Hi John, just watched your excellent quality video on the Tudor blackbay black 41, I agree this is a quality piece on the wrist and legibility is also first class for the over 50’s eye site people, I bought mine in late 2016 when the in-house version was first released, I have it now on an Everest black rubber moulded strap which fills the lug area so no gaps showing and make the watch wear slimmer and more comfortable plus reducing weight, it’s keeps excellent time and although I don’t wear it that often I’ve had no issues with it and it’s not going anywhere, being an early version I do have the piano black lacquered presentation box which is far superior to the current version supplied, all in all a quality piece, like yourself I also own the submariner date 116610LN as I do enjoy the styling of the maxi case and the glide lock, I would very much like to see you do a review on the Tudor heritage chrono blue 70330 as I also own this and in my opinion the quality is even higher than the blackbay but very little is heard about this, thanks again for your quality content.

Thank you for watching Anthony. Glad you enjoyed it. Wear yours in good health. Interesting suggestion, thank you. Unfortunately Tudor do not loan pieces to watch channels for review; so that would mean me buying one to make the review (as I have done for many of my reviews). My channel has grown to a level in the last 6 months that I am now able to get some watches on loan from brands for review (rather than buying them from my own funds). It's a shame I can't get Tudor pieces on loan as they make several watches I would love to review. Unlike the larger watch channels I am not backed by a jewelers or brands financially, so don't get pieces offered to me for review. I have been asking brands for loan pieces; but naturally they tend to favour the larger (50K+ subscriber) channels. Regards.

Very thorough review and well executed.
I have this watch and I only don't see why everyone complains about the thickness of the watch. It's meant to be a reinterpretation, a reimagining if you will, of a classic watch design. Back in the day yes watches were smaller, smaller than the BB58 in some cases. But nowadays men prefer something slightly bigger on the wrist.
I'll admit at 200m water resistance, you would have thought they would be able to keep the watch away from the Omega Planet Ocean width territory, but honestly when you try it on you really don't notice it.
So get down to your local AD and try one on if you can, it's the only way to be sure that you are not letting a few mm, get in the way of you owning what is arguably the best value for money divers on the market.

After watching your review and another review by marshal time I purchased this watch , it’s my first luxury watch and was a bit nervous 😬 about spending that amount of money on a watch , but I just love this watch, it screams quality to me , only downside was the rivet bracelet I just don’t like it’s looks I know it’s a superb bracelet but I went for the aged leather strap instead, can not wait to pick it up ! Thanks for a great review and helping me decide on my purchase 👍

Thank you for watching Neil. Congratulations. Excellent choice. Wear yours in good health. I am glad my review helped you. Agreed, many collectors would prefer the bracelet without the rivets. They didn't use them on the ETA powered versions of the Black Bay. The reasoning behind using the rivets is the Black Bay is inspired from the Tudor 7942 Submariner, and Rolex 6538 Submariner (same case and bracelets). They both used rivet bracelets. If you good these pieces you will see the similarity to the Black Bay; no crown guards, big crown, rivet bracelet, guilt dial and hands, red triangle on bezel. Regards.

I own the same watch since 2019 and I'm delighted with it. In February 2021 I bought the BB GMT and I'm more than happy with it in every single way. Both are extremely accurate and works perfectly. I agree talking about the thickness of the watch (14'3 mm. to be exact) and as you say , on the wrist it fits and looks thinner and something that improves its look and use is to wear it well adjusted to the wrist, especially if you wear it with the bracelet. Congratulations for one of the best reviews on this excellent watch.

Great review, very comprehensive and very detailed, well done sir, you just gained a new subscriber. I just picked up this watch this weekend. I actually went into to town to sign up on a BB58 waiting list but instead ended up with this amazing watch, it is 11 out of 10. They did have a BB58 in the store so I was able to compare both watches but the BB58 was too small on my wrist (18,5cm/7,25”), something my wife made very clear, great with a second opinion, by someone who knows you well. Can’t think of any other watch in this price bracket that gives you more value, you got the Brand heritage (Tudor7924), Inhouse movement and the quality of the case, bracelet, dial, hands, bezel, etc. is just perfect as you said in the review. The only minor niggle is perhaps the thickness, if it was 2-3mm less thick it would have been even better, but that is not something I’m bothered about.

I finally got the opportunity to try on both the Black Bay Heritage and BB58 today at a jewelry store. I figured I would like the 58 better because so many people online say it's the perfect size and that the Heritage is too thick. Well, I tried the 58 on first and couldn't believe how small it looked and felt on the wrist. Then I tried on the Heritage and the size was great. I didn't have it on for very long, but I didn't really notice the thickness much at all. My wrists are a little over 7 inches, but probably less than 7.25. Even the sales clerk at the jewelry store said she didn't know why I was even trying on the 58. She literally said to me, "If you had a son, that would be his watch." It's amazing how different the size looks on video versus in person. Definitely have to try these watches on first before buying. I didn't think the size comparison would be so cut and dry for me.

I tried with bracelet but felt the hefty weight of 170 over grams, like strapping an iPhone X to my wrist. Also don’t like rivets, too many and too shiny in my opinion. Earlier BB Classic bracelet is nicer without having rivets. Of course purchase with bracelet would have been more cost effective and last longer than leather. Watch Reviews 4K Just bought the black bay 41mm. Love it. Fits my 7.5inch wrist beautifully. The case height is ideal. The BB58 felt too small and dare I say cheap in comparison. This is gorgeous. Great video. Watched at 3am whilst I was deciding. 👍

@@plangley1989 Congratulations Paul. Excellent choice. Agreed; for a 7.5" wrist the 41mm is perfect. I have an 8" wrist as you will know from my videos; and it's often the case that 40mm and under pieces wear too small. I really think 40mm is the minimum for a 7-8" wrist; with 41mm or 42mm being perfect. Also check out my Laco Mojave and Christopher Ward reviews. I really like their case fits on my wrist. The Black Bay is a real heavy hitter; a champagne watch for lemonade money. Have a look at the Hodinkee article below on the 7924 Submariner. You will see the Black Bay was inspired from it. So many of the features; the rivet bracelet, red triangle, guilt dial and hands, no crown guards case, big crown. That is what I love about the Black Bay it has the pure Tudor heritage and pedigree behind it. The Rolex 6538 and Tudor 7924 were the same watch; only the movements were different. I see the Black Bay as a 2020 heritage reissue of the 7924 Submariner. Wear yours in good health. Regards.
