The Walten Files 4 - CyberFun Tech

- Tape 4:
Here we are again, Mystery Solvers! COVID cooled down! and after 3 years, we finally got my aunt's VCR to work. I have so much to say but I'm gonna start off with the technical stuff first:
Back when I found the BunnyFarm tapes I was met with a dead-end. Bunny Smiles Incorporated/Bon's Burgers gave no more results, locals had no more info. I went back to Connecticut to live with my dad. That was until my friend David approached me with an amazing find. David decided to ask locals about the terms "Walten" instead. (Apparently that's a name that pops up a lot in the tapes, haven't watched the tapes myself LOL). We were directed to a vintage strip mall that had this one bowling alley "Starley's". Originally there was a workshop in that building instead and when they moved everything out and Starley's bought the space, one locker remained, labeled "Walten". Inside a box with a cheap safe, apparently the box has sat there for DECADES because they haven't managed/bothered to open it. Me, Ron and David did some digging through the previous tapes and noticed a pattern, the code was "722", curious.
INSIDE! there were a total of 23 TAPES, I moved back to Brighton, Michigan to help my friends fix, clean and compile these tapes into what we call THE CYBERFUN TECH COLLECTION! This is part 1 of 3!
CyberFun Tech is a company that funded and created most BSI projects, it's unclear whether CT owned BSI or whether they were simply partner companies, but perhaps CT bought BSI at some point, either way, all the tapes were labeled "CyberFun Tech" and supposedly these were supposed to be handed over to technicians and artists. I should note, some bits of this compilation are weird, on some screens it would appear as minutes and minutes of empty static, and on other screens it would appear to be a white screen with faint voices heard on them.
As for me, I'm doing great! the past 3 years were filled with some of my happiest and saddest moments, but I'm still standing! I'm going out on vacations with my girlfriend for a few weeks, I'll post parts 2 and 3 when I return at the end of the month!

I’ve called the school- (couldn’t hear)… just tell me where… if this is a prank you’re tryna pull I don’t find it funny please… don’t make me drive over there Felix.” Most of it was hard to hear but it’s so sad to see him grow more and more worried as he realizes that somethings not right

@@katylepetsos7512 oh, my bad. I meant the truth on what really happened, not what they were told. But my bad
I'd always assumed Felix was at home listening to Jack's voicemails and ignoring him pounding on the windows. Nope, he was never home. He was out in the boonies digging his own grave and having multiple breakdowns. While I still don't care for him, I can sympathize a bit more than before. Addiction has an iron grip and it usually drags people down into the grave with it.

the fact that even after they died Edd and Molly are still good kids who want to protect Susan is so touching. even when they’re dead, the writing makes all these characters seem so alive

@@Dragoncraft9 I though they where literally haunting Felix the better question how did rocket get into bon burgers did Felix just brought it there
Okay this is the part of why I'm truly excited whenever a new Walten Files chapter is being announced and why I love The Walten Files itself
While it doesn't scare me that much, the story and how the characters are written is what makes it up to me
And like you said, the way they handled Edd and Molly even when they died is a very great thing and different than most FNAF VHS horrors. Instead of making them feel vengeful and wanted to kill the ones who killed them they acted like how kids would react when someone's in danger. Empathizing, worried, and wanting to help

It's cathartic seeing some of these characters, only portrayed before as mangled, distorted, dead faces accompanied by loud noises be brought to life. It's so weird seeing them walk, talk, have a laugh. I cannot describe it.
I enjoy it a lot its comforting weirdly
It reminds me of how a character in one of my projects was supposed to die in a certain story beat, but I was never fully satisfied with how it played out, and felt I could do better. I eventually did find a better character to die there for different reasons, and I swear to god the first time the original doomed guy talked in the scene immediately following everything, I did a double-take at my screen. It was like 'oh yeah, you're still alive this time', and I was the one writing the bloody thing

