Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here ➡️ bensworx.etsy.com
It would have solved your floating problem if you had done it in 3 layers instead of 2. A base layer, a thin layer to set the candy in place, and then a final layer once the candy could no longer move. That would also allow you to make sure none of the candy touched the edges so it would all be fully encased. I noticed that mass pour was causing the candy to move around.
I will be VERY interested in seeing how this one ages. Can you revisit it over time?
Do you wanna know something Mr. Ben? That’s where I live Hershey Pennsylvania I seen you got some Hershey , Reese’s peanut butter cups I see you got some Marathon bars that’s what we used to call them in America when they were made here now Cadberry calls them something else curly whirly bars or I used to love them when I was a kid
What Happened To The First One You Made??? Lol
make the legs 4 giant candy corns
For the legs, do a staple for four Holidays. Christmas leg, candy canes. Halloween, candy corn. Easter, mini eggs/cream eggs/easter bunnies, Valentine's Day, cinnamon hearts, message hearts, chocolates and roses.
I like it 👍
Great idea
Candy corn lol, can we even get that in Aus?
@@drhannibellelol and who likes that crap anyway lol
Well said.
My husband is a major chocoholic and says he now has video evidence of chocolate abuse. 😂😂 We both LOVE the table and think coasters with the wrappers would be an awesome addition. 😊
😂
I was thinking coasters with the wrappers too.
Tell your husband I felt the same way. 😄
@@diamondperidot I will! 😂
I'm surprised the heat of the resin didn't cause the chocolates to melt. Love it no matter what.
Ditto
The slow cure resin produces less heat, probably the saving grace. I bet it was borderline!
Don't they put a wax in Australian chocolate to prevent melting due to ambient temperatures? This is apparently why Brits hate Australian Cadburys because the texture and taste is quite different.
The legs should have the empty wrapers incorporated into then
I could not have that around would just be cruel. All that chocolate.
The table turned out really awesome! It's making me hungry for chocolate 🍫. 😅 I'm not sure about the legs. Maybe use wood that is the color of dark chocolate to make the table top stand out more. 😊💜
Thanks Mel 😊 🍫
How about making the legs look like Flake bars, or a couple of Curly Wurlys in an X formation :)
Love your work Ben! I recently moved into college in Colorado USA and brought your egg with me! Sits on my lamp and glows when my lamp is on! Your still the only artist I’ve ever bought a piece from. Keep being amazing!
Reminds me of my youth, a department store near me sold candy in resin as magnets. I was fascinated with them.
I don't know how it might work, but lollipop legs was my first thought.
The question is…did you sample some of the chocolates? 😂 that is literally sweet! I think if you make the legs look like “melting” chocolate would be cool!
I have to say I didn't think it was going to turn out like that, I thought for sure that some of the chocolate would melt and the M&Ms colors would run, but I was happy to see it turn out so awesome. It looks amazing.
I am not sure how to do the legs but it would be cool if you could incorporate the wrappers into them some how.
Looks really good! For legs, maybe long candies like twizzlers, Musk sticks, nerds rope, Toblerone, etc
I think, for the legs, something simples like a three footed stool with color from one of the darker chocolates like the mint patty would really help the table stand out. If you want to be a bit cheeky make bottoms of the legs look like M&Ms or something colorful, but overall, I would want that top to stand out so a minimal approach could really be the thing.
I kinda like the idea of candy striped poles as the legs!!!
You could use some lollipops/lollies and cast them for the legs sticking with the candy theme (using what us american call lollipops the ones with sticks would be interesting as they would be able to be considered support with the support.)
Candycane legs are the obvious choice. What is that dark chocolate bar with the red inside? Looks so good!
Cherry Ripe. And yup, they’re amazing
Great job, love the crystal clear finish, you got that down to a fine art. Legs, I think smarty legs would be cool. Btw I have stopped eating sweeties/choc/cake for around 8wks needless to say this video was torture, I'm about to ask Nicole to shop for me 😂Thank you👍
Thanks Alison, 😂 I’m sorry
Can you make some resin legs with liquorice Allsorts inside? I think that would look amazing.
Pretzel sticks for the legs!!! Chocolates and pretzels are always a great combination!
Hi Ben & Nicole, the table top turned out brilliant. Maybe you use the wrappers from the chocolates you used 🤔. Plus in a few years if the wrappers change you have the olds one's. Just an idea. Have a great weekend.
Ditto. Lol
Very nice! Can't believe there isn't a "bite" taken out of a candy 🍬🍬🍬! Love it!
Thankyou
This was a cute idea. Would look great in a candy shop or make a cute kids table.
Make a Lazy Susan!!! It's perfect for sitting in the middle is a table as a Lazy Susan. I love it!
