same way. Hint, put the vehicle make/model in with the code thrown, and usually you will get a load of info, and other people who have had the same code and what exactly they did to fix. A LOT of vehicles with have a common problem, usually if I notice a lot of people saying. Similar thing I will check that first.as well as any of symptom or problem you're having, like why the hatch won't open
That exhaust leak might be the manifold. My Ram broke some manifold bolts and it would clear up once it got hot but when it was cold it sounded like a big exhaust leak.
@@3BBgarage Thanks!!! hope that helps been watching your video since you started, always look forward to the latest vids. I've had four of these trailblazers all with the v8s. Very excited to watch you fix this one up!!!
P0449 not P0499, Im sure someone already corrected you on that. Just wanted to make sure you didn't buy the wrong parts y'all. Nice wheels & 6.0L , nice... you can do some foot-mashing in that ride. Where did you learn so much about cars? Sounds like you are a mechanic (or were)
My truck had the same kind of code it was the steel in back of the cap that was all rusted out going down to the tank. If you have a small hole in the steel fill nozzle the code for the cap will pop up. this cost me $2000 at the ford dealer. its not all steel 8 or 9 inch of steel then rubber hose down to the tank.
Always when I buy a car at complicated seafoam in it that cleans everything's clean the fuel filter clean all the trash out of the fuel tank all that so is Lucas

Funny you have a 2005 SS, considering they didn't come out until 2006. Also, there is no apostrophe in "grandpa."

There's a small solonoid that is on top of the gas tank. That's what my 0449 was on my 6.0. it's a gas tank pressure release or something.
That happens when you over fill the evap sits on the top of the tank if you drop the tank you will see it there will be a few lines going to it it gets full of fuel and it can't escape then it can't vent properly.been there Dunn that.

I've always liked Trailblazer SS never could find one in my price range so never had one yet hopefully someday
Definitely should paint the brake caliper red it will help it stand out! Use por15 and just brush it on very ways

Hi
This is literally my dream car!!!
Broken manifold bolts are fun. I did mine with the engine out I cant imagine doing it in that small suvs engine compartment. Mine made a ticking noise until it warmed up.
The code was 449 not 499 …it is in nice shape …needs cam ..headers ..exhaust and yes twin turbos …she’ll be sick then !!!
Cool ride and channel. Thanks for sharing.
How can I find this car whenever you’re selling it?
No the light will keep coming back until the evap system is fixed. Just like my stupid chevy is doing lol. Fix one part of the evap then another part pops up ugh... Keep up the good work
Havent even watched this.. but TBSS FTW boooost!!! Goals for my 08!! Now ima get to the video lol
Just a heads up if you're planning performance upgrades, the transmission are known to be the weak point in these. Enjoy and killer vehicle!!
gmtnation and trailvoy are good forums for Trailblazers
9x out of 10 it's the fuel cap. Unless it's a gravel/dirt road driver then it's the purge solenoid.
If you have led interior bulbs that may be the parasitic drain 4:48
I am having the same problem with my van. I think I have a bad purge valve on mine. Hope to check it today.

That could be the Code it’s pulling too ? Thank You
@@3BBgarage I’m not sure if it could be why the check engine light is on. My Ram never had a check engine light on before I got it fixed.
Is the purge valve most likely. driver side top of the intake manifold they're fairly inexpensive and they go bad all the time.
Thank You 🙏🏽

You or anyone got any tips on where to buy one at?
Hola, de casualidad sabes que podría ser el código C0244 de la trailblazer.
How did you fix evap issue?
Charcoal filter by the driveshaft on the driver side