Can’t get over the image of Bon going “Omg slay queen 🫶🫶🫶💅💅💅💅✨✨✨”
FUCK.
It’s so unhinged but it’s an amazing detail
I think seeing Bon's spirit is shocking because not only does it look like he's probably not Jack, he's so...cognitive. Like we all thought Bon was an animalistic monster but in truth he is sapient, intelligent and even soft-spoken. He does not even kill out of aggression, he views it as a means to an end to make his victims 'beutiful'.
It seems like he's an aggressive animal but in truth he's a cold serial killer.
I will admit at first I thought he was just programmed by Felix to kill anybody who found out about what he did to Ed and Molly because Felix couldn’t handle the guilt and bad reputation but after this, Bon’s spirit, whatever he or it is is certainly a cold-blooded killer
Bro doesn’t even end them, he keeps them in a suffering state like Susan will be suffering in Banny for a long time 😭😭
I have to disagree about it not looking like Jack. Look at where his suit ends, if you look closely, you realize that Jack had his coat buttoned in pictures while Felix had his open. Also look at his face shape. Jack’s face is more round like “Bon” while Felix is more square.
@@shmyanYT When I said it looks like he's not Jack, I meant more 'how the situation looks' not his actual physical looks.
It was not just about looks, its how he sounds and acts nothing like Jack.
@@erickamakeeaina1649 Again have to disagree. We don’t know how Jack’s mental health declined yet since Susan was killed a month after Edd and Molly. For all we know he could have killed himself after losing his mind, gaining this sick twisted personality as a way to cope with so much trauma.
I realized, during the wonderland segment w susan, near the end but before she accepts "bon"s offer you can veeeery faintly hear edd and molly in the background talking to eachother and/or trying to discourage susan from falling into "bon"s scheme.
Is this what they call a Bonzi scheme?
I DIDNT NOTICE AND READ IT RIGHT AS IT HAPPENED AND OMG THIS CHANGED ME
Charles and Susan considering telling Jack and Rosemary about Felix's drinking *later* hurts a bit. The latter didn't know, and if they did, most of this would have never happened.

What’s crazy is that I initially assumed Rosemary/Sha was Bon’s first victim, but that was because I was under the assumption that he was possessed by Jack and worked backwards from there. oh yeah that mysterious white bear in the bunnyfarm game. that made me rethink who is the real antagonist of this series, because it doesn't feel too connected to Jack Walten that "Bon" entity we saw here, more connected to the white bear of the well of memories. I don't think that entity is Jack Walten's spirit for now because there's a malignant vibe from the "Bon" entity and Jack Walten's disappearance maybe is related with the Bon entity. I love the idea that the soul possessing Bon is not someone we know, and is instead some type of demon or demented ghost. This makes him more menacing in my opinion because he isn't killing because of some tragic backstory, He's killing because he CAN.

Oddly enough, this made me feel a lot better about Edd and Molly's current state. I figured there would be more confusion and fear, with two souls being trapped in one body and not being able to make it move. But to see them support each other means that neither of them are ever alone, in which case they'd probanly be a lot more scared and confused.

I feel like Bon is a ghost without a past. Like, he's been existing for years without a vessel and must have forgotten who he once was. But it doesn't matter to him, as he is now beautiful in his own eyes and is someone worth being. He wants to spread this self-imposed enlightenment onto others, with or without their consent. As he still is a serial killer who finds sick enjoyment from the terror of his victims.
Honestly, even if I'm wrong, it's a good watch either way.

I love the incorporation of the kids haunting Felix. Molly in the corner at 14:08, her ghostly voice behind the door, the face in the upper right window as Jack approaches the house, and of course them hovering at the window outside. I was watching this before bed and physically recoiled. Well worth the wait. 🖤
Having "We'll Meet Again" as the end credits song in anticipation of the next installment is just such a nice final little bow ontop of this masterpiece.
I really like the detail of Felix considering suicide twice after the accident, once by digging his own grave and then climbing out, then stepping back from the edge of the cliff. I wonder if it was twice to represent the children, or maybe even the children each forcing him to live to suffer for what he’s done. Just one of many excellent examples of visual storytelling in this episode. It was well worth the wait!
Me too! It adds some realness/humanity to him; he made a horrible decision and did something unforgivable, but he was never malicious, so now he lives with the crushing guilt
While I loved the idea of the children forcing him to not un-alive himself, i do have my doubs that it would be for something as cruel as revenge and punishment. Edd and Molly give the impression of caring and kind kids in both this video and Bunny farm
When Felix was about to jump of the cliff you can hear things that sound like the kids trying to tell Felix to not jump.

