    Class A amplification is very good and can drive even insensitive full-sized hps with ease.

    Amazing video quality, the depth of your review is impressive as well. Hope to continue seeing IEM evaluations on Audio-In Reviews!

    I got the R5S for a friend of mine so he could happily power his Kinera NanNa 2.0 to their limits and, well, it finally got a decent challenge when he bought himself a set of Sennheiser HD650 headphones. Compared to its little brother, the R3 Pro Saber, I'll say that they actually have pretty similar tonality and even detail retrieval. So the house tuning on the chipset is basically the same, you just get way, way more power, a larger screen, a substantially easier to live with OS, and different connectivity options mainly targeted toward headphones over IEMs. I hope when they revamp their R3 lineup that we get an android revamp with a slightly larger screen. HiBy's music app is actually pretty nice on Android, so I'd love to have an option tailored more toward IEM and moderate impedance headphones that doesn't cost nearly $400 after taxes and shipping. If you just want to use it for bluetooth streaming and wired DAC functionality with just the occasional instance where you play music from local storage, then the R3 Pro Saber is still a very nice little DAP with fantastic detail retrieval and neutral tuning that verges on analytical without losing the dynamics you need to enjoy your music. Since they finally decided to make a version of the R5 with Saber DAC and amp chips, I'd imagine it's even closer to the sound from the R3 Pro Saber.
    I will say, even the power output from the R3 Pro Saber is already way more than you need for 95% of IEMs. I have it on single-ended mode and if I use it as a DAC for my PC and set the PC volume to 100% then I can't turn the volume on the DAP higher than, like, 30% with my GS Audio GD5. I mean, they're sensitive and low impedance IEMs, but that's on low gain mode. High gain mode had be turning it down even further. Even the Kinera NanNa 2.0 didn't take more than 70% volume on high gain mode and they've got Sonion's electret drivers which really love power even if their sensitivity and impedance don't look like it. So, if you want a small, relatively inexpensive, and reasonably competent little DAP to carry around trade shows to demo IEMs on, you could do worse than the R3 Pro Saber. Try to pick it up on one of AliExpress's many sales.

    Got it about 2 months ago. Quite a problematic set. It hangs often and have to reboot with power and vol to restart each time. Then the 3.5mm jack could not produce sound. Went to agent and got a replacement. Less problem but the android still lagging in starting and had since hanged once requiring a reboot. The sound is great no doubt. Btter than the dfr I was using and the Sony A55

      Hmm, that is strange I have had the unit for 6 months and did not experience hanging?

    I suppose, in Class A amp mode it produces a tremendous amount of heat. Especially when it is placed into its leather case.

    I saw on your table Blessing 2 and the Dusk version. Is it worth to upgrade? How the sound changed apart from more bass? Less bright maybe? Thank you in advance.

    Thanks fir the review! One think that concerns me is my large (>80k tracks) library, and I rely mostly on streaming from DLNA. As a user who puts his library on a SD card, how large a library do you believe this DAP can handle? What are some of the practical, and impractical, aspects of depending on a 2Tb SD card?

      Queste recensioni dicono che questi DAP possono gestire Micro SD da 256gb, 512gb, 2 Tb, ma mai quante tracce! Nel mio Hidizs AP80 Pro-X c’è ne sono oltre 23000 per 169gb, ma ne legge solo 20000, e trovo la cosa insopportabile per questo limite! Non trovo un DAP che me le legga tutte.

      I am new to the Hiby R5 Gen 2. It is a awesome DAP. For that money you won't get much more. I use the class AB for listening on the go or just so around the house. And if I sit and concentrate on the music, then I turn on class A. So in other words. Class AB sounds awesome too. Better than my iPhone with dongle.

    You know, almost no audiophile reviewers take the opportunity to try an introduce non-audiophile people into the world of high quality sound. Why not make each video for the wider audience? So, what is a DAP and why would I want one ? Is my phone not enough?

    • @ravencabatbat2997
      @ravencabatbat2997 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Your phone is enough, just get some Earphones/IEM or headphones with great tuning. And to level it up, get some external DAC/Amp.
