    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety

      That needs to be opened with a screw driver to access the battery and its a bit tricky if you are not savvy with electronics, ill make a video about soon and ill upload it you must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT GET SHOCKED if you are willing to go at your own risk and just make sure you you unplug it from the wall jack & unplug the connecter that is under the UPS system so the battery wont be in contact. Hope this helps and be extremely cautious.

      the prongs to connect the battery are curved at the tips. it does seem to snap in the plug and is loose and easily falls out. How do you get it to connect completely in? Further the "yellow" connector extends so far out, that the device can not be positioned flat and it rocks on its base. Is there a trick?

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety

      You’r welcome, I highly agree with you not all printers can plug in to the UPS but keep in mind it all matters to what wattage the UPS supports, lets say you have a desktop a monitor and printer with a total usage wattage of ~700 watts and your UPS supports lets say 900 watts then you are good if the power cuts off the battery can handle that amount of wattage but if you plug those ~700 watts on a 450 watt UPS it will burn the fuse.

    I just bough it! I have a question. Can I connect all my devices already or do I have to first let the battery charge and after it charges proceed to plug my devices into it? The green light is still flashing after I connected my router and a laptop to the battery + surge area. Is it normal? Does it means it’s charging? Hope you can answer my doubts!

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety +2

      Its okay for you to connect right away, but the flashing part sounds like its not getting power from the outlet & by the way the surge area is not protected by the battery meaning if ur electricity turns off the devices would turn off too incase you did not know, it should be solid light

    • @chrisfer3882
      @chrisfer3882 Před 3 lety

      @@USComputerSolutions thanks for your reply! The light is flashing from time to time but according to the manual is due to the battery charging and when it’s fully charged it should go all green. I have a tower fan I was going to ask you if it’s possible to connect it or if it could give me any issues?

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety +2

      Ah if its blinking from time to time i guess it’s charging assuming you have connected the battery from below the device. Regarding the fan, well personally as a systems engineer and a tech for over 14 years i have never connected a fan to a ups system, i am not saying it’s impossible to connect a low wattage fan I’m saying i have not, anyways in the technical part of the ups i guess you can connect a low wattage fan to the (surge area) & again if your fan is low wattage less than 200 watts you maybe fine I dont recommend it buy thats up 2 you. Oh and never connect a heater to it either even if it has a fan it will run the fuse off of that thing.

    This model, after the electricity goes off, it stays on for only 2 hrs and 20 minutes, EVEN WITHOUT ANY LOADS. This unit comes with a 12V 4.5AH battery, so I added in parallel a 12V 35AH battery to it, that makes it a 12V 39.5AH unit. It's supposed to last 5 hours without electricity for what I'm using it for(about 90 Watts), but it doesn't. At first I thought it was overheating with the load I was putting it through, so I tried very light loads, like 10 Watts, and it would still shut off at 2 hrs and 20 minutes, so I tried it without any loads whatsoever... same thing. Does anybody knows how to override this?

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on what you have plugged in the battery area (and it depends on what model you buy from these ups systems) now for example one monitor and one computer will last maybe 10 -15 minutes for this particular mode in the video but if you want longer time check this video description you will see more options also check out this video czcams.com/video/vEy0ICYevUs/video.html this one last between 45-60 minutes, KEEP IN MIND IT ALL DEENDS ON WHAT YOU PLUG IN THEM the larger ones can handle more load by the way and last longer check the links in the description to see differences between them all, hope this helps please consider subscribing if you haven’t already, thank you in advance

      @yayciencia Před 4 lety

      @@USComputerSolutions The APC 450 model you have is different from the APC 900 model. The 900 model has a removable battery that you need to attach wires to, and that causes a small spark (normal behavior). We figured out that we need to attach the wires quickly. It only sparks when the connectors are very close together but not attached yet (electricity jumps the air). For novices like us, who were going slowly, it freaked us out! We put on rubber bottom shoes and decided to try it again and it was ok. It's working now and there are no sparks now that the wires are attached. Our APC is somewhat warm, not hot. Thank you for the quick response.

    • @yayciencia
      @yayciencia Před 4 lety

      @@deq9r Our APC is warm, not hot. Do you have enough air flow around it? If it's on carpet, I suggest raising it so it's not on anything that would insulate it. Our battery connector fit well. We haven't tried to unplug it. Edit: we are keeping it on 24/7 and so far no problems.

    How do you charge the unit?

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 4 lety +2

      The unit stays charged while plugged in your electricity outlet 24/7, the internal battery kicks in only when you have a surge or a power outage. When the electricity comes back out of that outage the device resumes the charge and it will recharge the battery to the full.