WOW. JUST WOW.I won't stop appreciating Martin's hard work. His animation is unique
The huge letter to Felix was hard to read, but for that spilt second, seeing “Susan Woodings has been struggling to breathe for days” was chilling.
Someone was able to “decode” the letter and it’s stating the wellbeing of the staff and where jack is
part of the letter says "there's a lot of reports of staff going missing"
i was able to edit a screenshot of it enough to read the whole thing and it was basically the owner of cyberfun tech saying that employees have reported susan missing for a week and no one at the company has been able to contact her. he asks felix to send him any information he has on her whereabouts and reminds him that staff going missing makes both companies look bad.
The part where Edd and Molly arose from behind the window was terrifying and I have no idea as to why.
Genuinely, that's one of my biggest fears.
Haha I'm 4:29 into the video. It's kinda late and it's dark and I'm alone so I'm just scrolling through the comments for spoilers.

and what's worse is she didn't die instantly, she was paralyzed after Bon snapped her neck, she lived for a little while after being out inside Banny, and it just sounds awful.
And after that Bon draws a pretty picture on her
22:57 The best single frame I've seen this year so far! Such a fantastic combination of your unique artstyle and the absolute horror of the car accident with the blood in the back telling us all we need to know regarding the state of the kids with no need to show the bodies themselves. I love this series and this choice of animation so much, good luck with whatever is next!

The 70s movie asethetic with Felix and the accident is so insane to me how incredible and perfect it is. It really brings me back to grind house films of that period with the music and the look, the entire scene just gives me a hole in my stomach it is done so perfectly. You are such an incredible artist!
“You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs” explains this entire series so perfectly.
Holy shit Bon was Senator Armstrong the whole time

Bruh the people are still ALIVE in the robots. They are forced to stay in a limbo like state. The electronics working like a lifesupport. And FUCKING BON LIKES IT.
I don’t think that’s quite what happened. He says a spirit cannot survive without a vessel, and that the animatronic will become her new body. I think the rule is that you need to die in or near a “vessel” in order to possess it. This happened with Ed and Molly, the doll was in her backpack and it ended up coated in (probably both of) their blood.
Somehow whoever Bon used to be found out about how this worked, and came up with a method. He breaks their neck, stomps their head in, and leaves their still living body to slowly bleed out inside the animatronic. On top of that, he appears in “wonderland” (limbo) as they’re dying and entraps them by offering them a false choice. This leaves nothing up to chance and ensures that the robot is possessed. He’s brute forcing it.

Jack's rage was so IMMACULATE. The desperation and anger of a father who feels he lost a significant part of his soul was captured beautifully. Martin knocked the ball out of the park in this video
And it sounded better than the one scene in Bunnyfarm (not saying that he did a bad job but I feel like he sounds more natural here)

This episode absolutely blew me away, the production quality has been incredible, the animations are such an improvement over the years! (I also LOVED seeing more of Bons personality!) This is by fare my favorite horror series, I Cannot wait for part 2!
“You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs!”
What an amazing quote dude holy crap.
Dude, we all thought Bon was going to be jack, but even I was wondering who could really be behind the mask after everything we've seen of him. He's too good of a man to do all these things. To find out that Bon is probably just straight up a demon is insane. Even if it's not that, it's probably someone we haven't seen before.
But my favourite thing about this all is Felix. Despite all the messed up and irresponsible things he does, you still understand him and even sympathize with him to a degree. It's such a depressing, but beautiful way to represent his character,
I always thought Felix was bon with it being much more interesting than jack since it be a screwed up way for him to fix his mistakes by getting all the family together again
The most surprising part of the whole episode was the reveal that Felix actually came clean about what happened to Ed and Molly (at least in part). I genuinely expected him to try and cover the whole thing up, but he didn’t, and that instantly made him a way more fascinating character.
imo bon cant be a demon casue bon in conversation with susan in wonderland says that 'the spirit does not pass on as fast as the body. I WOULD KNOW'. its basically gives a hint that he was alive and had a body. he remembers his past live but refers to himself as 'BON'
I'm still thinking that Jack is Bon. Maybe his spirit changed and was twisted. He fully embraced his new identity as Bon, shown by the voice. He wants to ruin the company to hurt Felix out of rage for his children's deaths.
@@sheenie8897Yeah that's fair. Regardless, it's probably someone we haven't seen yet.

