Hi Michael. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opening up to us. I can relate to much of what you said. The thing I most enjoy about your artistry is when you combine realism with that randomness of your pours. For me personally, there are so many people making pour videos that the only ones I watch are the ones that set themselves above the rest...paintings done with a different technique, with different paints and/or colors etc... you are an amazing artist, especially when you are painting people, animals and flowers. I personally want to see you do more of this on top of the pours. It is now too easy for people to buy pre-mixed paints and mimic what we do to layer and pour paint and get similar results. It’s getting very saturated out here. Play to your strengths my friend and continue to make art that YOU love first and foremost. Great things are still to come from Michael Grimm 😘🙏

I know that what ever you decide to do will be best for you and Patrick. I hope that you will still have your artwork on CZcams. yes we are fine but it was some journey for me to make the decisions I made and finally put it all into a video...the mental road was a bit bumpy but I think it is the right decision and will be beneficial to everyone watching....well...and caring for realism ;D
Thanks so much for sharing from your heart! I've had much the same journey and in fact, stopped doing any art during this covid time. I realized with fewer demands on my time, I was given a gift: more time to relax and reflect. Health and fitness was a priority I'd neglected because I got too busy, often doing artwork. I agree, the pours get repetitive after awhile. And where was I going to store all of them? Art fairs, where I used to sell some pieces, are cancelled. I just don't have more space to stack canvases and supplies when I can't sell them. I think you're wise to reevaluate. I am in my 70's. We're only given one life so it's always good to stop and really rethink priorities. They change; that's good!
wise words and I honestly value them! I totally lost focus on myself the last...well...years I must say and although it was a tough decision to make...I think it was the right one...I always pushed to become an artist and one day hopefully live from it - but in the end I was risking losing the joy and fun that art is supposed to cause and this would have hit me way harder then not living as an artist :)

You know I've missed your videos, but I was overjoyed to hear you were focusing on you and indulging in a little self-care 🥰 You've been giving your all for us here on YT for a long time and you've more than earned plenty of 'me time' for yourself. I'm thrilled to hear that you're contemplating keeping the channel and taking things to a deeper creative level. I agree that while pouring is fun, it is very limited in how much you can actually do with it. I'm excited to branch out to new things with you! I'll have plenty of questions on the realism, especially with the things I really struggle with like proper shadows and how to shade them correctly. I'd love to someday be able to produce a piece like your bamboo painting or the sweet little bird I got from you! In the meantime, you just keep looking after you, and Patrick, of course! I still have no real clue where to start going again and questions will ease that burden a but as it gives me something to grab on...so...whatever u are struggeling with...send it :DD

Loved loved loved the pours, but even more I loved hearing you are doing well and taking care of yourself!! ♥ I always loved your videos (all of them with all mediums) from the beginning, and I have seen you improve with each one, even with the "so-called fails" (because I still saw beauty and all kinds of shapes telling a story) you learned something and we learned something as well, while enjoying the process, so THANK YOU for all you have done, do and continue doing, don't give up, it's better to have less videos with higher quality, that makes YOU happy, than putting up hundreds of video that at the end makes you feel empty.

A pour and talking every now and then but tbh...I literally told everything that I knew in all the pouring videos to I can make some pours and talk about the FAQs and life stuff rather than going over the mechanics again ^^

thank you so much!! This virus has hit really hard. Must say I only have one person in my closer circle that did have and and she did not even notice it. We got pretty lucky here in Germany with all the cases we "only" had and it is horrifying to see that half a year later things are still uncertain and the world is still far away from normal...It has given time to think about some topics...to the good and bad...I personally hope this crisis can be solved soon.

sorry for my late reply!! Well most shipping possibilities are blocked currently. The cheapest way to ship to the US is via DHL. The only package size they ship abroad is the large package 60x120cm size and only premium. So whatever small size I would want to ship to the US will be still billed like the large package on premium delivery wthich is about 60 EUR...If I had artworks sold for 500 USD and more these 60 would be in range but as most of my paintings sell for way less - well...shipping costs come into play :((

Thanks Sharon :) Well out little Seb unfortunately joined his little brother who left us 16 years ago...It was super sad we lost him and it was tough after having him for such a long time...we kind of found peace knowing he is with his little turtle brother now paddling through the clouds :)

sorry for my late reply!! Well most shipping possibilities are blocked currently. The cheapest way to ship to the US is via DHL. The only package size they ship abroad is the large package 60x120cm size and only premium. So whatever small size I would want to ship to the US will be still billed like the large package on premium delivery wthich is about 60 EUR...If I had artworks sold for 500 USD and more these 60 would be in range but as most of my paintings sell for way less - well...shipping costs come into play :((

I have missed you and was beginning to wonder if you were OK. You must do what you need to do for your own wellbeing. We will survive, although not necessarily happily, with your absences but knowing that you are all ok is just fine with me. How is your turtle doing?
Thanks Sharon :) Well out little Seb unfortunately joined his little brother who left us 16 years ago...It was super sad we lost him and it was tough after having him for such a long time...we kind of found peace knowing he is with his little turtle brother now paddling through the clouds :)
