I usually used Mesas. I decided I wanted to try something different. Sold my Mesa Boogie and ordered the Ceriatone OTS Lunchbox head w/o a cabinet. 22 watts. The email I got back said ten week for delivery. So I figured I had plenty of time to build a nice cab. A week later my wife calls me at work and say thereâs a huge heavy box on the front porch, please bring it in when you get home. I asked her what is it? She tells me itâs from Malaysia. My amp! In a week. âCancel my afternoon patientsâ Iâm going home. My staff blocked the door and pointed to the clinic. So I get home after work and unboxed it. Playing an amp without a cabinet is deadly. For real. I spent the weekend building the cab and have been in love with this amp ever since.
Interestingly, Dumbles can get kinda close to a MKii. I'm sure with a few tweaks you'd feel right at home with a Overtone Special
now that's been a year what do you think? I'm very interested in getting one.
This is hands down, one of the best amp demos Iâve ever seen on CZcams. You didnât use a ton of reverb, compression, and other effects to cover up things. Just your hands and the amp. Fantastic!đ

For years i tried to nail David Lindleys lap steel tone. Then i got a Ceriatone OTS Mini 20, their 20 watt version of a Dumble. got that sound i've been searching for and been in love with this amp ever since. IMHO Ceriatone makes the best D style amp for the money.

My dad owns a Ceriatone Molecular and it's an absolute monster. Ceriatone does not disappoint.
I have a Ceriatone SSS 50watt amp, and that amp is so good, headroom for days, and a beautiful breathiness as well. Cant go past a Ceriatone, and they are built like a tank
Yup. Thatâs pretty much a Dumble. The Pre-amp boost gave it really nice tone...reminded me of SRVâs Dumble tones.

I just acquired one of these Overtone Special Ceritones off FB Market today... I played a Overdrive Special by Dumble a couple of weeks ago... This Ceritone doesnât disappoint... Itâs spot on.... I was using a Shin Music Dumbloid for my OD until today... Itâs a great amp and wasnât hard to dial in what Iâve been looking for... The C Lator was the tricky part, but Iâm dialed in now!!!

Buddy Blues I have to say that itâs channels like this that just play whatever that make me want to play guitar again. I was having such a hard time wanting to play and feeling uninspired. But watching what you play and your reviews, it makes me want to go back in and be a better player. So thank you very much for that!

Awesome! Great amp! I wonder if you still have this amp coz i don't see it in your channel for a while.
The C-Lator is the absolute easiest thing ever to use. Plug the "send" from the amp into the "in" on the clator and the "return" on the amp into the "out" on the clator. Now the send and return on the clator is your effects loop. Set the "drive" on the clator to noon, set the "in" control full up and the "out" to taste (the out will now serve as your master volume). Set the bright switches to taste. There you go, you wont blow anything up. I adds some harmonics and you can use the drive to add more gain to your signal if you want (both clean and overdrive channels). It will darken the tone a little, some like it some not so much. But it's worth a try. You can use it a bit like an attenuator like this too because of the second master volume. Let me know if it works!

Best part about all of this is that this is a $300 strat.

It's nice to ear Dumble clone demo with playing more raw/energic/intense. So much dumble clone demo are done with fusion/soft attack/too kindly playing.

I have the exact same amp as you except it's the 100/50 watt version , not that I have ever had it on 100 watts , I run a Boomerang chorus /delay pedal through the send return of the buffer that's the only pedal I need for a few songs other than that the amp has every sound in it that you would ever need , if you want to run pedals through the buffer run 2x 6.5mm cables from the send and return of the amp down to the send and return of the buffer and then plug in your pedals into the other 2 send and return jacks of the buffer it works great , these amps are built like a tank and sound fantastic , thanks to Nick

I have the lunchbox version of the Ceriatone OTS. 22 watts. No raged high end like a Marshall. No ice pick distortion like an overdriven Fender. Just sweet tubey goodness.

Thx for answer on OD trim. Recommendation for where it should be set? I prefer just a bit of break-up. All these pots seem interactive. By the way, built my own, including the cab.

I've had a dozen or more amps over the years. Last year i settled on the most consistent amp sound I've ever had. Fender De Ville Michael Landau. With a compressor and Benson Fuzz, sonic heaven.

It really does! It all depends on what you get each one is built to order but they are not NEARLY as expensive as other amps or boutique amps. Great quality under $2,000 (again, depending what you ask for)

Great sounding amps as are Dumbles, tho I've found with a 10 band eq in the loop of my jca50 I can dial in almost identical tones on the crunch channel. With the gain way down to 3 the od channel can get very close but slightly smoother and a bit more compressed, and more aggressive.

