What's crazy is that I still have all of these from when they actually came out. I kept all of my toys from when I was a kid. I Have the OG Lion-O that came with the ring that you plugged into his back to light up his eyes. Glad I kept all of that stuff.
These are good to get for someone just getting into MOTU. I grew up with the 2000s era he-man but only had the happy meal skeletor toy, not sure what happened to it, but I had the raptor later on. Im getting into the vintage line recently along side classics but the prices are a bit too high so its nice that super 7's new figures are a bit cheaper so I can build out my collection. I always wondered why the figures never matched the show when I was younger, I had a friend whos cousin loved the filmation show and the toys always looked funny to me.
Very excited to get the first two waves and He-Ro and Eldor, didn't have a ton of these growing up so my son can enjoy what I didn't get to, and I can along with him! :)
Dan that robot He-man is not faker it is from the episode Disappearing Act in which Man at Arms was told to make a robot He-man to fool Skeletor until Adam got back his missing sword that ork had made vanish and went after. but yer it a good looking figure and it seems better done then the 7 inch version.
The heads are much bigger in scale for the male figures as opposed to the vintage ones. The size of the head for the 5.5s fit perfectly well for the 7 inch figures. That's what I feel.
Pixel Dan's videos are a bad influence to me. Every time I watch one I end up wanting to buy what he's reviewing. LOL! Cool toys from a cool reviewer! Well done as always Pixel Dan. These are so cool.
The swirly shoulder must have something to do with the mold, because even the vintage figures would have this from time to time. My cousins prince Adam did, mine didn't, and my he-man did, his didn't. So it's not really a defect, more of an homage to the vintage toys ;)
I just got these in the mail !!! They are awesome !!! The paint apps are great on all of mine. Teela doesn't stand great (weird, because my She-ra stands fine). Man-At-Arms and Beast Mans are my favs. If you aren't collecting these, you are missing out !!!
Well to each their own because anyone who collect these figures are wasting their money imo! They are ugly figures, theres literally no details on the sculpts, they are completely smooth looking, they are super glossy and they are not even close to the level of quality, sculpt details and overall look compared to the original figures! But again its nothing personal, good for you if youre happy with them. Like i said before, to each their own
@@jasonvoorheesthethird Ugly? These figures are better. Look like in the cartoon. Did you look the old Teela, She-ra, Beast Man, Orko, Mer Man,..? 0% same than in the cartoon and looked a bad joke. I was a child and so I did not see those details. Now I see it. Who tells the old figures 80s were high quality is really blind. Those figures were for children, for to play. These new figures are for adults, for to collect.
Zellgadiss Graywords good for you if you prefer those figures over the originals. But they are ugly figures and they are not worth the money in my opinion. I was born in 1976, so i enjoyed the MOTU figures during all my childhood, i know exactly how they were. And since i still own all my figures, i can also confirm that they were high quality figures, only the legs were doomed to be defective over time because of the way they were build. But beside that, they were high quality figures, even after all those years, my figures are still in “like new” condition, and believe me, ive played with them every single day! Those new figures are lacking details compared to the original, the sculpts are missing details, they are too smooth looking...i have literally no idea how you dont see that! But like i said in my previous message, to each their own, so im honestly happy for you if you like them, i hope you will enjoy them. But personally, i wont waste my money on them, they are not even close to be as good as the originals imo, especially regarding the details of the sculpts, and the plastic they used is also way too glossy for my taste, so ill stick with the originals. I dont need those new figures, the Filmation figures are by far my favorite anyway. So enjoy them, and i hope they will release many more figures for the fans like you who like to collect them!
Not a big fan of Beastman, with his lack of fur and his strange harness that looks like a buoy, but Man at arms (in all his Burt Reynolds face and moustache glory) and Teela look great
Just subscribed Dan! I love these guys, the vintage and Classics. I think Super 7 is doing a fantastic job. The ONLY thing I noticed on both their new figure lines, the actually plastic is for sure darker on HeMan and Tella, and ofcourse a little glossy like you pointed out. Love these! Thanks for the review! Glad I found someone else that is getting these!

The paint job on these retro figures is sooooo good. Paint just looks awesome. Has a glowing translucent quality to it
More like 'They Live' He-Man. 😂

Man-at-arms is by far my favourite MOTU Character. I like his design and his personailty in the Comics and Cartoon series.

This wave overall looks great, an improvement over wave 1, leg joints are vast improved. Fav out of this wave is Beastman! Just love his overall look.
That's a REALLY cool Burt Reynolds figure. Ahaha. These are awesome

That Teela is really beautiful. The head sculpt is perfect. Its just a shame her legs are designed in that weird way.

Something about those vintage style figures.... it's like someone left them in a hot car all day. They look slightly melted.
