    • @thardyryll
      @thardyryll Před 2 lety

      It does not need to be empty. Hold the torch vertically and, of course, upside-down. Press the torch valve. It won’t hurt anything if a little butane squirts out - that shows you have released all the air.

      The problem is that the refill butane is not properly seating on the lighter valve. Look for refill butane that has a half-dozen plastic tips molded into the butane cylinder’s plastic cap. Select one that fits snugly over the lighter valve. Press the cylinder onto the plastic tip firmly and hold it there until a spurt of butane shows the lighter is filled.

  • @thardyryll
    @thardyryll Před 2 lety +8

    What’s not shown here is that some butane canisters are sold with a metal stem that will not seal to the torch fill valve. These canisters have a half-dozen tips molded into the cap so the user can select the tip that fits the torch valve. Also, a very small straight-blade screwdriver is easier to use to depress the torch fill valve to release any residual pressure before refilling. Just make sure the blade doesn’t block the valve orifice.

    • @rafaeltorre1643