You can not convince me it isn't ceri-a-tonay
You should give a try at a Fryette PS-100, it can give's you more voicing to any of your amps, it can boost a fender junior up to 100w or can take any 100w and make them 5w. But more importantly, it give's you more voicing with 2 3way switches. One is edge-brite-flat the second deep-warm-flat and they are both interactive with one-an-other plus it give's you a loop to any amp that doesn't already have one. You just get more controle and more sounds to any of your amps. I am fyberglasted by mine, i youse it mainly with my Electro-Harmonix Mig-50, witch by itself already sound great, but put the 2 together and HOMAMA ! With a ventage celestions 2x12 cab from Harley Benton my total combo goes for under 2.5k. I first bought the fryette as a attenuator but now you could also sell me one simply for the voicing and the easiness of sound tweaking that it's adding. Plus the fact that it is an upgrade to any of my future amps.
I was fortunate enough to play through a dumbo OD special in the mid-90s that a friend had. That amplifier had built-in magic for days! From what I'm hearing this Cerotone absolutely Nails it man! I understand there's a frightful waiting list but Monday morning I'm getting on that list! Do you know if you have to pay up front for the amplifier or do you pay for it when you take delivery

Youâre right on about Nik. Fantastic guy, and very helpful. I have this amp, but built it myself from parts. Built the cabinet as well. Fashioned it after Robbenâs model.
@frankfaga thanks! Thatâs what they call the OD trim. Overdrive trim. It confused the heck out of me for the longest time, but the easiest way for me to understand this was this: think of it as the Maximum gain the overdrive channel will reach. Think of it as both an overall volume and gain knob for the overdrive channel. Like a ceiling.
Hi Buddy, A couple of years ago I had heard of the Ceriatone HRM amp and Niks JTM45 Bluesbreaker amp. I had read such good reviews on the net and CZcams and the fact that they were point to point wired which sounded unbelievable for the price, but I was apprehensive about buying it. Everything that I have played in particular was my Vox AC30 Brian May Special Edition amp from 2005. I recently had the amp rebuilt by Michael Klein in Kansas city, Missouri. He's the guy that invented the Klein- u- lator for Ceriatone. The Vox was originally built in China. What a piece of shite at $3000.00 USD RETAIL price. Well Michael turned this amp into the David Petersen amp that was originally built for Mr. May. So I pretty much hate everything made in China. So I was a bit apprehensive about Ceriatone being in Malaysia. But boy was I in for a surprise. Nik Asam was incredibly great. Sent me the the two amps and I have never been more pleased. They rival anything made in the USA. And the price is incredible for what you are getting. State of the Art amplifiers. I was blown away to say the least. I have a Mesa Mesa Tremoverb from 1995 and it sucks bigtime compared to the Ceriatone amps. My hat is off completely to Nik Adan and Michael Klein.

Yep both are great amps. The Honey Bee is more SRV, the Ceriatone is more versatile. SRV, Ford, Sayce, Hendrix. Canât go wrong with either. They are the best right now.

Hey! This is the standard 50w model. The front panel thingy is an external buffered tube powered effects loop!

@@BuddyBlues Won't be sorry. I put a single Gold Lion 12AX7 in the V1 of my amp, and the sound was so stunning I replaced my two El34's with them. I've had my amp for 45 years, and it's never sounded as good.
I think I'll have to taken one for myself although I dont know if it was your playing or the actual amp.

Every vid your tone is just that lush breakup and Idk how to explain it I guess what I would say is certain amps you can just hear the Pre amp and the power tubes section just really workin. Very few amps have that harmonic ability while keeping the low end going and have sexy sustain lol were you can just hear everything singing like that.
@@keithremedy I agree! This one does all of it so beautifully. A company in Florida called Amelia Island Guitars had one brand new in stock! They are an official Ceriatone dealer. But, alas, don't hold your breath. It took my wife about 7 months to have one pop up on reverb. Furthermore, I put in an order for another amp they make in August and I haven't received it yet. But I know it is worth it.

The master volume allows you to crank the preamp at bedroom levels! So yes
I'm also wondering which ODS circuit he's cloning. I've been gathering schematics and there are very different component values and slight circuit tweeks between them. #102 which is supposed to be Robben Ford's dumble is quite different from say 183 or a couple others I've located. And just go pre amp out to d later in d later out to power amp in then your pedals go in the d laters loop.It won't blow up if you do it wrong but it won't work(properly at least).
