My theory is that he sat on the chair, because he gave up. The description the twitter gave states that Mono is a determined child, and hardly gives up on a task before it's completed. Think about what his first goal was, to reach the Signal Tower, then his other goal, it was to save Six....twice. However the second time, when he saved her, and Six dropped him, something changed in him. He had no purpose left to fulfill, so he just gave up. Decided to just waste away in there, until he got older, and then got a new goal to achieve.

imo, i think he's dead, the moment those flesh eye walls closed in on him, his body ceases to exist, and what we're seeing with him in that room is the Tower's own purgatory for his soul/mind, nothing left to do but wait and watch the tower twist his soul into nightmare fuel

I think his goal never changed, he wanted to find and “rescue” six and the description of the Thin man reads as follows:
_As the ever-present hum of The Transmission chokes the airwaves, The Thin Man continues his endless journey through this desolate place, haunting the shadows, _*_searching for something_*
In a way his main goal through the game never changed even as he transformed into the Thin man, he is still looking for Six.

One thing I’ve noticed is that Mono's eyes seem to be completely black, which could be why he has a bag over his head. One fo the reasons six dropped his was because she saw his face for the first time and connected the dark eyes with the thin man/his powers.
Also throughout the games and comics it seems like everything is after children, either to use them or kill them. What if children, or their nightmares, are being used to fuel the world around them. The eye, the north wind, the ferryman, the thin man and the lady all seem to be after children. In the case of Mono he has his TV abilities and a fear of being alone so the eye/thin man hunt him down and use his nightmares to power the pale city. The world could quite literally be a bunch of ‘little nightmares’ of children being used and manipulated by the monsters of this world.

The ending sequence of Secrets of The Maw focuses in on the television seen within the Janitors living quarters. On this television is the silhouette of the Thin Man, which is depicted in a similar fashion to when Mono first released the Thin Man from within the Signal Tower.
Does this imply that the Thin Man, who we know is an adult Mono, is pursing Six. Possibly to avenge himself upon her. Both Six and Mono are incredibly powerful individuals, so we can only assume that there will be a final confrontation that’ll end in catastrophe.

The signal tower eventually corrupts you and turns you fully evil. It brings out the evil in you once it is able to find a way to break you. The driving point for this event was the betrayal by Six, which made Mono give in to his darker side. I believe Mono and Thin Man are the same people, but connected by the corridor of time, one of the inmate powers belonging to Mono that was unfortunately corrupted and usurped by evil of the signal tower.

hello! upon replaying little nightmares 2 i noticed another detail that may make more sense as well. after you get dropped and are with the eyes, if you attempt to run in any other direction away from the chair, another identical one just appears. i tried to run in various directions for a while just to have the same thing happen again. also, as we know, inside of the tower time is warped. if mono just never sat down, perhaps no time would pass, and he would never grow or be able to get out. maybe when he sat in the chair, time was sped up inside the tower so mono could age quicker, too. or maybe he just aged at the same pace. overall, i find it interesting how there’s no end to that area with the chair and it’s impossible to escape it.

Because the teacher has her students, doctor has his patients, thin man also can be looked at as lonely but he uses that to punish other children who betrayed him.
Also the goal of the thin man, besides doing the work of the eye, is to make everyone feel that loneliness he felt, taking kids from a friend etc, he just wants everyone to feel lonely.

We can assume that the exterior of the Signal Tower is a man-made structure, given that it was constructed with a purpose in mind.
Though the interior is what I think most would consider unfathomable circumstances. The known reality as become incredibly warped, as seen with the seemingly endless corridors and various floating objects present within the tower. It is truly surreal. One of the more otherworldly aspects of the tower is the presence of a hazed pink light whose source is hidden within the tower’s structure.
So it would be safe to assume that the interior of the tower is a pocket reality or some other otherworldly phenomenon that warps the surrounding environment.
The tower has the ability to essentially manifest, or at least project the future of those who stay within, as seen with Six’s room within the tower. Various items within the Maw were present, which has yet to come in the timeline.
The Signal Tower emits an ever humming pulse of energy into the atmosphere that irreversibly distorts the minds and bodies of those who are within close proximity or have endured prolonged exposure. The energy that emits from the tower appears to be entwined with a broadcast frequency, which is seen throughout the televisions within Pale City.
The various channels essentially render the Pale City citizens brain-dead, which allows for an all the more easier process of consumption. The bodies of these viewers are literally sucked through the televisions and are then transported to the Signal Tower, where their eroded biomass acts as a foundation for the interior of the Signal Tower.

