I think had ezri been on the show longer, she would have had more time to develop but nicole did a good job.
Currently working with her. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. Super nice and friendly, very easy to work with. One of the best actors Ive been fortunate enough to work aside.
ezri was a fantastic addition to DS9. jadzia’s death was heartbreaking and confusing and i think having a confused successor perfectly mirrored the feelings of losing her.
Met her at DragonCon 2011, super friendly and cheerful person. Always that lovely smile and cheery attitude when I saw her. Ezri was one of my favourites, a surprise after Jadzia's departure.
Both Daxes were played by nice ladies. Different to TNG where the ladies were unpleasant.
She's adorable.
Wow, she's even more beautiful now than she was then. Personally, i loved Ezri from the get go. Yeah, I missed Jadzia, but Ezri was a relatable character.
She is a great looking woman.
My friends all ask me why I crush on older women. It's simply because those "older women" have been my crushes since I was a child.
But she's still gorgeous! Can't believe I hated her when she replaced Jadzia...
Exactly 1 year and 1 week older than me. Haha never knew I was a attracted to an older woman :) Plus she still looks younger than myself!
@@willowfrog33 I liked her. She was not just some Jadzia Clone, but a different character. And I clearly saw the "Dax" aspects in her the same as in Jadzia.
I was very happy to see Nicole de Boer come onto DS9. She's gorgeous!!
I'm watching DS9 for the first time. I'm gutted we only got 1 season with her. She's great.
When Nicole makes her entrance at Sisko's she was so cute/beautiful!
Loved her in 'The Dead Zone' also; another Michael Piller gem.
'To boldly.. stay put' really got me, damn
Wow... it's kind of bizarre to go straight from watching some DS9 episodes to seeing these cast interviews on CZcams.
Nicole is still very beautiful, but she and Cirroc Lofton were so young when they were on the show, the difference in appearance is more dramatic. For everyone else, they were middle-aged, and years later they look much the same except with a few more wrinkles and some graying hair. Nicole and Cirroc went from almost-teenagers to mid 40s. I don't think anyone else except for Wil Wheaton was this young when they were a part of Star Trek... is that right?
bobdonda
I have to say I think she's prettier now.... but I'm 15 years older, too. lol
Not sure if this counts, but Clint Howard was 7 when he guest starred as Balok in TOS, 36 when he guest starred as Grady in DS9, and 43 when he guest starred as Muk in Enterprise.

We boldly sat in Quark's bar, and traded rumors!
Who Mourns for Morn? Not me I knew he wasn't dead from the very beginning of that episode. Not sorry for spoilers it's 20+ year old episode!
As much as I love/d Jadzia, I wish we could've had more time with Ezri and Nicole - a Season 8. I know there are novels with Ezri, but I'm not a reader.
You should start. Ezri's character is much more fleshed out in the post DS9 show books.
A confusing response--a bit unnecessary, not really in the spirit of Trek.I mean considering there are many levels, and ways, to be a fan.
I was intending to start building a 1:500 TOS Connie today--after completing a 1:1000 NX-01 Refit, lighting and customizing a 1:677 U.S.S. Voyager---pouring hours into looking at CGI renders, studio images, interviews, and other fan builds.
But sure, okay I'll stick to Power Rangers. The saucer section will be pink, secondary hull blue, nacelles yellow...gotta keep the nav lights red and green. I suppose the deflector dish can be black...the windows white. I think I'm going to have a Mighty Morphin' time!
@@BloodofPatriots Except she switches to command and doesn't become a counselor.
Loved Nicole in Star Trek and The Dead Zone.
Met her on set today! She is SUPER nice :)
I still remember her from Cube. It actually took me a minute to recognize her in DS9. I though she played great characters in both.
I hope she joins STO someday. Would love to see captain Ezri on the Aventine!
DS9 technically speaking, was not stationary in two ways:
1). Nothing is stationary in space
2). All of the characters, story lines and arcs evolved in the most unpredictable, realistic ways; a journey for us all
well technically nothing is stationary. The milky way is moving within an expanding universe
I believe the actual phrase she used was “ stayed put “
Stayed put doesn’t necessarily mean stationary
Wasn't it a station and not stationary? If you are unaware of the difference's it makes your original post a bit moronic doesn't it? Technically speaking it wasn't called Deep Stationary Nine was it? Were you grown in the hydroponics bay?
