Little sisters are changing photography because they are not gear geeks. Forty plus megapixel phones can do more than ILCs cam. Simple as that.

Excellent; Common Sense Vs Ego. I really appreciate this. My D700 is old and it still works 12 Megapixels and it delivers the most gorgeous colours, better colours than my Fuji. My XT1 is no slouch, it delivers beautiful images. Let’s Travel and document our world. Let’s develop our skills - that is the magic.

I agree with your guitar story. I originally got back into photography when I bought an Olympus camera. It was so tiny and stylish and fun to use that it actually made me do more and improve more because I carried it everywhere. I feel the same joy now using my fujix100f

Glad for the point you make here about MP's and backups. I preach this all the time. People are always chasing more pixels and I'm trying to explain to them that those files then have to LIVE somewhere. I run out of storage frequently as it is. More and more MP's is actually a deal breaker for me when it comes to a new camera....

Once again this makes perfect sense man , I am selling so much more of my art by focusing on exsposure with not using the latest gear.
When I visit the camera stores I see so many people focusing on the latest lens or megapixel camera and spending unnecessary money on gear .
This is sad because photography is a art that we see through the lens and gear only contributes to a small percentage of the end result.
This is so true. Every camera gear make in the last 10 years are good. And are capable of making images. The problem is the user.
And people still think new camera means better photo. Which is not.
Gear review/photos people share online etc.. photos shown are usually if not all are after edit/post process. Many people didnt realize that and always thought if they get the gear they will instantly get those results/photo. Which is not.

Fantastic video. Straight to the point with no nonsense. I've gone from Nikon and fuji to Sony. I totally regret getting rid of my Fuji gear and am going to return to it. (you passive influencer).

We are in between of brands war for more-mega-pixel-super-ultra-fast-dynamic-range-with greatest optically engineered big lens- complex cameras.😅 This video stumbled upon me and putting me sane and aware to invest and spend money more in experiences or looking for inspiring sources (as you’ve said in video) rather than those newest shiny gears. I have x-pro 2 and few lenses along with sony a7c (for works). But as your experience, accessibility for handling & friendly interface, plus its “humble” looks are matter in real life beside those tempting features (any brands applicable too). Yes, I have the budget wise and maybe upgrade it someday. Not before the day it stopped working and unable to serve me (like my broken Ricoh GRi which I loved). Greetings! I agree, not everyone needs the latest and greatest. I’ve been using Lumix Micro 4/3 cameras for a while. I know they are not the best in low light, their autofocus is not great , but they do what I need them to do and I have learned to work around their limitations.
Also, a few years back, I wouldn’t have purchased used gear. Now, my most recent cameras have been second hand purchases. One of those purchases was a X100F which has become my everyday camera. I truly enjoy using it.

Someone once said to me "taking a great picture is 20% about the gear and 80% the photographer". Which is so true. I've been using a 7year old XT1 and a 10 year old XE1. Ive had more fun with them than what I would a newer camera and would go as far as saying, have taken way better shots too.
These gear photographers nowadays, seem to be putting too much pressure in people to go out and buy the newest gear!
Good advice. I myself was caught up with megapixels but now realise that you still get amazing shots from even 12, 16, 20 megapixels.