Wait a minute, i just realized something while watching this video, about the signal tower. The signal tower has been shown to be able to use monos power as long as it has him at its disposal, and the power to absorb life force basically(since it absorbs the flesh of viewers).
Now, after the game, we see six leave a TV screen, and glitch six sends her to the maw, but probably not to become the next lady, because the ladies predececor was the pretender from very little nightmares probably.
Now, six has been shown to absorb power by eating flesh at the end of the first game, where she aquired the power to absorb life force, and was able to use monos power for a little bit after touching him, see where i'm going?
Glitch six is also ineresting here, because my personal theory is that glitches fill the gaps left when kids are removed from the time loop, which is why mono can patch things up again, and thin man creates one after taking six, so that would imply that six is somehow outside the timeloop, but the timeloop version of her still follows her around, but only visible during hunger attacks? We also see in the first game glitch six is more solid and dark than in number 2, implying that she is no longer made of tv static, to me it sounds like she might have broken the timeline.
Now what else in the games has the power to absorb life force and use monos power while having him there... the signal tower maybe? And since six has been shown to eat whatever she sees when she's hungry, and she is somehow disconnected from the loop, would it be a stretch to say shell eventually eat something with a more extreme power?
Yes ladies and gentlemen, i think six will eat the(or part of the) signal tower, and either become it, or destroy it, ending the story.
(Or the games just end here and the loop continues but i still like this theory)

Mono is useless to six when she get kidnapped and also let thin man out he opened the door
Then when mono was under the bed six reaches out for help but mono stays hidden mono betrayed six six got betrayed by the girl in the yellow rain coat they both betrayed her six is mad this is the last time she ever relies on anyone

If mono dies no thin man if no thin man no tower if no tower no little nightmares yes six hand the fate of the world in her hand
If six dies mono won’t get betrayed and won’t get stuck in the tower and if mono isn’t in the tower the tower will die a hitch make it little nightmares is over but the loop continues for ever

The have short range pistol with little recoil and the shoot three times then they go to get more bullets and you go through a food table with drunk pirates and you have to sneak and in hind sight. The captain you see as you sneak in on his bedroom on the boat you sneak under the bed and he wakes up his face is dropping off and he wears a long red coat his and long hands. He has a white bushy beard and hair all over his face. His legs are bones. He walks around with a musket. Unlike the hunter he is fast and will easily catch you. Has you reach the upper deck you see people shackled working and pirates beating them cause the don't do the job fast enough if the see you the will chase you and take you to the captain In hope to not be a slave anymore

If you noticed, under the bed where Mono hid there were eyes drawn with chalk. If you stand anywhere else or hide with Six, Thin Man catches you. Maybe the eyes drawn by chalk serves like a ward so thin man can fuck off, or something? The drawings by the wall should say the past owner had encountered the Thin Man more than once.
I mean, when Mono fell he didn't like being looked at by the eyes and constructed a room so he can be on his own without any eyes to judge him. He learned that his face being exposed is bad since nobody liked to see his face, to the point of hating him. You find alot of chalk drawings full of eyes like the Bullies, one with the dunce cap and the other that got crushed by Six.

one of the most hoed characters in gaming history, definitely heartbroken because mono desperately tries to save six even after being injured and then having to fight his future self who is trying to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life, i say that because initially he was after six clearly for revenge but he didn't grab her with hostility he captured her then confronted his younger self, the pale city is the way it is because of mono's and the eye's abilities from when mono is betrayed and he excepts his fate, but it seems he had his own agenda by luring his younger self to free him and trying to separate his younger self from six, but his younger self is stronger then he becomes the thin man and so on until mono does something different.

This is just my theory, in my opinion Mono is not trapped in the black tower for years, but he immediately grows quickly like six when he was in the black tower. And if we remember the end of the scene credits in DLC Little Nightmares 1, entitled Residence, I think the appearance of the thin man at the end of the TV is a mono that has become thin man, knowing if the DLC timeline is only a few minutes or hours before the timeline little nightmares 1 started, which could mean that this incident must have been after the incident of Little Nightmares 2. And because of this I assumed that the mono that had become thin man would come back into action, I just don't know when, and I also hope a little if mono can still be saved. if we remember when six became a monster, we destroyed the music box and six returned to its original form, I thought that mono might still be able to return to its original form, but I don't know whether this happens or not, inj is just my weird theory. Sorry because my english is bad :') 🙏🏽

After thinking on it, I think maybe we give Six too much credit for knowing Mono will become the thin man. I agree that his identity probably led to her betrayal but to me if the tower was crumbling and she left Mono behind, there would be no memories of her time with him which probably caused her pain. Part of me wonders if she had consciousness as monster Six and remembered that he took her source of comfort (music box) and simply wanted to get away from him.

  • @FranciscoMartinez-pj3pz

First off I love the creative juices flowing with this video 😎👍⭐
Second I just thought of this little theory:
The Tv's call the people towards it because mono wants people to become closer to him, the feeling of not being alone, smiling with a false reality of "they love me." With the heroic young man, never coming to terms with facing his true feelings.

