- Edsel Dope is the executive producer of Static-X and the founder of his own band Dope. He was last on with us for Episode 156, and it's great to have him back. Also joining us this time around is original Static-X member Tony Campos, who is also the current bassist for Fear Factory. The guys are about to embark on another leg of the Machine Killer tour also featuring Sevendust & Lines of Loyalty. I'm a fan of Static-X, and have been ever since I heard "Push It" in like 99 or 2000. I love that Edsel Dope has filled in as Xero to keep carrying the mantle of the music that Wayne worked so hard to give to us. The fans that are mad about it just make me sgake my head in disappointment because it's so ignorant. Thank you for keeping the band I love alive and relevant, Tony, Edsel, Koichi, and Ken.

Me too cuz my buddy told me about em on MTV when had music videos still and push it came on. Wayne's hair and amish goatee got me hooked an the music was groovy asf.
as someone who saw These guys on the Rise of The Machine Tour, sold out show in Boston, Everyone fuckin killed it
DMFD was a song all of America loved after that viral video of our troops kicking ass to that track on the video.
Saw Static-X last month with 7D and dope. It was a phenomenal show. Edsel has done a great job pulling double duty on the Machine Killer tour.

Been a fan since the late 90’s. Seen them live a week ago and all I can say is thanks you for carrying the torch. Show was amazing. Keep disco evil baby 🤘

Slipknot and static x were my soundtrack growing up, project regeneration was probably my biggest surprise in music in years, i needed these two albums, i miss wayne but i dont want the band to end because of that, i think xero is excellent and being an ex addict myself i can absolutely agree with this, i can understand the damage this does and the blame my friends got for my decisions was a real thing, but in the end you have to throw all that negativity in the bin, static x is a special band and i think it needs to continue and i love how they are remembering Wayne while going forward. Just to add i was waiting for a static x reunion you cant let something that special go to waste.

I was at one of Wayne's last shows at a tattoo fest at the Grand Casino in Oklahoma. I was at the front row to the right. I remember the casino told Wayne not to cuss, and they was about to pull his mic plug for cussing!because Wayne didn't care 😂
I am a graphic artist for this casino. If you ever make it back to the Grand Casino in Shawnee OK, there is a big 4ftx8ft collage on the 2nd floor wall with a really cool photo of Wayne from that show, it's mounted on that wall, and itll be there forever. ❤
I remember after I designed it and made the print, it was maybe 2 weeks later I heard the news that Wayne passed away. I didn't want to believe it. at first I thought it was a bad internet hoax.
It set in, a few days later and I knew it was real.
I walk past that photo of Wayne on the wall every day now, and it keeps it fresh in my mind of what happened along with everyone who walks through that casino. 24/7
I'm still heartbroken, but I am grateful that I DID get to witness Static-X Live.
It just sucked I couldn't do it a 2nd time with Wayne up there. 😢
But... I am incredibly excited to See Static-X again. I really thought Wayne's death = no more Static-X.
I am incredibly proud of the band bringing this band back alive in such a badass and kick ass yet tasteful way.
You guys are kicking total ass, and I can't wait to see you guys again! I'm catching the next show near me 💯

Edsel sounds Dope singing with Static X! Lots of people don't know that Wayne and Billy Corgan were in a band together prior to Pumpkins and Static.

Im still convinced edsel is xero of static x. He even goes by it in his electronic side project 😅 and the fact edsel is the reason static x is back too. ❤ love this though.
It's been openly known for years at this point.
He's not the reason Static-X is back together. Tony and Tripp reunited Static-X in 2016 and Tripp invited Edsel to produce the project. This was revealed in interviews and the band never denied this fact. FWF Crew

Ok fine . I’m a fan.Huge fan. Over the years after Wayne’s death as I fan I asked myself” do I miss Wayne or the music?” I never met Wayne I only met the music. If the music can live on then I as a fan can continue to get what I want from the band . That being said I want evil disco to go in and influence more bands . Wayne is gone for whatever reasons he is , and if the formulas that made the music can continue and the integrity of the band can be maintained that really is all that matters to me as a fan . I never knew Wayne so I refuse to take any of this personally as a fan . I want to hear evil disco, LOUD RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES

KISS 🤟 I'm ready to see how it works. I agree with KISS, they are larger than life, and it must continue. Beyond our lives, it's a piece of history now, like Mozart etc. I think KISS is looking way farther into the future....

So what it's 2024? Lipsyncing or faking playing your instruments was never considered cool. Not in 1974, lets say 50 years ago, it's not cool today, and it won't be cool tomorrow. Time has no relevancy to being genuine.
