This is basically what happens to the UK every year:
    - We think the song is quite good and think it has a good chance of winning.
    - Then we perform the song and everything is still going ok, we still think we have a chance.
    - The jury votes come on, we do not receive points from the first few juries, looks like false hope yet again.
    - When we realise this, we just start to see who we can beat at the bottom, usually another Big 5 member.
    - The jury votes end and we have a few points, but still near the bottom on the right side of the scoreboard.
    - The televoting starts to happen, and we are one of the first countries to receive points, meaning we didn't get very many, and that moves us up a few spots.
    - When televoting ends it turns out every single country overtook us and we are at the bottom again.
It's really difficult being a British ESC fan.

Let's put this into perspective. This is a good step forward on the journey that the BBC and BMG are taking us on. It's not eurovision by numbers or safe as last year's entry was. They clearly learnt from Duncan, by sending an artist with their own song that is personal to them and some creative control. I hope this take us out of the 21-26 zone as a start. Lastly, I think that BMG and BBC need to start looking for the next artist immediately after the contest in May. Give them the time to think and produce their own entry, which will deliver better results. But all in all, a good foundation to build on.

If I compare this song to say...Rag n Bone Man and the song "Human", there is a big difference, in my opinion. That song sounds more genuine and has more dynamic elements in it. The song "My last breath" is a bit monotonous and repetitive in the end and I wish that it would lift off and blow my mind but it doesn´t. But there are elements in the song that are good but it is not good enough. There are many different reasons why the songs from the UK don´t do so well in the ESC, so have realistic hopes for the future. Is it really that important for the UK to win the ESC as you already has done that in the past? There are so many different kind of songs from different genres of music coming from the UK and are doing so well all over the world anyway.
