Great points! It took me a while to get synchronized, and I can testify that all those exercises are crucial!
There are some mechanical points to make as well. A thicker pick may help increasing speed vs synchronization for some, as it creates less of a right hand lag when the soft pick flops around a little.
I remember struggling with making alternate picking sound good, until I found that the angle of the pick mattered a ton as well. Keep it flatter against the string to avoid the tonal difference between up and down, and to create a smoother experience.
Lastly, practicing without a ton of distortion will tell you what you REALLY sound like, of course!
I think your CZcams lessons, that I found through Ola, are just fantastic. Wish I had a teacher like that back when I started. It wouldn't have taken me 30 years to get to where I am today! 😂
Thanks, Jon!!
Putting in consistent years of practice is the only way no shortcuts!!!
Absolutely!
You need to practice correctly though, otherwise you'll never get there. "Correctly" is a wide term in my experience, there's not ONE way of doing it but avoiding repeating bad technique at all costs is a big one.
Excelente my friend, siempre muy utiles tus clinicas. Gracias🤘
great tips, Jon; thanks for your clear and helpful lessons!
Thank you!

Thanks!
All great tips. Practicing picking fast while playing slow is a new concept to me and I'm excited to try that out because I can see how that can help. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Jon.
Check out the playlist at the end as well, there’s a deep dive on most of the practice techniques listed😊
I've never had this problem; the problem has always been able to pick fast with the right hand. Sure, I can do it maxxed out with my wrist, but somehow all these other players like baxty and hyldemusic on youtube, are able to move their right hand so quickly, effortlessly.
So you can synchronise perfectly at your right hands top speed? Unless that’s the case you still can improve your synchronisation.
