That is why the actors cannot encourage the filming of the Megasix by saying ‘get your phones out, you’re gonna wanna film this’. These recordings are illegal, and they may already be implementing changes to make sure people are aware of that since it’s a new rule

Filming shows are illegal, and the entire bootleg community is sinking due to people trading and sharing boots that they shouldn’t. Less people are filming bootlegs as there is a big risk involved in it, and many people care about the no filming rule. Again though, as you seem unable to comprehend it, the actors are not allowed to say ‘get your phones out, you’re gonna wanna film this’ because legally, the Megasix is not allowed to be filmed. People choose to ignore it? Fine. But the actors themselves are not allowed to encourage an illegal act, hence the cutting of the ‘phones’ line

MintyMoon 100 actually many people follow the rules and assholes like you who film the show when you’re not allowed to distract from the people on stage. It also might ruin the experience for other PAYING audience members. The world doesn’t revolve around you and other people who think they’re “entitled” to film the show because you bought a ticket.

I saw it in the US twice and in Chicago we could film Megasix, but we couldn’t in St Paul 🤷🏻♀️

Why must the union be so greedy? Come on union people, the filming is part of the Six appeal. Look at the comments from London. People get excited to see the differences and the understudies. What show have people been happy to see an understudy? Grow up and let the show and its followers have their fun. Don't lose your head about this. Really, is it going to make that much of a difference? Who does it hurt? The creators are fine with it. The cast is fine with it. The audience loves it. Why must you spoil the fun? This show is a show we need right now and filming and watching the megasix is a huge part of the show experience. How many people have become excited about the show because of seeing the megasix clips people are filming? You wonder if it would be as successful as it is especially across the pond here in the US if we Americans haven't been watching these clips. A show about British history? Yawn! we have Hamilton. Don't need Six. But look at what has happened. It feels like Six has a bigger following than Hamilton. I think the creators need to pull an ALW when he said no Sarah - no Phantom. Tell the union - no filming the megasix - no show. It's your show, not theirs.
If everyone recorded it and shared it to everyone, what would be the point of seeing the show in person? It's filmed. No more reason to see it live. That means there's no reason to put the show on anymore. These union laws put in place rules to protect the performance from the moment the audience enters and leaves the theatre. Yes, the actors may want you to film the megasix, but not the entire show. The filming policy includes video and audio from phones to even professional taping. THAT'S RIGHT! MAKING A "PRO-SHOT" TAKES TIME AND MONEY SINCE THE CREW FOR FILMING MUST ABIDE BY THE EQUITY UNION LAWS SO THE ACTORS ARE NOT RINGED OUT OF ENERGY TO FILM FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF L̶I̵V̵E̴ ̷T̷H̵E̴A̶T̷R̴E̷!!! And it's not only the megasix that made it popular. The studio cast recording was famous before West End. And other shows have become successful without the audience recording it. Just look at Be More Chill. A showed that started at a regional theatre in New Jersey and has become a global sensation without an audience recording. Theatre fans don't deserve the right to just yank out their phone if they feel like it. You pay a price, whether big or small, to see people perform with conditions that they ask you to follow. Stage actors want to perform for different people every night. They have standards for others to follow if people wish to see those actors. Not every actor is comfortable being on camera. Stop thinking that you have the inalienable right to film actors perform without their permission or knowledge. Any actor in the professional theatre world will say that filming is rude and distracting. It ruins the magic of being in the moment. Filming a show can make any actor uncomfortable.
LOL. Popular online doesn't mean much ask Be More Chill. Thought people's head were gonna explode when that show came out. Didnt even last a year.
And unions are to protect the actors. Who the hell in thier right mind is gonna turn down a chance at Broadway just to piss off a union? It's just a mega six. Chill.
Knox Walsh I mean, Six’s popularity came in part because of the ability to film the final song of the show, which is also not even a song on the cast album. It’s not like anyone films the full show. I mean, I paid money to see the show this Wednesday, and I’m disappointed I don’t get the opportunity to film the mega-six. I’m not saying you should be allowed to film the whole show, but this wasn’t the audience going and being like “let me record this one song” and whipping out their phones, one of the queens literally has a line that instructs the audience to “get your phone out you’re gonna want to film this.” It’s a part of the show, and fans are disappointed because people love sitting there and watching the mega-sixes from all the different shows, and everyone dreams of getting to record their own mega-six. I got better seats for the sole purpose of the mega-six. I think I’m allowed to be disappointed because they took away my ability to record the mega-six.
@@knoxwalsh6634 But, literally the reason the show is as popular as it is and a literal WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON, is because of the Megasox videos. Its more than just people trying to film the show. Also, the Megasox is a very small 2 minute portion, and only gives you clips of each song. Its literally in the show to entice people to record and share. Its a part of the whole pop concert concept. In this case the unions are being mega greedy. This is like free publicity and they're being butts about it because this is "broadway"
Not to mention the fact that, these girls WERE being filmed in the Megasix and loved it. In fact all of them have expressed how sad they are that the union won't allow them. The union, at this point, isnt protecting the actors

When I went to see Moulin Rouge just a few months ago they told us were could film curtain call and the finale medley. They whey had an insert in the program that said it was the only time to use a camera and video. Seems odd that it's against the rules at SIX to do the same.

You can't film at Moulin Rouge anymore. Filming actors in costume/performance is not permitted per AEA regs.

banjo tails we DO put the phones away. Moulin Rouge is just special (not anymore, thanks to the union), and every other production of Six films it as well. We're actually the only production that DOESN'T film the megasix, and we don't film for any other show either. Not legally. Also, it's not necessarily for views, or even to post. It's to remember and look back on the experience.

Uhhhh they have new add ons to the costume.
they do (in addition to being extra sparkly in person)... they are just more subtle. Cleeves has the most upgrades with those boots and you can kinda see her new corset in this video.
They shortened Boleyn’s skirt (cuz Andrea is smol) and made her little sleeve things higher up! As well as a new line of studs on the top and bottom of her skirt and top ;)

If this helps I was back row mezzanine for waitress (same theatre) and it was perfectly fine visually and audio 😂
@@hunnybunny1161 The sound system for Waitress is a completely different system than Six's. Each production brings in their own everything. Though, I don't anticipate there being any issues - Broadway productions design every element for every seat. At some point during production they will have sat in every seat to see how the production looks and sounds.

yeah we're all upset about the union rules of no filming but hopefully they get a tour cast when broadway reopens and mostly everywhere the tour cast goes you'll be allowed to film

So all the ladys in waiting are called Maggie, Bessie, Joan, and Maria? Always thought it was their real names, guess they use the same ones for every version. Wonder why those names were chosen
They are named after Henry's many mistresses/the queens ladies in waiting. For example Elizabeth "Bessie" Blount was Anna of Cleves lady in waiting, but also a mistress to Henry and gave him a bastard son.
What did the costume look like underneath cleves jacket
She does a quick change in her song and it’s sooo good but at the end of all you wanna do she puts back her jacket and shorts only so the costume underneath is the costume she reveals

I hope this has a long life in new york. I love the show but I think the theater it's in is a bit too big. This show could totally pull an Avenue Q and last a decade off-broadway in my opinion.

Personally, I wish they went to the Lyceum Theatre because of the purple interior which would go great with a purple themed show.