She gets more Gorgeous with every year even without the makeup. If anything, Star Trek Deep Space Nine limited her career by not allowing her to fabricate the character as much as she could. I really want to see her in more productions.
The thing about DS9 is that every main character did things and behaved in ways that could have turned the fans against them. Especially Kira. But none of the main characters jumped off the cliff to their death as Jadzia did in the Season 2 episode ' Blood Oath '. Sisko asked Jadzia "Do you really think if you return your going to just walk in here and carry on as though nothing has ever happened?" For this fan Jadzia should have never returned and in fact that Jadzia never did return. The writers took the audience viewers far into the series before they disposed of the self inflicted fatality way back in season 2 ' Blood Oath' of Jadzia. Fans not seeing a Whole trill again until the final season introduction of Ezri Dax.
She`s right technology advanced so fast , in parts we`re past DS9 tech our tablets are better than theirs were
One of my favorite scenes in DS9 is when ezri is introduced at the door to sisko's restaurant.
i like her looks in that interview better than in the show. she looks more mature, a rounder face, much nicer hair....so beautiful....
Even more beautiful now than on the show. And a genuinely nice cheerful person.
She is still working it. Both her and Jadzia were total babes on the show, but I loved the way that they were not only hot, but played an active role in the stories.
what ds9 added to startrek was depth. my favourite series is tng, but ds9 is a very very close second. tng had a lot of exploration, and meeting different cultures and lots of complex moral dilemmas.ds9 expanded on the cultures we already knew(specially the ferengi, cardassians and bajorans) in ways tng simply couldnt, given the different nature of the show.
Nicole de Boer is truly a very beautiful and artistic woman. She added so much into Star Trek and into film. It's wonderful to get her input on the franchise in this interview. If only Berman continued the story onward and she got to be a captain. She would've been the best captain ever even better than Janeway.
A few of the trek actors have said that about Armin... How he reached out and befriended them from day 1
Such a contrast from the conniving scheming Quark. It shows what a great actor Armin is.
Happy birthday nicole from italian boy live in rome
She sounds so Canadian! I know she is in fact Canadian... But after growing up watching Ds9 I'm not used to it. xD
17 years after the show ended and she looked even better then!
Jeez...she is still VERY beautiful...at 45 (here)!
So expressive and natural very admirable
they ought to make a short series of Ezri on the Aventine. Next to Bashire her character was my favorite character and DS9 was and still is my favorite Trek show.
Nog steeds een lekker ding
Jadzia was good, and...Ezri came...and I wished there was 8 more seasons with Ezri because she is just a fab actress!!
From the movie Cube?
Absolutely beautiful woman.... And also in mannerisms...
she is so lovley
She is still beautiful, wow!
Woah she's still beautiful!
I had such a crush on her... of course... i was younger then.
Having her was like Ally Sheedy joining Star Trek. It was awesome.
Shes so cute and her lisp always had me from day 1!
"But actually Armin was the one who was really the nicest"
I will never get over the fact that that despicable little Troll, that pathetic and mischievous thief, was played by a person who somehow manages to be even kinder than most other actors on the show.
oh my
Wow she is amazing looking! Looks better now!
is it not Nicol de boer as last name is Dutch ? O.o
btw who has a name named Nicolé eee as if its canadian..
are there any star trek novels on Nog ,Ezri, Section 31, Quark, or Red Squad
They show up and are featured in the ds9 realunch novels.(except for red squad not sure on them).
everyone say's armin is just a joy to work with, x) i'd like to meet him one day.
We love ya too, Nikki!
Leaven😘😘
Star Trek does rule ✌️❤️❤️❤️🥰🖖
She was soooo cute.
