      Hey Alexandra, you are welcome, and well, make sure you have assigned a static IP for the copier and if you are connecting it to an existing network or router, make sure the machine has an IP of the same family if the gateway is 192 168 1 1 then assign 192 168 1 40 and after installing the correct driver, it will work just fine, so review the video again and do the same steps and it should work just fine.

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 5 lety

      Many Thanks, and well, this copier scans to a folder on the network or so, you have to assign a folder on a computer with a specific IP and choose the directory from the screen of the copier itself, All and all, i wouldn't recommend scanning using that model as i used to scan with touch screen multi-function RICOH copiers. I uploaded a video for it under the name: "How to Scan using Ricoh Copier". and if it's a less demand scanning jobs, then a regular HP or Canon scanner will do.

      Hey Amber, It's interface has both RJ45 Network Port & The regular printer USB Port. If you can't connect to it via Network, Just connect it via USB and make sure you have the proper driver for your version of windows.

      وعليكم السلام So glad it helped, and sure you can either connect it via a regular printer USB cable or using a network cable directly from your laptop to the machine's LAN. and i recommend the USB cable for a direct connection since you gonna need to assign a manual IPs for both the machine and the PC in case of a direct network connection.

  • @zk453
    @zk453 Před 7 lety +2

    Do you need to have configured the router in any special way, or is the process fully automatic?

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 7 lety +1

      zk453, either with DHCP or manual IPs, you don't have to do any special configs to your router, just assign a static IP for the machine so that it doesn't change it's IP when you restart the router for example .. other than this, nothing else is needed.

    • @zk453
      @zk453 Před 7 lety

      Thank you for your reply i tried again and i printed the interface settings list and it shows that dhcp is off and then it shows the ipv4 11.22.33.44 and when i go to the settings it shows the ipv4 i had put and is programmed on specify maybe the printer has the problem. Thanks again for your time.

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 7 lety

      zk453, No worries, Always glad to help, Just try to assign an IP for your machine, at rare conditions the machine settings can't be modified due to an admin permission, other than this, you can easily assign an IP for your machine, go to the playlist "Multi-Function Copiers & Printers" which i made for all other multi-function copiers & i hope it may help. have a good day :)

    The place where you have inserted the cable is sealed on my printer..

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před rokem +1

      That means your printer doesn't have an interface that allows it to be connected via a USB or Network cable, refer to your copier seller and ask them to install an interface for you or replace the whole machine.

  • @user-lu2lc6pz5f
    @user-lu2lc6pz5f Před 3 lety +1

    the interface setting isn't found on the screen. How to show it?

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 3 lety +1

      If you don't have the interface setting there, maybe the machine is missing a part of the hardware interface itself or it doesn't have it at all and it does support photocopying only since the fax, print and scan are all an extra options. Try contacting the supplier to make sure it does have the full interface.

      I think RICOH may have couple of apps for managing and using multi-function printers via networks and so on "RICOH Smart Device Connector" that might work just fine. Haven't really used it via the phone or tablet though. Give it a try & best of luck.

  • @dev-guillaumebertrand1700

    I think you can say that you must link the printer and the router with a cross cable

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 6 lety

      Well, I didn't need a cross cable since i was connecting the printer to my router which has a 4 X Full Duplex Ports, so no need for the cross cable unless you are connecting it directly to your laptop without a router or print server, while some laptop's cards are even full duplex which won't need a cross cable either :)

    • @ModiAdams

      Well, i never used such a kind of scanners, i only used it on mid to high volume machines where the scanner saves the files on the machines' HDD and then i access it through the web browser. i think i might have tried this once and scanned a file to a folder but it was a big hassle that it's way not convenient. never tried the twain driver though.

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 4 lety

      Hi Maria, seeing the machine through the web browser doesn't mean you have installed the printer correctly, and if you follow the steps of this video, i'm sure you would be able to install it on your computer, just make sure you assign a static IP and not via the DHCP which would later on get changed and you wouldn't be able to print on it, also check the interface and make sure it has a USB-B Port for the printers cable, if so, you can also use it for printing.

    I can see on my printer Ricoh MP 201 SPF there is that IPV4 address but when I go to "add printer" it doesn't detect this IPV4 address and when I typed it, it doesn;t work. Is there anything I can do???

    • @ModiAdams
      @ModiAdams  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey there, sometimes you can discover your printer through the regular add-printer wizard, so you would need to assign that manually, same as i did in that video, so you add an IP from the machine's panel, and you type that IP manually on the manual add-printer wizard and it will work.