Felix is the Latin word for luck. Felix has gotten through his whole life with luck and no real effort in bettering himself as a person. When he crashed, his luck finally changed. Kranken also means sick or suffer in German. Sick Luck
Bravo Martin
Bravo Martin
Linda in portuguese means beatiful 👀
Walten is also a German term for "good" or "blessed", as I found an old hymn written by Mozart (I believe), when I was trying to find the series on Wikipedia. The hymn was called, when translated into English, "Whoever loves dear God is blessed".
Also bravo Martin!
Here is what we can assume about Jack's perspective.
1. His children were murdered due to negligence that was avoidable. After Felix, Jack alternatively tries for hours to reach Linda, who at that point (according to the law) would be an accessory in the context of an active investigation. If you think about it, it's probably why she's gone, and I feel as if her note was merely an attempted alibi instructed by Felix so she wouldn't need to be apart of the investigation. All it would take is Felix telling her what happened one time, and she's just as incriminated if she says nothing. But regardless of Linda, her decision only helps to secure Felix's secret as safe. So her part in this can't be disputed, even if she didn't do anything. Doing nothing was the problem, actually, which continues to be a reoccurring problem.
2. He was able to discover that Susan and Charles (Primarily Susan) both knew Felix had been drinking excessively that week, likely through the surveillance recordings we heard taken by the animatronics. Although Charles suggests they do the right thing and tell Jack, Susan continues to insist it might be best to stay out of it, both before and after the crash, and Charles agrees. Considering Jack's noted anger issues, it's understandable he could irrationally perceive this decision as if Susan might as well have killed them herself. Jack strikes me as a fellow that is very black-and-white in that way.
3. He goes after Felix first, but I wonder if with context, Jack knew Felix would've killed himself or someone else indiscriminately. That's just alcoholism, your brain is not in control when you drink. But imagine the next thing Jack learned is that Susan and Charles spoke about it, before it even happened, and did nothing. Susan, while with good intentions, made a clear-minded and conscious decision that ultimately cemented the root cause of Edd and Molly's deaths in the crash. It wasn't a malicious decision, but by definition, it was absolutely very cowardly. This makes me think he might not blame Felix as much as he blames Susan and Charles.
4. If all of the above things are true, it means every single friend in his life lied to his face.
So at the end of the day it leaves the question: How would you feel?
We know two spirits can possess one container with Edd and Molly. I'm beginning to wonder about the theory Bon made a deal with Jack and it was a monkey's paw, and Bon is the result.
Come to think about it.... IDK why I thought suddenly that "Bon" was a more... spiritual version of Jack's anger and depression over his children's death. And if we take into account about him finding out Abt Susan insisting she never tells either Waltens of Felix (which if you think about it, is the reason why the kids are dead. ._.;) he would lash out at her first due to that. Not only that but I think he'd be likely angriest at her between her and Charles.
Coming after his wife feels random and like doesn't make sense, but maybe we can assume it went from "Get rid of those who didn't say jack shit and lied to me" to "Fuck everyone who works for my company", which can also maybe explain why he targeted the other employees? Including Sophie and Rosemary.
And assuming "Bon Bon" (for separation sake) would be Jack's anger and stuff, it'd probably makes sense why he called Rosemary "Rosie" in episode one due to how intimate the nickname is, he lured her there to "show her where her husband is", cause he is her husband, but like, not really. (And as a brief mention, seeing Susan's death is traumatizing enough but seeing Rose's will likely make me paranoid. /lh /nm)
I'm pretty sure nothing I say would make any sort of sense but I'm not the most hardcore type of fan unfortunately, I just like to make random theories sobsob. Good analysis though.
Another dumb realization that may or may not be a joke idea.
If we're going with the whole "Bon Bon is angry part of Jack and was super pissed at Susan for keeping Felix's issues a secret", this explains why Bon and Bannie don't get along.
That was spectacular. Honestly i did not expect this episode to be so artistic. Truly is a gem this series is still going. Wonderful :)