I like your style of presentation, content and photography.Most videos including yours speak to a broader audience mostly professional.
Being retired and in my mid 80’s keeps me grounded in travel and street photography. I share my still photography on line.
Professionally I worked with large company’s in printing management. I have a knowledge of color reproduction.
I struggled with what to do with my images and sharing was my final choice.
My personal point view concludes “Start out with the end in mind” Don’t fall for the Marketing gimmicks which are attractive but in most cases you may never use.
In many cases you reinforced my own thoughts that evolved over 25 year about non-professional photography.
I ended up with a first generation Sony A7. Plus an F2-28mm prime my favorite lens. I also use a kit telephoto more then likely designed for a first generation A7 pre G Master lens. I own a pricy G Master telephoto but like you said do you want to carry that around all day that’s frankly not much better. Perhaps designed for the later version A7 series. I point and shot all the time on tour. Unless you stay overnight you can’t always wait for the perfect moment.
My last trip Sept 2018 a tour in Italy was a dream trip shooting over 7000 image. I shoot many angles and different compositions at the same location and enjoy post press that show many details I missed while shooting. I always find time to enjoy the location so put down the camera and enjoy the multidimensional experience. 24mp allows for many cropping adjustments in composition. I make it a point limit my time on the computer. It took me 8 months to process 7,000 images.
The good news is your videos motivated me enough to make this lengthy comment and share my love of photography.
My advice is spend more time on what you want from photography and less from what to buy. Then your choices are easier when you purchase the right gear to produce the best results with the thought that “Content is still King” Keep up the great work on your video’s. Photography. I'll try to open a little bit more the topics and concepts. My dream is to have a beautiful conversation between all of us that love this lenguaje that is photography. By the way I have been lucky enough to visit the south of the States several times and I love the land and the people, actually in a couple of months I´ll visit a good friend in Mississippi. @@The_Raw_Society When travel is safe try New Orleans that would be in the Southeast USA with a French/African influence and a Camera 🧲 California and Mexico would have a strong Spanish Influence. Very spread out. In California The 21 Spanish Mission Trail comes to mind. I love your advice about a good pair of walking shoes and walk before you shoot. For me when safe I would like to do a cruise out of the UK (maybe a week in the UK) to the Mediterranean with several stops in Spain, Greek Isles, Italy, France. I totally agree regarding size. I began my so called career in the early 90's using a couple of Pentax ME Super's and a few lenses. I used them photographing conflicts in Bosnia, Northern Ireland Lebanon etc. They certainly had their limitations, but were reliable and unobtrusive.

I acquired the X-Pro 1 last summer, and it is so much fun to use. When and if it and my X-T2 break I will probably just get some of the X-Pro cameras. They are fun.

I like the matter-of-fact-ness. I like the feeling of the camera being the craftsman's hammer, their reliable tool which they know, down the merest scratch on the aperture ring. I like the lack of distraction. This is good.

Really enjoying your channel. This is an interesting subject. Often when I travel, I find myself wanting wide angles and then super telephotos, along with key focal lengths like 28mm, 35mm. I've tried soo many cameras. My favorite film camera years ago was Contax T2. So I've been trying the digital equivalent of that in size, focal length and quality.

Such an honest opinion is rarely seen on CZcams. Congratulations on this video and your course, which I have watched 5 times and made notes on. Your words on framing and composition could not ring truer! Years ago I set upon creating something I call my Jet Set Travel Stuff... Camera and lenses yes, but chargers, power adapters, a backpack or two, all the way down to underwear! I travel with one main body and 2 lenses, one a prime, mostly. The key is weight to performance ratio, I call it my kit density. It is even more important when you get older. Give me a compact 28mm over a 50mm f1.2 any day, every day. You are so right, buy a ticket (when you can), not a lens. I am not a professional, nor do I aspire to be one. I am an older gentleman whose wandering days are long past, but I can still dream, and can afford to travel. I am blessed to be in this position and to have found you two... Perhaps one day, I can enjoy your company on a travel workshop.

Camera Reviews, I don’t follow…. I use a Leica CL, an Sl2s and an M6 mark 11, and an Xt3…
The funny thing is that any camera is good, it’s the passion and the eye involved. You capture a moment, stopping time. I also think the lens as well I love the vintage vibe, the Takumar, the Konica Hexanon… I also have a 23mm lens… I Find though it comes down to this… If it’s your passion it will show in your work. I am far from a professional photographer, but my passion has take me on a journey, and I feel I’m constantly improving with it

Glad it was helpful! Actually since today and after 3 years one of my Pro2 died so I just got the Pro3 ;)
I have only a fujifilm x-a2 with a vintage lens and a rollei 35. The fuji will be the last digital camera because 16mp are enough to tell stories or make a documentary project and for prints too. And the rollei is pocket-sized and have amazing quality lens.

