Got the same bike and luggage system. Very happy with it!👍👍👍 it is important to protect the bags from the heat as you mention in your website. Instead of buying a cooler aftermarket exhaust, I wrapped the stock one with silicone mat used for cooking in the oven or hot pans, cheap and works great. Happy to share pictures if you want for further ideas for your products👍😉

Price: nothing for what you get, think about this; you fly with your sistem that you can dismount in pieces to whatever country you want and rent a bike there and you have 80L of storage on your bike and can tour for whateved distance you want; there is no competition for that on the market, wise up lol. It fits all the bikes on the market, what do you want more? In other words thank you for existing and good luck with further developments! :)

Yeah it is definitely a better option. You can always pack light if needed. But with the 40 you can’t make it magically bigger when you need to pack more or take home some mementoes. Got the Reckless 80, it's an awesome system. In colder months, I add a duffle at the back for my hammock quilt & under quilt, which aren't heavy so much as bulky, & consumes too much space in the Reckless bags. On the 790r, the duffle secures easily behind the reckless on the tail carrier.

This thing is awesome. Just installed it on my R Nine T for a long trip. Fits perfectly! If i had to nitpick about anything, i'd say the dry bags are a bit heavy, but the thing is overbuilt to withstand lots of abuse and it probably will outlive my bike 😂 Great product.
Really cool bike, Martin! Love the way the R80 fits it. We've designed non-waterproof/non-dustproof bags for the R80L that aren't quite as burly! Perfect for swapping out the heavier duty dry bags when you know you're not going to run into any inclement weather. We're doing some testing on the prototypes and we'll see where it goes! I am in the same situation. Love my Backcountry Panniers, but the thought of removing my rear racks and having the ability to go with different setups is quite appealing to me. Did you change up or still sticking with your panniers. I still need to run a small top case for my camera gear, but think with the removal of my pillion seat and the addition of the Altrider Luggage rack plates it would all work?
@@glenncharles6622 I stuck with the panniers for another season in 2022, but keeping a watching brief on the 80 set-up; sounds a good plan, the Altrider kit is exceptional.
Thanks for the reply. Yea, it is so interesting to contemplate the different configurations. One thing I have always disliked is during the time when I am just out riding, with no need for luggage, I hate the aesthetics of the racks. I realize this is probably dumb, but you have this beautiful bike and then those racks… The Reckless would do away with that problem and create just about as much space. With that said, I rely heavily on the beaver tails on both panniers and would definitely miss their functionality. Other than that, my kit would seamless transition to the Reckless setup. I have the Altrider plates coming in so once I get them and have a chance to install them, I may just make a change. Thanks for your feedback.
Damn..Why havnt i got this on my bike sooner! hehe..This looks damn brilliant, and been trying out so many other brands and types for soft luggage systems for my 7 months trip. This looks to be the best setup by far. So many options and easy excess to camera gear etc.

You will love it man! I did TET Italy with 80 V3.0 + nomax tank bag on 690 and it was an more then satisfied! From this video I saw what i did wrong with this system. I sold end of 2021 my 2009 690 and waitting new 890 ADVR and can not wait to try this system on this bike ;)

I noticed that you recommend a rear rack to have this set up sit on top of. I see the rear seat is quite unobstructed. My question: Can you run the reckless system when riding two up? I really like the features and versatility of this system just want to make sure it works with a passenger.
Hey! Most two-up worthy bikes can accommodate a passenger and Reckess 80L without any issues. To maximize seat space, you'll want to mount the R80 as far back on a rear luggage rack as possible. Hope this helps!

love the bags and the presentation -- only thing I would worry about would be a shifting bag on the exhaust side and burning the crap outta it. I assume one must check the tension repeatedly on these bags throughout the trip. Am I right???
Hey John! If you're riding really rough terrain - whoops, rocks, roots - for an extended period of time, you'll definitely want to check-in and tighten the legstraps on your Reckless system every so often. 🤘

The R80 v3 is the best of the best. Really! No doubt about it. I am so happy to own one. Very useful and modular. Looking to implement the system with the tool roll. Where will be the best place to put the tool roll in the R80?
I would imagine putting it low would be wise, perhaps on the exhaust side if your bike allows it. That keep puts the weight down low, and tools are likely to be heat- tolerant.
Looks amazing, but needs a bigger version as well for longer trips or bigger bikes. Check out traveling bags sizes, something like 120L would be perfect.
You can increase the capacity of the R80 by adding a larger center bag like our Scout 50L duffle. Not quite 120L, but it gets you a bit closer. Our Reckless systems are designed for lighter packing - keeping the bike light and tight to maximize riding experience. That being said, they provide a lot of versatility and options for packing light and not-so-light loads.
Mesh line ziper pockets I would not suggest to place electronics. For me it went wet and lucky there was only paper. But reckless revolver system is awesome! Have 80 and 10 ltr. Worth every € 👍🤓

What are the diameters of the dry bags please?
Hey Simon, thanks! The Revolver definitely fits the AT a lot better. We measure all of our dry bags by volume. You can find all of that info on the product page.
I have the V2 that I swap between an 1150GS and AT AS, no issues. Quality stuff, spendy but way cheaper than bike specific luggage for each motorcycle.