She looks very beautiful as she matures into a lovely woman. I like her with long hair too. She must have been a young girl when she did DS9.
today nicole 53 years
my favorite Canadian actress since 98. The british-Columbian Gwyneth paltrow, except much more down to earth and unpretentious. I'd love to meet her, and get a photo with her at some sci-fi convention one of these days, but I just missed the one in Ottawa because im 'out of the loop' and didn't find out about it until the last minute. anyways....she's obviously lovely, and seems like good people-
pure pure beauty, those eyes... mg, save us all
She's still lovely :)
Beautiful.
Looks so much better with long hair.
"A real tear."
Leaven forever
Wow, she be bubbly!
God, so in unbelievably beautiful.
She's lovely
What a gorgeous woman
Prime numbers
One of the rare American actress who ages well. Young she was super cute, a pure sexual fantasy. Shame to have never seen her with pigtails... She would have been even more "cute"
Here she kinda looks like Michelle Pfeiffer. DS9 got better and better and she was really the final touch! Love the end of this vid btw lol
I Li ked Ezri more than Jadzia.
In making Dax the 9-lives wise character, I think the writers were blocked by any development, so Jadzia was mostly a science-term spewer or the wise-cracking sidekick; both of which worked well, thanks to Terry Farrell.
But with Ezri’s non trained setup, she was far less confident, allowing much more development.
So Ezri actually had more eps about her, than Jadzia’s handful.
Even lovelier now than she was then.
Her long hair is NICE!!!! I like Ezi SHORT HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
I actually think she might look more attractive now than she did then
One Word Cube
One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.
She's still a cutie.
Still a cutie!
ssssmokin!!!
de Boer she is from a Dutch decent.
Much better with long hair
How old is she?
+Quaishaun Colbert (Shaun) 44! We need to hunt her down and make her tell us where the fountain of youth is.
Honestly her Pixie Dream Girl was such a JARRINGLY different Dax, I hated it at the time. I liked the way that Terry's Dax was rough and ready and (for the time) intensely progressive and Nicole's character seemed like a step backwards. She grew on me though .. but really.. Terry's departure was honestly CRAP. Whoever it was, screw that person!
:) Such a beautiful lil face.
Haha to boldly stay put
Jadzia forever. Ezri was good, but Jadzia FOREVER.
It's subjective. I was always a bit bored if Jadzia had a lot of focus in an episode. Ezri I immedeately liked and found more interesting.
Marry me!
still sounds cute like a little mouse
yum
She was much better than Jadzia. I wish she had been Dax much sooner than she was. I hated the whole Worf/Jadzia thing. It was cringy.
I loved both of them equally, but I do agree that the Jadzia/Worf pairing was cringy; and it seemed forced too.
With Kira and Odo, their pairing was sweet and endearing, because the series developed it for years, so it felt natural. But Jadzia and Worf just met when he arrived on DS9, and within a few episodes they're suddenly getting married. What were they thinking? I didn't buy it at all.
JanetStarChild well they getting married in season 6 epi 7 but there worf was allready 2 seasons in the show i think they great twogether and i wouldnt want it in diffrent way
We definitely disagree on the Kira/Odo relationship. I was willing to buy that Odo was in love with Kira, but nowhere did I see any indication that Kira was in love with Odo until the writers sprang that revelation on us. It was as if the writers forced a sudden change of heart onto Kira because they felt that a lot of fans wanted those two to be paired up. I felt that Odo's brief relationship with that other woman (can't remember what the episode was called) was far more natural than the long relationship he had with Kira toward the end of DS9.
To their credit, the actors played out the Kira/Odo relationship well. It's just a shame that they were working against the precedent of Kira's non-interest that had already been established. It reminds me of the issue I had with Rom. Rom started out as a murderous fiend who made Quark look like a saint in comparison. Later on, the writers decided to change Rom into a lovable and progressive character. Even though the new Rom was written and acted well, it didn't work because of the way Rom had been introduced to us.
As for the Jadzia/Worf relationship, I thought it was okay. I wasn't crazy about the relationship simply because I never liked Jadzia as a character. But when you consider that Worf's last serious relationship had been with a strong woman, the Worf/Jadzia relationship does make sense.
I likeher better than jadzia
Still a beauty.
Yes, definitely no Trill spots, lol
