Eczema is very misunderstood, especially back in our childhoold. It has nothing to do with dirt. It's more like an allergy that comes and goes. I have eczema as well and my mom also told me I come from a long line of people who struggle with skin fungi and I battled it too. I used to be ashamed as a teen and had no idea what to do - I didn't even discuss it with my mom until much later but something like eczema is out of your control and can only be managed. It's only after reading more and understanding it that I was able to manage it and keep it from flaring up and also stop feeling bad. Knowledge is power. Don't worry mama! You'll be okay! Just educate your child, and do your best on your part. That's all.
Hi Mercy. I don’t have ezema, I don’t think anybody in my family or my husbands family has ezema. However my daughter was born with ezema. She had a very bad reaction few weeks after she was born and I didn’t know what to do. We live in Europe, the Dr did say it is a also a sign of allergies. We did and allergy test and it turns out she was allergic to milk and peanuts. I had to stop all milk products while breastfeeding and yes her skin did get better as she grew older. Much better in the summer and when we traveled to Cameroon and worst in the winter. We had to avoid all perfume lotions and soap. Her bath water had to have neutral oils so that the skin is not too dry. We used cream instead of lotion. She’s 3 now and her skin is thriving. Hope this helps if you in future. The situation can be managed if we know exactly what to do.
Wow... I can't help but say wow mother...this is like a pain relief to me.. Exactly what you said at the end, if we know exactly what to do, this can be managed 👌. I have work to do personally, change my body oils cuz I use lotion 🤦♀️, stop consuming milk cuz personally, I love milk & most dairy products. Thank you soooooo much for this honestly 🙏..I will go to the supermarket in the morning & get me some butter creams😃👍
You are welcome mama. I’ll just advise you keep all the toiletries you intend to use on your little one neutral from the beginning. No perfumes, no parabens, hypoallergenic.Mustela is a good brand. I have bought it in Cameroon before. Talk to a paediatrician if you have any concerns. It shall be well.
No, you aren't bad because of a skin condition. It is not your fault. We pray not that babe gets this condition but if it occurs, I am sure with treatment baby will be okay. Don't worry, sis. 🙏🏾
Dont blame your self ,life happens ,you should consider removing all dairy products from your diet , avoid commercial body lotions, consider using body butters made with organic ingredients (e.g mango ,cocoa and shea butter)as lotion to soothe your skin ,also add detol to your bath water too