Is the hardware now stainless in the cam-buckles and screws? My last gen Reckless (2.1?) developed some surface rust after a few day rainy trip this fall.
All hardware is stainless with the exception of the t-nuts. :)
Now that is well designed! Is there an accessory (or hack) that would help roll the gear, when it’s all packed, to facilitate fly ‘n ride (or hotel) situations?

The aux pocket install video says to put the bottom leg holster straps through the webbing inside the aux pocket, but it looks like you have them on the outside compressing the pocket. Does it matter how they are run since it is held on by the t-nuts?
You can run them either way, but we recommend running the straps on the outside of the Aux Pox for heavier loads!

Is it possible to mount soft side bags with the hard top case? I am planning a setup for a trip and loving an idea of soft cases, but I also plan to take a laptop and camera with me. I feel it would be safer with one hard case on a bike.
Hey Juriy! Yep, you can run a hard top case with soft luggage. Lots of our customer's run that set up!
Great system! But I' m just wondering what are those leash on aux pox for?
The leashes can be used in a lot of ways! We designed them to help pull the dry bag down into the Aux Pox for a snug fit, to run through the caps of the MSR Fuel bottles we sell on our site, and it's always handy to have a spare leash around. :)

Question. I just bought this rig with the 2 aux pox for my 890Adv R. Question for Mosko or someone that I can’t seem to find info on. Do you have to attach the aux pox to the legs using the T Bolts making them essentially permanent or can they be attached with straps for greater flexibility and the ability to put ‘‘em on and take ‘em off. None of the videos seem to address this. Thanks!
Hey David! Our Aux Pox are designed to bolt on only - they're most sturdy that way. We offer other attachments like our Molle Pouches that come in sizes 2L or 4L. These pouches attach to the Molle webbing using Molle sticks, and are easier to add or remove.

I bought the reckless 80 set a few months ago and I like it alot, but i've got a question about security.
Were does the 6ft cable lock, you are offering, feed through and what is the best way to secure the bags?
I sometimes have to leave my bike unattended when I'm grocery shopping or going to a restaurant, museum, beach etc.
I know the bags aren't cut resistant but I don't want others to just grab my stuff and go.

Hey! Unfortunately, there's no official way to lock the entirety of the reckless system. You can secure the harness to your bike using a 6ft cable lock, but that does not secure the dry bags.

Great looking luggage system….the question I have has probably been asked but how do you protect the rear plastic fairings from scratches and rubbing (scuff marks)??
We recommend some clear vinyl tape applied to the bike's plastics. The Reckless harness will rub on the tape instead of the bike, like the stuff in the link below.

Great stuff, really thinking about getting this rig! I ride a Triumph Scrambler 1200, has anyone experience with this combination? I am a bit scared that the exhaust might burn through the bags, even with the heat shields 😅

Is it almost the same system noraly driving with from Itchy Boots on her Honda CRF 300 Rally ????
It's the exact system :) Noraly runs our Reckless 80L
in most of the video you have the 2 straps with the metal clips going around the outside of the aux pox, but when you put the dromedary bag in at 11:00, the straps are now going thru the inside of the aux pox. I tried putting the 4 liter molle storage pouch on the rackless 80 in the same position, the straps aren't long enough to go around the outside and still get 2 fuel bottles in. Solution?
Hey Kenneth! If you're running serious weight in the Aux Pox (water, tools, etc.), we recommend mounting the straps on the outside of the Aux Pox for more support. For lighter loads you can absolutely run them through the inside. Surprised to hear the straps on your R80 aren't long enough to accommodate the larger MOLLE storage pouch with fuel bottles. How strong are the Hypalon (sp?) molle cutouts? Is there a weight limit? They just don’t seem as strong as the underside molle attachments?
Hey Brad! All of our Molle panels are made with Hypalon, which is an incredibly strong material. On the cautious side we'll say the weight limit is 5lbs. Hope this helps!