  • @Litlrox
    @Litlrox Před 3 lety +2

2:10 No, I don’t think it took years. I think it took moments. Six is still a child in the first game, which is the sequel to LN2 and at the end of the DLC, the tv turns on showing the thin man. You can hear seagulls in the background before tv is turned on. He is looking for Six. 3:57 No, he replaced someone else. It was never Mono that took Six, it was someone else that became the thin man. The thin man existed before Mono became one. Mono became what he feared. The reason why Six doesn’t become the thin man because the thin man existed and that wasn’t her fear. She feared Mono. Every time you get to Six while she’s as a giant, you break down the door with an ax like the beginning of the game. 8:35 No, he doesn’t willing do so. He’s trapped in there so you’re not “willingly” staying there. He’s trapped and depressed. He feared being the thin man and he feared being alone. Remember he was trying to escape so you can’t say he was willing to stay there. He had no choice.

A theory of mine is, that the Thin man is a vessel for the tower... And that the tower sees Mono as a new, much stronger vessel. There is a detail that when Mono teleports for the first time, you can see an eye in a fleshy wall for a brief moment... The same thing you can see in the tower at the end, so maybe his powers are connected to the tower?
I also believe that it is the tower who destroys the thin man, not Mono... When I recall correctly is the thin man looking up to the tower before disappearing, as if to look in shock at his "master" now betraying and destroying him... And the tower is then pretty much welcoming Mono, opening the door for him to enter.
Also, you can see Mono being in pain when the eyes get closer to him while he's on the chair, probably torturing him mentally, only to then disappear.... Maybe he accepted his fate at that point of the tower took over...

My theory about this is that he there is literally nothing else he can do. When the chair is in the corridor of flesh, there's no where else for him to go, (I looked), and the chair is the only thing not made of flesh and eyes, which he probably wanted to stop touching because gross and scary. Then, when the room turns into an actual room, there's no windows, cracks in the wall, way to climb up the walls (not that it matters as there's a ceiling as well), and only 1 door, except the door has no handle from the inside.
I believe that he can sort of "project" a part of himself out of the room (you can see him going after that one kid in the second comic and he can't do that if he can't get out in some way) but he's still physically stuck there. Like his conscience may not be there, but he's still bound there, you know. He can still physically interact with objects and people when he does that. So, using that method, he can access the entire rest of the tower... except the hall that leads to the door he's trapped behind. Any time he tries to go down that corridor to free himself, he glitches out and is sucked back into his actual body.
Also, he probably wasn't just sitting there for all those years, he probably got up to stretch or walk around every once on a while. We just see little snap shots over the years he was there, little flashes, who knows what he could've been doing during the times in-between each snap shot

Is there a possibility that the Thin Man is actually the Fairy/ Ferry Man in disguise and that's the real reason Six drops him at the end of the game? Because she has mixed feelings about him in the comics? It might not be anything, but it's something I thought was kind of interesting. Keep up the awesome work GamerSault!

why I think he has the bag over his face
first, there are drawings in all kid rooms that depict the thin man and the single tower even tho not near a working TV.
Theory; when the world's adults (monsters) were kids they all had dreams/nightmares about the Thin Man embedded in their heads. Mono probably lived in the forest alone with a bag over his head because he probably walked around without it and was immediately attacked by anyone who saw his face.
so that's also why Six drops Mono because it's the first time she sees him without Mono's bag.
    two things that support this
    1) first meeting Six she drew the single tower on the wall implying she already knows its importance.
    2) she stopped to grab mono at the and was fully committed to saving him until she got to see Mono's face for the first time then she hesitated and dropped him.

(typing this before i fully finished the vid so sorry if you said this already) i think mono had to be possessed by the eye to sit in the chair for that long. first off why is there a chair in the middle of the eye gunk? it led him to that and he stayed for a long time. the way mono is described i'd think he'd at least make some attempt to escape. he was depressed being betrayed by six but i don't think it would last to the point where he just stayed there. then again he'd probably been tired of running and hiding and risking his life in the pale city, and for all that to lead to such a betrayal. six and mono holding hands in the game showed a bond, so i can understand how that would hurt him so much. she was probably his longest standing friend because so many kids were being snatched up. and him knowing the fate that kids endured i could see why he would sit alone and let himself grow old, he at least had some power then. i just finished watching the 2nd game playthrough and i'm loving all the theories.

He gave up because we went through all that and still remains in the TV realm.....
An example can be when you write a paragraph for school and do all the required work.....and still get a C 🤣😂🤣

I think the reason thin man is so slow is because he sat for so long.

