Jade is easily triggered by her mother but most of all I think she gets overstimulated and can't regulate her emotions. I get like her when there is a lot going on and can't think or process

Jade seems to have PTSD because even when her mom just says little things she blows up, and I understand it to a certain extent but I do think she needs to learn to be proud of her momâs sobriety and speak calmly because sheâs just hurting herself and keeping herself stressed out.
Or not even be around her and in her life at all if it causes so much of that.

Jade and her mom are equally combative and argumentative.
Because jades finally had enough and stands up for herself. She just needs to stop inviting the mom around to social settings.
Because her mom triggers her. Jade has PTSD from childhood trauma and alot of what her mom does triggers her and gives her anxiety. Her mom also seems just like mine, never really apologetic for anything she's ever done and keeps on doing. I know Jade seems combative and angry all the time but I think she really just has alot of unresolved issues. I understand all too well. đ€
At some point you have to be like that. As sad as it is. I know how Jade feels. My mom caused a ton of trauma to my siblings and i and sheâs never said she was sorry and meant it.
Imagine having to parent your parent, imagine having someone who is supposed to take care of you and protect you be the main source of your trauma. That stuff stays with you forever.
Jade is just as much of the problem as her mom! She was obnoxious too..cussing and causing just as much of a seen! If she canât stand her mom that much, she doesnât need to be around!

I understand jades frustration and being overwhelmed by her mom. My mom does the same thing. I simply canât get a word out without her talking over me or telling me what I should/shouldnât do. She means well I suppose but she just doesnât know when to let people talk and canât read social ques. I get very overwhelmed when Iâm in the same room as her and talking to other people. Her mom seems like sheâs been doing meth for a decent period of time.
yesssss this explains me so well. & people think iâm being rude or mean cause they donât understand but itâs very overwhelming to have every situation someone is trying to control it & they donât listen to you as a grown adult. I end up snapping at her when I donât mean to.

Jade didn't need to shame her by saying the alcohol wasn't free and telling her she's wasn't having a drink. It's so hard to have an addict parent, my dad died from an overdose. Jade says really hurtful things and her mom is so loud. They clearly shouldn't be in public together until they figure things out.
Why does she want alcohol if she's sober?? And dont tell me about her drug of choice being cocaine. A drug is a drug so she is traumatizing Jade!
I relate to Jade. My father was an alcoholic and I would get nervous that he was going to make a scene at every event so when he started to drink at things I would get very on edge. In addition, I struggled with alcohol myself in my later years and my friends and family would also become on edge when I said I wanted to have a drink. Itâs that feeling of walking on eggshells and just wanting to have a nice normal time with no drama.
Jade made a bigger deal than what it was. Her mom wasn't the only one asking about alcohol. As far as weddings it's normal for parents to over step with their opinions. Jade has a lot of her mom's traits too. Jade can get loud at times when it's not needed and blow up at a minor situation.
A lot of things are normal that aren't okay. Parents can take accountability for overstepping, that is an option too. And if you grew up with a mom with drug problems you'd be triggered by them asking about alcohol too
The things you cry about others might see as minor too. I hope no one tells you that in your personal life
I agree. Someone needs to protect Khloe from one day being an addict herself. Glorification of alcohol is not a good way to do that

Jade needs to completely excommunicate her mother Christy out of her life. Christy is toxic, immature & refuses to maintain a life of sobriety. This scene is another example of Christy's lack of growth.

I get overstimulated with my mom. I already know she acts and likes to respond so I try to keep the peace and not react how I want or else it's just a power struggle.

I feel like Jade needs to recognise that her mom can't have normal conversations and shouldn't ask for her mom's opinion or when she is in the presence of her mom because her mom can't rationally think of what's best for Jade. Her mom makes opinions based off what she wants not Jade.
My âmomâ is exactly like Jadeâs mom. Jade is nicer than I am. The person who gave birth to me has met my kids twice. Sheâs not invited to birthdays or holidays or even my sisterâs wedding. Sheâs still an active drug user whose been spinning the same lies for over 25 years and making her mistakes everyone elseâs fault.

As someone who's been in recovery for 5yrs... Jade would be a trigger, that would cause me to relapse..she's so negative and overbearing. She needs to grow up and learn to carefully pick and choose her battles. Sometimes it's best to just be quiet and listen to someone else speak.

She seems to be extremely stressed out & she's used to her mom being the main reason for her stress, so it's easy for her to continue to take her frustrations out on her mother. I agree with Jade though, as a recovering addict myself, I would never order alcohol just because "everyone else has alcohol". I would also have never stolen my daughters entire bottle of pain medication when she was fresh out of a painful surgery, no matter how deep in active addiction I was. But that's neither here nor there.
