How good are the Combos from the Super Mario Bros Movie?

- In this video, we look at the combos from the Super Mario Bros Movie, and recreate them in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. We test to see if they are good or if the combos that they created were a bunch of bad combos.

Edit: I’m actually 100% certain all the karts that were in the Mario movie when building the karts were all from MK Wii

Toad uses Tiny Titan
Peach used Mach Bike
I believe it's more inspired than anything and not direct copy, some smaller details feels off to be a precise copy

fun fact; getting inked by the blooper will reduce your traction to the same amount, regardless of your traction stat. wether you use the combo with the highest or lowest traction, you will get the same results
even funnier fact: on slippery ground, Yoshi on the Teddy will actually get a traction boost if he gets bloopered
The kart combos in The Super Mario Bros Movie do resemble their Mario Kart Wii counterparts to an extent.

@@romanaround01 My best advice for inside drift in MK8D would be to start your drift later into the turn and drift closer to the wall than everyone else. You're able to take sharper turns with inside drift. If you don't wanna get slaughtered online using inside drift, I would suggest practicing in time trials, free play, or single player GPs. It takes practice to get used to, but its fun once you get used to it.
I love inside drift, unless it's a slippery track like cheese land
I may be wrong but I think they nerfed inside drift in 8 in a bunch of small ways
Wii inside drift was outstanding, 8 inside inside drifting isn’t as much of a necessity, just a preference

It technically is. It's the Tiny Titan in Mario Kart Wii. You probably know this already, but these karts in the movie are more based on Mario Kart Wii despite being made in the Mario Kart 7 or 8 customization systems. If that's what you meant with wanting them in MK7 or 8, then yeah. I also wish it was real. Even though it was real in the past.

I’ve got the opposite problem of not knowing how to play outside drift 😭 I love inside drift though
@@ditto.jelly.0v0 I find outside drift VERY hard to get used to after I've been playing the inside drift style for a while. It literally takes me an hour of playing before I acclimate to the 'standard' method, but I can swap to inside drift and within minutes I've got my turns down pat. I don't know why, Inside drift is just extremely intuitive for me. I really wish more motorcycles had like a toggle for inside vs outside drifting cause there's some awesome looking bikes I'd love to use that I don't due to the shift in drifting style.

The Koopa Troopa saga was great, I loved the attention to detail with the progression from bike to pipe frame to Mario's pipe frame. Also "no items!"

Loved the silouette video and loved this one. Possible video idea is going through some of the promotional videos and trailersfor the game for unique combos (mostly so we don't get Mario standard kart again) and try some of those out.

Inside drifting bikes work best starting in the middle of the road in my experience it gives plenty of time to adjust and control

@@romanaround01 I especially wanted to see Mario’s standard kart that was seen in the movie in the booster course pass because I like the standard karts from every game but,one thing I hate about the standard kart from Mario kart 8 is the headlights that appear on it whenever you’re in a dark track because they make it look as if it was old with those headlights.
Really though, we got maps and characters but no additional customization
@@dokutah7374 yeah,it was just a bunch of tracks that were from either previous Mario kart titles or tour exclusives as well as characters but sadly,we didn’t get new kart parts for it. Nintendo should’ve done it especially to promote the Mario movie as well with adding those kart parts to Mario kart 8 deluxe

The kart Mario picks is actually the pipe frame. Look at the kart's engine, the movie design and Mario Kart 8's design match up pretty good, everything else is different apart from this area but still quite close in similarity.
Toad's is actually the Tiny Titan from the Wii. DK's... I'm not sure *WHAT* the *HECK* that is

a little suggestion is to keep a shroom if you're able to smuggle it to first place, since you could use it both as a defence against a blue shell and as a quick recovery in case you get hit

10:35 btw, traction doesnt do anything with the blooper, it really only affects things when youre on a slippery road, like any of the ice tracks, rainy tracks, cheese land etc

Inside drift does feel weird at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s not all that bad. Just takes practice. I use the Sport bike a lot tho with Daisy instead of Peach since she’s the better princess 😉🤣

I think Mario Kart 9 needs to have “Movie Mode,” where all of the characters' voices are replaced by their celebrities' voices, exclusive characters like the Penguin King and Koopa General would be added, along with new unlockable karts, and the environment would get a slightly realistic look to match the film's animation.
In all honesty, any kart can be good. It all just depends on the technique and skill of the driver.
So when you blame Donkey kong for bonking on a staircase. Just know, you were the one who drove him to it.

I feel like for inside drifting, you gotta take a wider line and then steer hard into the turn