I have my own theory as to why Six betrayed Mono.
She is afraid. (Not afraid of her hunger taking over because that happened after she betrayed him. Kinda like a karma sorta thing.) She is afraid of his powers and what could turn him into (in this case, The Thin Man). Before when Mono let Future Mono escape, at the time when he comes crashing back you can see Six trying to help him get up. Mono springs up which startled Six. Six gestures for him to quickly get up. Then, the hands appear on the tv. Six looks at the tv, and back at Mono. As soon as the arm comes out she realized that Mono made a mistake and hauls ass leaving him behind because (tbh it *is* his fault but it's an endless loop so I give mercy this time) he freed something dangerous.
Six gets captured by Thin Man and if I remember correctly, she becomes corrupted. (So it's basically not only Future Mono's fault for corrupting six but also Mono for freeing himself out of curiosity. Poor Mono.😞)
Time Skip! After Mono brings back to her senses, she looks at her music box that she used to adore so much. I feel like this scene builds up her hatred for Mono as you can see her slowly looking back at Mono however it's interrupted by the Eye Monster.
Time Skip again! When she grabs Mono's hand she looks at his face probably remembering looking up at the Thin Man when he took her (like down the hall and into the room of corruption or something). She saw the resemblance in their faces. Then it clicked. Finally, *she let go.*

@@LittleLad9 there's literally no visual proof of time travel at all and it doesn't fit the realm of Little Nightmares.
this is my theory but Thin Man isn't some person that Mono 'grows up' to be, he's distorted into Thin man, cuz Thin Man is an entity like ghost figure, a projection from the Tower, he's the only character in the entire franchise that doesn't leave a corpse when he dies, he's not a physical being and has no real thought process. in short, its a puppet, designed by the tower to take children away or anyone who resists the tower's signal (as its the mainplot point of the entire game, not time travel). what happens to Mono at the end is pretty terrible, i think he dies, his soul is sorta imprisoned in the tower to and twisted into its image, more of a continuation of Thin Man then a 'reloop'
Little Nightmares thrives on visual cues in story telling, until I actually SEE time-travelling as clearly as gnome/kid shadows or Mono going through TVs, its hard to believe, there's too much 'off screen' ideas that fits more into perspective then fact
Tower is clearly the one that creates it all, thats the real villain

My theory, when 6 gets captured by the thin man, the thin man tells 6 everything about the thin man being mono, along with that she gets really angry and frustrated at mono. So when 6 has to pull mono up she doesn't, because she knows everything. When mono becomes the thin man he goes for 6 because now he hates her.

  • @dakshm5042

my theory is that this is a loop so the hanging man we see in ln 1 is the thin man and when the game ends mono becomes the thin man but then hangs himself for the loop to go on(repeating ln 1 and 2)because he knows that there is no happy ending nor a different one as the end shows six letting Mono fall. This also shows that the thin man knew this would happen so he tried to finish the loop quicker but couldn't since the loop is making Mono go on.

Well here what I think, mabye mono is aware that he'll become the thin man, and for some odd reason maybe he thinks that sixth can help him get out of the cycle... As time goes on with mono and sixth's friendship mono starts thinking that their's hope that he won't end up meeting his doom or turning into the thin man. But when sixth saw what he was (potentially the thin man trying to harm them) she let go so she wouldn't have to fear anymore. But sixth fail to understand that he was trying to break the cycle but sixth couldn't or didn't want to see beyond that.. So mono accepts who he is and turns into the thin man (but doesn't enjoy it) so he wanted to change it since he never wanted to become this in the first place thus kidnapping sixth so mono could walk alone, since maybe he realizes that sixth was the problem and also an act of revenge...

Cut and dry case to me . Mono wears the bag to hide who he is to escape . He knows his escape is through six so he wears it so she doesn’t know who he is . Six gets captured by thin man she knows who he is cause the time spent were she was could be infinite . She at the end when they are running sees mono for the first time realizes he is thin man and out of either fear or knowing what he will become drops him maybe thinking of breaking the circle killing him or know if he is free something terrible could happen so she has to keep the cycle of him trying to break out . I know a guy ;)

Is the tower how every powerful being in the universe gets their powers by dropping and touching the eye monster?

    • @Vanerov
      @Vanerov Před 2 lety

The Tower exists for The Transmission, which is The Thin Man's Transmission, The Thin Man isn't affected by it at all because he's using The Transmission he created by his supernatural powers to control the residents of The Pale City. Not all of what I stated here is confirmed, but some of it is when the official Bandai Namco website states "While the everlasting Transmission chokes the airwaves, The Thin Man is on an endless journey searching for something.", this is relevant because The Thin Man is doing something by his own will when The Transmission is there, an interview with someone involved with Little Nightmares 2 as stated that The Signal Tower exists for the purpose of The Transmission, so I logically added the fact that The Signal Tower is somewhat of a tool used by The Thin Man to spread his Transmission to somehow get this something he's been searching for.
