really awesome video thanks for showing us
I absolutely love these old advertising videos. I could spend days and days watching them.
Me too! Definitely a blast from the past!
I can't think this would be considered old. Especially with a Cummins. Not even the venerable Moline engine. I often wondered what happened to White. I'm intrested in most anything but Deere.
I love how it shows the 2255 like it was on every farm
Yeah, the 2255 was the latest and greatest so that’s probably why
I have one of the 6195 toys with the engraving on the top, same part number as yours. I bought it off of the dealer shelf back when they were new. I had it out of the box for a while, but now it's back in the box and on display in my living room behind a glass door where it stays pretty much dust free. The dealer was Kruseman Implement in Sully, IA.
Cool! That’s one of those things you’ve seen over the years and never really paid attention to until it was pointed out.
😎
Hey, I have one of those toys! Boy do those videos bring back memories, and add that it was 30 years ago, I now feel old. They sent us the hidden tractor on the truck video, dad would play that for customers. They played it at the dealer meeting and then did what you saw, turned on the fog machines and drove them out in front of bleachers full of dealers with much fanfare. Later they took us on a factory tour and had a few tractors to test drive, even a Deere and a Magnum. I drove those to compare, but dad wouldn't. They had a 6175 on a wheel dyno so we could try them under load. I tried them all and have pictures somewhere. Then on the last day there was free beer and you could place your orders, in that order. Dad was never a beer drinker, but he still placed an order for a 6195 and that's how we got that toy. It took us the better part of a year to get that tractor on the lot, as our order kept getting bumped. Sold tractors were built first, which makes sense, but it's tougher to sell a tractor if the customer can't see it. They did have a few units they kept transferring around so the dealers could have something to show off. We had a 2wd 6175 here for a few weeks. It had 20.8-42s and would do about 27 mph down the road. That would have been a nice wagon hauler.
That’s so cool!!
They were a good tractor with Cummins engines and funk transmission. We had Magnums and only downfall with the white was lacking dealer support.
Yes, that was one of the worst things. They just didn’t have enough dealers that stuck around through all the hard times. These tractors were great but without easy access to parts it’s hard to sell.
Our Oliver dealer stop sell new tractors when white name replaced Oliver they told us white was junk but they would still repair any oliver ever made and also the great Cockshutt line
I don’t know if I would’ve went that far, because a lot of the engineers were still the same that were building the Oliver‘s. I think the biggest problem was quality control during that time. I’m sure that turned off a lot of dealers to staying on through all the turbulence.
Thanks Michael 😊
Thanks!!
I demoed a new 6195 way back in the day. They was a real nice tractor.
In their day they were probably the best in the west. The cab is really nice. Everything is easy to reach and you can see out of them very well.
@@rosstheoliverman All the whites from the 70’s on had a better cab than anything out there. They was quite and air tight.
❤👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Paul!
Good video. We just bought a 6175.
Awesome! I bet you’ll like driving it!
Nice ! I have. a 6175 1nd 6195 I like the tractors, With 8.3 Cummins and Deere funk trans mission and white rear end I don't think you can go wrong. I don't have any toys of them yet!
Cool You have two of them!
@@rosstheoliverman And a 185 2-135 2-105 1850 wheatland 1650 1550 and a 1555 loader special
Nice video. Spent many hours on a case 970 with a power shift. It was a nice set up
Power shift is definitely handy!
M and my brother own a 6175 white. It's been a really awesome tractor so far had it 6yrs. It replaced an 8650 jd we had nothing but issues with
I think they’re great tractors. The only potential trouble area really is the electronics. As long as you keep the rest of the thing serviced and maintained it should be good to go for a long time. Mine survived a dairy farm so they must be pretty tough. 🤣
Interesting 👍👍
Thanks Tom!
Good stuff 👍
Thanks Gary!
White ,New Idea was nice equipment now Agco?
Yeah, back in the 80s and early 90s they did a lot of buying each other out
Ok I fell for it lol ! I carry fuel to a farmer that has a 6000 series.
Lol. It’s not Clickbait if it’s kind of true right? 🤣
Interesting video on that White tractor Ross! I sure hope you feel better than you sound Ross?! I hope you get better asap!!
Thanks Donald!
That is Awesome. Enjoy the video of the whites Was that was put together at Coldwater Ohio ,New Idea? I live 1/2 hr from there. Went to the 100Th Anniversary Celebration. Remember seeing AGCO-Allis ,White & Massys on the Assembly Line.Keep your videos coming.
As far as I know when they closed Charles City, they moved to cold water.
@@rosstheoliverman Wish I could have taken picture s. Didn't want to get in trouble. Wish someone had some pictures to share. I bought a few new idea things at a auction a few yrs ago from a collector & or former employee. Can't remember. The place was Awesome.
Ross what white tractors did you like and what engine did you like white tractors ? Thanks you again
Well I like them all lol… It would really be hard to pick a favorite. I like the articulated ones, but I really like the styling of the later series 3 with the red stripe. They are beautiful tractors.
My 6195 toy is in my living room with my other toys. I can't find the box to see if it matches the number on your box.
If it has weights on the front and the hood comes off it’s probably the same
Good video - lots of good information. And stop this sick crap - I know you're just attention-seeking. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, hope you feel better soon, my friend.
Thanks Charlie! 🤣