Hey Ian, we recommend removing the passenger grab handles, and typically do not recommend mounting the Reckless 80 over pannier racks. These harsher points of contact can create wear spots on the underside of the harness. Especially when riding rough, technical terrain.
You never actually explain what the leashes on the bottom of the aux pox drybags are for. Is THAT what you leashed the two bottle together with?
Hey! The leashes on the Aux Pox dry bags are there to help pull the dry bag into the holster (helps a ton when the dry bag is packed to the max), and to leash two MSR fuel bottles together. The leash is helpful in a surprising number of ways.

Yep! The inside of the woodland dry bags are orange.
would this fit my f750gs? looking at dropping my hard luggage for a trip next year, as it will be more catered for off-road and want to drop some weight
Hey there! The R80 does fit the 750GS. We do recommend removing any rear passenger grab handles for proper fitment. 🤘
Is it a must to have a rack to attach the R80 at the back on the 701, or is it possible without?
The R80 benefits from having a rear luggage rack on the 701, but it's not completely necessary! Some of our crew has ran the R80 on their 501 during a week long trip without a a rear rack. Just took a little more adjusting during gas stops. :) Hope this helps!

Hey Bo, assuming you're talking about the rear luggage rack.. that would be a question for Perun Moto (who manufactures that rack). But all in all, we imagine it would be easier on the ground vs. on the back of a bike.
I will be buying my first adventure bike in feb next year it will be a ktm 890r , ive looked at hundreds of different storage set ups and im worn out , would the 40L option be great for 4 to 5 day trips , i wont be holding back and there will be plenty of mud and water crossing will this set up be the right choice for me , i want to get it right the first time, ive ridden bikes for 30 yesrs but this is my first adv bike... thanks for any feed back cheers
Happy to give our two cents and hope it helps! We'll start by saying it's a tough question for us to answer - it really depends on your packing style. Most of our crew chooses the R80 for trips longer than 2-3 days. BUT there's also quite a few of us that run the R40 with a larger center bag (like our Stinger 22L in place of the Stinger 8L) for week long (or longer) trips. There's not room for anything but the necessities when running the R40 on bigger moto-camping trips. The R80 is more versatile in that way. Hope this helps!
@@MoskoMoto no problems mate thanks for your input , if I pack lite which I will be , hammock, sleeping bag and a rain fly, gas burner, tucker , tubes and tools , couple sets of clothes couple 3 pce fishing rods and thats me , what you said about switching to to bigger stinger bag sounds like the road I will go down, it's central and I don't mind having that bit of extra weight behind me , hopefully I can get away with the 40 if I go down that road , thanks heaps for your input mate I appreciate it 👍🏼
I have had the Reckless 80L (V3.0) revolver now for a few days. I would like to see in the Video how the 25L dry bag is slid into the holster. I think when this is packed it's almost impossible.
Hey! Fully packed leg bags can be a snug fit, especially when brand new. Dirt and dust will help the dry bags slide into the R80 legs - it'll get easier the more you use them. We also recommend packing the drybags while they're in the leg holster. Hope this helps! Reach out if you have any additional questions. We're here to help!
The only thing missing here is air purge valves on the dry bags. That would make them so much easier to insert in those side holsters.
On our radar! Release valves do create a potential failure point in dry bags, which is why we've steered clear, but we are currently testing out other material for the Reckless system bag inserts. One tip is if you firstly loosely roll the bag and compress, this will burp the air out and then pull the excess up this will suck the remaining air out and then re-roll the bag. Hope this helps!

sorry to bother you guys. i would like to ask is the reckless 80L (v3.0) wide enough to go over the outback motortek side racks? It's on a 2014 honda crf250L. I have a fishing rod holder mounted to the side racks, really would like to keep the side racks on and use the reckless 80L or even the 40L actually if it's wide enough too. Hey Shane, we're happy to help! 🙂 We don't recommend mounting our Reckless systems over pannier racks (even if they might fit). Mounting the Reckless harness over pannier racks doesn't allow the harness to fit on the bike as designed. The rack also has the potential to cause wear points on the underside of the harness. Hope this makes sense!

Hey Rey! You can apply Heli tape or 3M tape to your bike in the places you're concerned about abrasion.

These look great! I have a Suzuki DR650 with a small rack above the rear fender. Has anyone with a similar setup tried these?
Hey Craig! You've got the perfect setup on your DR for the R80. Some of our crew rode that exact setup (DR650, small rear rack, and the Reckless 80L) during a week long trip through Ecuador earlier this year and had zero issues.
I just received my bag and am stocked with the build quality.
I have a 2021 KTM 790 Adventure and it seem the bag doesn't fit right with the passenger grab handles on...the bike is too wide. Do I need to remove the grab handles?
Has anyone out there experienced this?

