Actually, no, Marvel ASKED Samuel L. Jackson beforehand if they could make Ultimate Nick Fury look like him, and he gave them permission, thinking it was just the coolest thing. It was because the ORIGINAL Fury was based on Frank Sinatra, who was the biggest badass of his era, so when they were creating ULTIMATE N.F., they went, "Okay, well, who's the ultimate badass TODAY?" "Well, Samuel L. Jackson, duh."

I'm not trying to start a debate here, but I see in most of the comments that people keep arguing over DC and marvel, I personally like both, but I'm going to be honest here, I love marvel just barely a bit over DC, simply because of certain characters, not because I feel they are superior. DC has amazing comics too, green arrow, batman, superman, and justice league. Who cares about who is better, can't we agree that they are both two companies doing the same thing, selling great stories about people who make a difference. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but I get mad when people argue over something that really doesn't matter, in the end it is always just opinions, there is no real superiority between marvel and dc, just what one believes. Like I said I love marvel a bit more, but I won't deny the that DC has amazing characters also, superman, although he is considered the most op character out there, he is still awesome whether he is op or not, and batman, maybe one of the most badass heroes out there, plus my favorite villain, the joker. I need to state this because people will just say I'm just a marvel fanboy, but that is not the case.

Fact number 11: more than 50% of marvel heroes were based on DC heroes.
And what's that got to do with anything, Marvel comics got off to a late start in comparison to DC, and you not possibly imagine how hard it is to avoid copying an idea
Fun Fact: I dare you to name 50% of characters Marvel ripped off. Marvel has some of the most original and unique characters ever made. I can name a few DC ripped off too.

2. Deadpool was a comedic parody,the creator believed him to be an original idea(showing that they don't pay much attention to the other universe), and after a partner told him the similarities he just rolled with it.
3. A lot of the people you listed are similar aesthetically, meaning they look the same and not even power wise(may share one or two powers, but not enough to make them intentional rip-offs)
4. Jarvis is a ROBOT, he was only built to simulate a British butler, they actually seem similar Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it's just that British Butler thing
5. A lot of your "Rip-Offs" only share personality or goals(ie. Joker and Goblin share a personality and the line draws there)
6. To conclude many of these were subconcious plagarism, where marvel created an idea that paralleled a DC idea, not an intentional rip-off as you've so eloquently labelled it
I see there have been different versions to Clayface each under a different alias with different release dates according to who they were
Another fun fact: the X-Men was a rip off or inspired by Doom Patrol, which was released before X-Men by DC Comics.

I'm really sick of the fanboys here so Im going to say the good and the bad of both.
Marvel
Good: Relatable Characters, Better movies, Takes risks, the MCU
Bad: Not as powerful as DC characters (except Hulk), not alot of videogames, not as many good villains, THE FANBOYS
DC
Good: More iconic characters, better videogames (only Batman: Arkham through the rest are meh lol), owns the movie rights to all it's characters, started the superhero genre, BvS lools so GOOD!!!
Bad: Worst superhero game of all time (superman 64, besides Batman: Arkham, their games are meh at best), rarely takes risk, has been kissing Batman's ass for the last 10 years, unrelatable heroes, only making the Justice League movie because BOTH Avengers made 1 billion, the TV and movie universe being separate, THE FANBOYS (also Batman's creator Bob Kane was kind of a jerk)

Another interesting fact: In one Spider-Man comic we discover that Peter Parker is not the true Spider-Man and is actually a copy of the original Ben Reiley. However, following the hate that this storyline received it was revealed that this was actually a scheme by Green Goblin. Despite this twist ending it remains possibly the most hated comic book storyline of all time.
