It's not traditional, I couldn't upset the hammer stock, so I just left it long so I could get the extra weight. It works very well though, very ergonomic due to the head being curved.
One of the most beautiful blade i've seen.. It reminds of LAWIHAN and DAHONG PALAY a type of short sword in philippines. What is the name of this blade you make sir?
Yeah, it's sharp enough to shave leg hair but can you shave taint hairs? That's a true test of it's sharpness and your own skill. Practice on a stranger first maybe.
Camp knife or sword, beautiful work . Like the hand carved handle to many people rely on the sander .
That blade shape and length looks like a weapon and tool all at once without being too long to carry for field use.
Hats off brother......beautiful creation...almost handmade.....god bless u😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍
Great job, i like the way you attached the handle 👍👍
You can move metal brother! You are the power hammer!
What a beautiful knife sir, it reminds me of a dahon palay here in the Philippines. It's a big knife used as a chopper to clear foliage etc.
Thanks! I really like knives and swords from the Philippines.

What is the name of this blade you make sir?
A camp chopper
Very cool. What did you sprinkle on the handle?
dried and crushed up Japanese Maple leaf. The lacquer keeps air from getting to it and it keeps the purple color.
Beautiful work. Approximately, how long did it take ?
I'm really not sure, I lose track of time when working on blades.
Rougemont_Forge unless someone is telling switch every thirty minutes...lol
