Spidey-Sense told me to go Trout Fishing! It Worked!

The trout were focused on feeding on pinfry for the past few weeks so I wasn’t sure if they would be feeding properly, but I had a feeling conditions were right again, so I headed out after work yesterday armed with my light lure rods and some trout wobblers, it ended up being a successful trip with some nice wild trout caught and released!

Love them myself Pauric, the lakeboat doesn’t need Livescope to catch them 🤝😂🐟 but it’s great fun using the technology also, a bit of both is a nice balance!

Hi ronan, unfortunately we don’t get them here on the Lough Derg due to the dam at ardnacrusha ruining the salmon run, haven’t got much time to travel up to Corrib to do it, would be fun for sure!

Thanks Paul, I got a few out over 7 meters but mainly the trout were in around 3-5 meters, usually from no on this is the depth around the whole lake, also they can be out deeper, I never fish really shallow for them.

Is it that there are no pike or how do you avoid catching them?

There’s always a chance, but I don’t fish the areas where the pike gather. I keep the lures high in the water and drive much faster. I can avoid pike doing this.