Thanks Lynn 😊
I say pedestal legs as pretzels. Perfect combo of sweet and salty. The pedestal legs would give it proper support for such a massive table.
The clarity of the resin is amazing!
As always, you did a beautiful job. I thought the resin would melt the chocolate. I can't wait to see it finished.
That is the magic of slow-cure resin. The slower the cure, the less heat. The faster the cure, the more heat.
Thanks, didn't know that.
3 ideas for the legs both involve making legs out of resin. 1st idea take a bunch of chocolate such as "Original Sixlets Chocolate Candy Six Ball Tube Bag" I found these on Amazon. 2nd idea is to mix Hershey's chocolate powder drink mix into the resin. 3rd idea mix Hershey's chocolate syrup into the resin.
The tabletop speaks for itself. 3 simple walnut turned legs and get back to working with some wood. Might make for a good contrast! Great video! Much asmr!
Amazing project, my mouth waters every time I look at it. Keep up the good work my wife and I watch your channel all the time.
Thankyou
One with the wrappers left on might be cool too... For chocolate lovers around the world! 👍
It looks awesome. Now really want a Crunchie.
A crunchie, curly wurly or flake, or all three.
Well, there goes my diabetes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Legs. Solid wood, wrap the chocolate wrappers around the legs to cover them, put a covering layer of resin on the wrappers or put legs in a mould and make a thicker cover over the legs then turn them down so you have a 2 to 4mm protective layer over the wrappers.
But what do I know. 😂
I know the top is chocolate themed, but I think legs to be made to look like twizzlers would look great to play off some of the little red chocolates in the top. It could have a top skirting to look like twizzlers and then 3 or 4 legs that look like twizzlers coming down. Depending on how tall it is made, it could have a bottom shelf with the edges to look like twizzlers as well. Just a thought. Awesome looking project as usual!!!
Very cool! What about twisted wrought iron for the legs? Would look like liquorice.
Genius! However, what about liquorice in resin that looks like wrought iron…?
That's the song that Mr Electricity uses to test and demonstrate his work. Make tootsie roll table legs.
My grandmother always said "don't play with food!" but THAT turned out to be an incredibly great table!
Candycane / Barberpole style legs would be just perfect. Or, a cake-stand style center leg with a wide flared foot perhaps.
I would have used the labels rather than the candies themselves, but your projects still looks great! I agree with some of the other commenters, legs poured in such a way so that they look like candy canes. The holiday themed ones sound interesting too.
You and me both (and eaten all the contents because I really hate waste…). 😋😂
I seriously thought is was going to be a chocolate river inside!! 😊LOVE IT!!!! That would be so cute in a kids room❤
Candy cane legs, perhaps crossed over. The top looks amazing!
Amazing! You know the finish is crystal when you can see your face reflection and the clouds when it was outside!
Candy Bar legs would be great, continuing the theme, maybe try risking in the wrappers this time but in the vac chamber first like the bars that had air.
I'm so glad he didn't leave the wrappers on they were driving me up the wall with how much they drew attention from the rest of the composition.
Lots of good leg ideas already! I was thinking Twizzlers.
For the legs do the same thing, make resin cylinders full of more of these chocolates. Beautifully done.
Candy Cane legs would be cool
Amazing project love it
Thankyou
Rainbow Candy cane legs would look amazing in my opinion. Your tabletop is definitely one stunning piece of ART❤❤❤
You know like the big ones for the special occasions
Oh Ben, my heart cried when I saw you resin all those chocolates. I am a serious chocoholic. The table did turn out spectacular, though.
Love it! I presume the mint patty didn’t stay down, so you had to do a second one? 🤓 Legs, 🤔 3 Toblerone shaped wooden legs?
Thankyou, one had to vacate
Loved the design. Question.. why can’t you do a couple millimeter pour after the white base layer to cement the bottom of the candy down. Then do the rest of the thick pour?
Candy Cane legs! you can do 3 legs that cross each other under the table or 4 legs going straight up and down
Hello from the USA. Maybe, for the legs, put the wrappers, torn, like being ripped opened by a child, from each candy in the top. Make them look like they are falling. Just a thought. Cool video. Thank you.😊
I like the sugestions some made here, the Candycanes or the melted cocolate. But i think a single Flowerstem in the midle and the plate as a Flowercenter were also awesome.
Aye, my immediate inspiration is legs that look like red licorice. Candy related to fit the theme without being so much that it takes away from the table top itself being the main view of the piece. That's just how I'd do it though, do it as you like! I'd love to see it regardless 😊
really looks great!! Candy legs will be really awesome! Jelly beans or Jelly bellies might be one idea for resin cast legs.
Thankyou! Yeah I think that would be cool
That’s one yummy looking table top! Def candy legs!
