Well researched video. I like the video but what I expect in this type of videos is title cards or points appearing in the video. Sometime you become lost in visuals so much that you stop listening to audio. Just a suggestion. I'm a video editor and I always try to do that so that viewers can understand the video in best way possible.

I'm a Telugu based short filmmaker and producer and it is so so surprising to hear someone talk about 2018's Tholiprema(your pronounciation was spot on btw).My peers and I have had countless discussions on what made the film different and why it felt different than the usual romance that we see and your analysis more or less gives me my answer. To be fair, barring Sita Ramam, the Telugu industry too seems to be struggling in the genre. I watched Premalu in a full house on a weekday afternoon in Hyderabad(the original language) and everyone seemed to be having a blast. There is a demand for the genre but again, love as a concept itself seems to be evolving.

Do watch Aashiq Abu's Maayanadhi, definitely worth one like the films you mentioned.

    Long comment alert -
I have been watching your videos for about a year now and have really enjoyed the consistency and quality of the videos in the last 3-4 months. There is such a good balance of video essays and podcasts that there is always something good to look forward to. (Also please upload podcasts on audio platforms too)
Coming to the video essays, off late this new style of video essays on your channel are very informative and enjoyable. This video is my most favourite one this year after the Imtiaz Ali & Chamkila one. As both of the videos did an indepth analysis of the subject matter with such meticulous detail and understanding. Give your writers raise from my side and ask them to make such research style videos every once in a while as it stands out from the generic film discussion that is all over the social media everyday.
Regarding podcasts, ask your editor to also add whatever film, show, artist or relevant scene the guest is talking about as a reference on the screen to it becomes more of an enjoyable experience to watch it.
Keep up the good work, I wish many more people discover this channel :)

Not even romantic...It's been a long time since I have watched a good comedy movie. I can name some decent romantic movie. But comedy there is none.