Estoy totalmente de acuerdo con la postura con la que Jorge abordó este tema, yo personalmente he pasado varias decenas de horas viendo "reviews" ...ja!, he caído en la tentación de querer tener tal o cual cámara, más megapíxeles, mejor IQ, etc. Estamos muy vulnerables a tanta información y lo que nunca pensamos en realidad es que basta y sobra con lo que tienes a tu disposición... Al final lo que importa es lo que tu sientes al hacer una foto con el equipo que tengas, la satisfacción de poder lograr estéticamente una composición, no es mejor un platillo por la estufa en donde se elaboró ¿verdad?, es el factor humano es que realmente importa y da sentido a la imagen. Recibe un saludo.

Suscribo lo dicho en este video, muy necesario frente a esa enfermiza obsesión por los listados de especificaciones, que es en lo que se ha convertido el diálogo (por llamarlo de alguna manera) fotográfico. La imagen, finalmente, es el sentido, desde las primeras emulsiones químicas de Niépce hasta el sensor digital desarrollado hoy en la mañana.

Hello! I mainly use optical, but of course from time to tome I take advantage of the electronic :)
@@The_Raw_Society Thanks Jorge. I really like the XPro3, which is both an endearing and paradoxical camera. By that I mean that many people use it almost exclusively in EVF, whereas the EVF of the XT range is very superior (especially for those who wear glasses like you and me). For me, the OVF is more "natural", but I find that it's not very easy to use in manual focus mode, except possibly with the zone focusing technique. I really appreciate both your photos and your insights into your practice (you're a real "fisher"!), which I find very inspiring. Best wishes for the end of 2023!
Agree with you. I never see the point of buying the latest camera. Like the quote: the eye takes a photograph not the camera. Also use Fujifilm, X Pro 1 and X-T1. My carry all the time camera is the Ricoh GRII. In my street photography, I need to look as less like a photographer as I can. One camera, one lens and no camera bag. Always. Camera settings dialled in so I can take a shot without fiddling about. The exposure compensation dial is the only thing I'll use and then only if I have to.

Hi, hope you can give me some help please. I have brand new films not expired all 35mm - Portra 400, Portra 160 and Fujicolour Pro 400H, Kodak Tri-X 400 - which ISO gives the most pleasing results for each of these films? Will be using with Leica M6.
I love the Jersey. I am saving up for an x100v .I wish a miracle can happen so I get the Xpro3 haha.just wishful thinking.Currenlty I use a Canon 200D, the shutter sound makes it difficult to do street photography.

What Fujifilm series would you suggest for using with their 70-300mm lens? Will an x-pro with the optical view finder work ok? I'm planning on 13mm + 33mm + 70-300mm setup. I Just can't figure out what Fujifilm camera to buy.
Hi Elazar! I'm sure that an X-pro type EVF can handle the 70-300 but definitely with an XT series would be better! In my opinion if you are going to use telephoto lenses a lot I would go for the XT kind of body

It depends on what kind of photographer you are, I would suggest a 35mm or a 40mm but you can check the differences here: czcams.com/video/yAIbFNIs4ZE/video.html
Un tipo con un increíble sentido común… que en realidad eso no es tan común! Y que refrescante no ver otro video de CZcams en donde el artista se vanagloria de tener la cámara de 100megapixels
So sure - nobody ever told that your photographs look bad because of the image quality. But nobody told you they're especially good because of the image quality, either. I like the photos of medium format cameras especially since they have some kind of depth in their bokeh that's missing with the compact 35mm f2. So nothing wrong with Fuji, but give the bigger lenses a go. They're amazing, especially the new lineup of 1.4 lenses.
Oh I'm sure that the new lenses are fantastic, I also love medium format witch I use like I say at the beginning of the video. The point of the video though is that I think that is more important to spend money in doing things than in gear. In any case thank you very much for taking the time to comment I love the idea of using this "space" to have this one and other conversations!

These days you can just grab a Canon 6D for 400$ and go with that. Even with the lens it would be less than 1k. I assure you it will last forever :D