I would go with Metal Twizzlers Legs. Great job
Looks amazing Ben, but I think wood legs would emphasise the top and not over loading the look of the table. But I’m sure what ever you do with the table, it will still look amazing. X
That table is fantastic. I said it looks like glass as you did in the video. You don’t have to be humble about this one. Amazing.
For the legs, you could do candy canes. But you could possibly use that Australian beach wood you usually use to do a crystal or rock candy look
Love the table!! Maybe use toblerone chocolate for the legs!
Thanks Mate, yeah that would be cool
My daughter thinks the metre long Toblerones cast in resin would make awesome legs to convert this into a table 🙂👍🏻
That would make a great tabletop!!!!!
4 legs with candy not represented on the table, gummy bears, licorice, etc. Beautiful project so far!!!
One idea is to make a straight stick that resembles a lollipop stick, another option would be a candy cane, and a third option would be likely more complicated but something that resembles licorice.
Oh man, curly wurlys are the best. I am sad to see one wasted though.
Love it. Makes me think of Halloween. Make skeleton legs for the table. Of course you would have to reinforce them somehow ❤❤❤
Thanks Connie 😊
Pretzel stick legs. Because salty pretzels and chocolate are awesome together.
*Edit: I mean wooden but looks like thick pretzel sticks. And you must somehow have bits of "salt" stuck to them. They could glow... that might be a bit much but hey - that's what off switches are for!
That really came out great. I though the chocolate would melt, I'm glad it didn't.
Now I want some chocolate.
If you wanted to do a curved pattern with the legs, you could use licorice in them. Maybe a base of wood for structure, and a channel of epoxy in the wood with the licorice for color.
I would make it a candy bowl/dish lazy susan that sits and rotates so you can get a handful of each treat as it passes by you. Looks amazing as always Ben!
That's so cool! One idea for the legs would be peppermint sticks, maybe?
I wish on top some were left in wrappers so we always know what was put in but this is still awesome. Thanks!
I can see using candy cane shaped lets with the curved handle supporting the table. Then as someone else mentioned filling each leg with different colored/types of candy. I'd just mix them up for a bit of uniformity.
Or separate the holidays, just face the appropriate holiday leg out for viewing 🥰
I think you should use all of the colorful candy wrappers somehow in the legs! It would give it the same candy table feel to match but in a different way!
Hey Ben
Wow this turned out incredible 🙂
Take care😊
Wow! That turned out so awesome! I think four different colors of giant peppermint sticks (striped candy sticks) would look cool as legs
Really neat, Ben. I think a brown base, texture the legs to look like a chocolate bar, and sprinkles on the aprons.
Bill
Do something with all the wrappers! Perhaps like stacked candy or something. Love your work
Very sweet. How about large chocolate kiss pedestal for the underside?
When you started to lay out the chocolates in the table mold, my mouth started to water. 😂
Пока смотрела, сразу кушать захотелось 😅 Отличная работа, браво.
Ooh, I wonder how liquorice laces/swirls, sticks of rock, Matchmakers, fizzy laces would look in the legs! 🤤🍬🍫🍡
Wow, I was expecting colour bleeds from freckles, m&m’s and smarties. I was surprised at the bars. Looks delicious.
I feel like the table top you left to cure was different than the one you uncovered 2 weeks later. Could just be me. Seemed to be a lot of differences between the two. Most obvious being the location of the mint patty.
Doesn't change the fact that it looks amazing. Looks sweet! (pun intended) 😂
Having a table like that around my place would drive me crazy. I'd want to eat it... but I know I can't. Great job.
Cool, I love it. I think candy cane as legs would be cool, or even liquorice. Would also like to see one with the candy bars in their wrappers.
OMG! Love me some crunchies!
So does Nicole
I've seen long tubes filled with candy (I think about the length of a yard stick)
For the legs it might be cool to fill some of those up (or partway up) with clear resin and then either turn it on a lathe or just polish it.
Other ideas are crushed candy canes or nerds ropes suspended in resin
Twizzler legs could be cool :D You could get the original ones, the rainbow ones, brown ones, etc and just fill the legs with them :D
Pretzel as legs, now I,m heading for the candy jar❤️
That looks amazing! For the legs, I would use the wrappers.
keep with the chocolate theme and make the legs look like Tootsie Rolls. Love your work, cant wait to see how it finishes up.
Wow, that is a masterpiece. That would be wonderful in a candy store.
I think black walnut legs would look killer on that table top!!
You could use the wrappers for the legs! Maybe a collage?
That came out AWESOME Ben! I think for the legs you should do them in Resin with candy wrappers
I think you could make it even more vibrant if you use the chocolate bars and candy to make silicon molds and cast them out of resin as well
You need to find those huge peppermint sticks for the legs.
Maybe incorporate the wrappers into the leg’s somehow. Looks great!
Thankyou
