Hi friends and not-yet-friends! Vancouver, BC is one of the most vegan-friendly cities and some of the best restaurants. I couldn't share them all with you but I picked out a few of my favourite vegan and vegan-friendly eateries for this video. Including:
- Chickpea for vegan breakfast with Middle Eastern influence on Main St.,
- Catfe for dose of caffeine and cute cats,
- Virtuous Pie at UBC for vegan pizza and ice cream, and
- Do Chay for vegan Vietnamese cuisine in East Van.

The eggplant dish looks so good! I love the melt in your mouth eggplant, it I cannot seem to make it at home :/
The coconut cakes is a Thai street snack. It’s called Kanom Krok ( ขนมครก ) You could make it at home if you have a takoyaki maker/pan! It’s made of canned coconut milk with flour and sugar/salt. You could top it with different things like green onions (classic), corn, pumpkin, etc
It was awesome!! A different dish altogether but have you tried my spicy deep-fried eggplant recipe? It's that' melt in your mouth eggplant but crispy on the outside :-)
And OMG I should have known!! I saw the coconut rice cakes recipe on Hot Thai Kitchen here on CZcams before. Now I know where to go to learn. Thanks for that tip!!

Girl! Sweet potato in Grilled cheese is amazing! I am not vegan, but I make a caramelized onion and sweet potato spread with a bit chili seasoning spread that on bread and broil a few slices of brie cheese/ or whatever vegan cheese of choice for like a few minutes...perfection! Lol. I love your channel and you❤!

Welcome back to Vancouver Mary. The coconut rice cakes look like Thai desert sold on Thailand street foods which is very yummy. I will definitely try these restaurants. Thanks for your reviews.
Ya! Another reader said they look like Kanom Krok. But they are Banh Khat (Vietnamese). From what I can tell, they are very similar but batter is a bit different.

I SO agree with you on that almond milk remark. I used to use it in dishes and started to notice this weird, underlying flavor in some of the food I made and it took me ages of trial and error to realize that it was that that was causing it! Never again hahaha

'doh - chai' like chai tea! I've been meaning to try this place but I'm in Surrey and it's always a hassle to get downtown. Because of that I forget how blessed Vancouver is for having so many vegan options. Thank you for sharing!

Isn't it strange that I live in Sweden yet I love to see what you ate in Vancouver? xD I am so jealous of all the vegan resturants in Canada and the US! I have never been to a vegan restaurant in my liiiife. Although some places are starting to have vegan menues now which is amazing! And the beyond burger just arrived so there is much hope..

I was in Vancouver for a week and went to Meet in Yaletown 3 times...Vegan Cave pizza is also great.

All time faVOURITE vegan meal I had in Vancouver was the vegan ramen from Jinya Ramen...

I haven't had the one in Vancouver but we have Jinya in Calgary too --I think the menu is the same. AND IT'S SO GOOD. Thanks for reminding me I need get some again soon :-)

I never liked tofu much until I ate roasted smoked tofu. It is so delicious. Sometimes I eat it on its own, like popcorn or crisps.

Those pancakes didn't look like they were cooked all the way through.
They tasted cooked. Just super dense. Like they didn't have enough leavener.
If I'm curious about something I tend to ask. Maybe next time just ask the restaurant staff? ;-)
