God, do I wish people would stop speccing out their trucks with that electronic deathtrap Bendix Wingman anti collision mitigation system. It's SO dangerous. It locks up my brakes for everything but cars. Signs, bridges, bridge shadows on sunny days, snow flurries, rain, mist kicked up from car tires in the other lane, construction cones. Hell, if you're pulling fully loaded and you're trying to pick up as much speed as you can to make it up an oncoming hill - if that hill is steep enough, the Bendix Wingman system will think the inclined road is a car and will lock up your brakes at the very start of the hill, so you're stuck doing 15-20 up 100% of the hill. Is there any way to remove Bendix Wingman from an International truck once it leaves the factory with it equipped?
We're sorry to hear you're not happy with the Bendix Wingman System, as most dealerships will not remove the system because of legalities. Should you be involved in a wreck after this system has been removed, you run the risk of serious lawsuits for having removed it.
