  • “Ajhun na aaye shyam” song is based on Raag Bhoopali which is also known as Bhopali or Bhupali and is in Jhap Taal.
    In raag Bhoopali, F and B notes are not used. It consists of only 5 notes: C, D, E, G and A.
    So, the type of raag bhoopali is: Audava- Audava.

    All the notes are Shuddha. i.e. no sharp or flat notes are used.
    Vadi note is G, Samvadi note is D

    Jhap Taal has 10 beats in total. the beats are divided into 4 bars (Bibhag) with 2-3-2-3 beats. It has 3 talis at beats 1st, 3rd and 8th and 1 khali at beat 6th.
    This video is a practice session of master Yatsu Ratna Bjaracharya, who is 11 years old now. He is from Kathmandu, NEPAL. He started learning classical vocal during the lockdown due to COVID-19.