Will they work with bikes that have existing Pannier racks already installed?
Hey Brian, we recommend removing pannier racks when using our Reckless systems. Pannier racks don't allow the harness to have close contact to the bike, and they add wear-posts to the underside of the R80. Hope this helps!
Can you replace the 22l with a larger bag?
You can replace it with our Scout 30L, but we don't recommend anything larger than that.🤘
Oops higher up this thread MM did recommend Scout 50 in a reply to someone wanting to get up to 120l as a way to get close to that, now say recommend no more than 30l.

Hey Motorpuls - The Reckless 80l has a cut out in the center portion of the harness for refueling the 690/701 platforms. The Reckless 40l doesn't have the same cutout because we think it would weaken the harness too much. Customers typically loosen the rear mounting straps and slide the harness forward so they can refuel.

Hey! We designed the R80 with backcountry use in mind. There are ways to secure the Reckless harness to your bike using locking cables, but we recommend bringing the entire system in with you if you're staying somewhere theft might be a concern.
Because you DEFINITELY don't want your tent poles to get wet! LOL!! JK, couldn't resist, LOVE Mosko Moto Gear, rock solid gear!! On another note, it looks like this will easily fit a 2023 FE501S Husky, is that correct?
No rusty tent poles! The R80 fits the 501 well, but it would benefit from having a rear luggage rack, but not entirely necessary. We've run the R80 on the 501 for a week long trip through the desert (lots of whoops) without a rack, and it did require minor adjustments 1-2x per day. It didn't bother us, but the R80 would attach more securely to a rear luggage rack. Hope this helps!

If the aux pox are 4 liters, why doesn't it take the 4l Dromlight hydration bladder, rather than the 2l?
A 4l dromlite doesn't fit into a 4l aux pocket because of how volume is calculated for luggage. Beans or ping pong balls are typically used to measure volume, so the Aux pocket can carry 4l of contents. The 4l dromlite has 4l of water plus the bladder and spout so the dromlite takes more than 4l of volume after you factor everything in.

It's funny at about 9:59 you say, you might be wondering what the leashes are for in the aux pic but then you don't say what they are for.
They are used to tether the fuel bottles together, which is shown right after the 9:59 mark. 👍 Also used to help pull the dry bag into the holster nice and snug!
Is it possible to simply remove the entire kit and throw it over your shoulder?
Yep! Just undo a total of 4 straps to remove and toss it over your shoulder.
needs a better security system
When designing our Reckless system security was pretty low on the priority list. We utilize this rig primarily in the backcountry. If you happen to be staying in a populated area, the Reckless is very easy to remove from the bike and bring into a hotel/motel/cabin, etc.

So what is the leash at the bottom of the aux box dry bag for? You say we might wonder what it is for and then you put it aside and starts talking about something different... Don't leave us hanging like that.
Hey! If you keep watching, Jack shows that you can use the leash to run through the caps of the MSR fuel bottles, tethering them together and securing them so they do not fall out if you choose to run the Aux Pox without the dry bag insert. The leash also works well to tug a fully packed dry bag insert into the Aux Pox holster. Hope this helps answer your question!

A lot of us here at Mosko run the R80 on our lighter bikes (350's-500's) for longer lightweight trips. The R40 is a great option too. 🙃

A rackless system that needs a rack... I thought I'd justify the price by not needing to buy a luggage rack.
The Reckless 80 does not need a rack. As Jack mentions in the video, we recommend a rear luggage rack for increased stability, but it is not required. Quite a few of us here on the Mosko team run the R80 on our 350's, 450's, 501's and larger bikes without a rear luggage rack. Hope this helps!
weight and price!!! Enduristan 60%lighter and 50% cheaper and more practical. Dont get me wrong MM 80L for sure is excellent quality but over engineered

All that being said, we hope you're out there riding/adventuring - no matter what gear you use. :)
No offense meant. But all these dry bags are a nightmare for accessing your stuff. I understand that it could rain. But someone has to design stuff for those types of riders who never (or rarely) get caught in the rain; wherein a simple dust cover over the bag should suffice.
Also many of us Adv riders would never go near a camp site. If there are no hotels with running water, we aren’t going. Period. So for us, this method of packing wherein stuffing crap down a tube thru a small hole sounds moronic. There have to be options where you can simply unzip a bag to get a large opening and shallow depth to easily pack / unpack, or just live off of the bag (leaving it half open) instead of unpacking completely.
Hey there, no offense taken. Sounds like our Reckless system just isn't the right luggage setup for you. You can always run one of our top loading duffles or a set of panniers.
