    I can’t thank you enough for all of your tips and for you taking the time to teach and prepare me for the FB interviews! I’m so excited to say that I got a FB offer and I certainly credit it to you.
    Thank you for your personal sessions with me and creating relevant and real content that can’t be copied. I love your authenticity and your passion to help others excel.

    Super helpful! Just one question, how to answer a follow up question in this case? Eg: Story engagement increased by 10%, but overall time spent on IG is down 5% - how'd you handle/evaluate that?

    Awesome video Dianna.. Just a quick question how do you choose the which users/ user segment to include in A/B testing? like we have power users, creators and consumers...how do you choose them?

    Questions about top line metrics, in the later videos you said topline == North Star which means there is one metric, but why here we have two?

    Question: Could you please do a Strategy type question? Like, "Should Amazon make a smart phone?" Or "You're the CEO of Yahoo. What new products would you launch and why?" Those Strategy questions would be great help (:

    Could you do a video on how you'd decide the order in which to display features on the left-hand side menu bar on the facebook website please? That seems like quite a hard question to me and I still struggled to answer it using the framework outlined in this video (which is super helpful btw!)

    Rerunning non stat sig tests does not always make sense. If we did that in AB testing we would be testing endlessly. If you hit sample it means you had a null hypothesis and need to re look at the overall experience.

    what if the trade off is between two diff products (for ex. increase notifications for events vs fundraisers)? so it’s not a trade-off for aspects of 1 product but trade-off between 2 products?? im currently prepping for PM final round and this is smth that has really stumped me
    thank u for ur videos by the way! very helpful

    Hi Diana,
    What is the Northstar metric for IG stories? is it number of stories with >1 engagement per week?
    Also, when selecting users for this A/B? test, would we randomly select any user of Instagram, or would we filter down the user funnel for a subset of IG users (e.g., those who have viewed stories previously) first?

    Can you cover trade-offs across two products? For example, trading off stories and reels?

    Hi Diana, Why are you using averages for the metrics in this example?

    @dianna - Thanks for clearly breaking down and articulating the trade-off and decision you would make. However, I wonder what if Test group A performed better on the 2 prioritized Story-specific metrics vs. Test group B, but test group B performed better on the IG-level prioritized 2 metrics vs. A. Let's assume both test groups beat control though on all four metrics and there are no major regressions on other metrics. How will you make a decision between the two test groups on which one to launch? Appreciate your input!

      Features like Stories are meant to grow the wider ecosystem of IG, so if metrics only grow the product but not IG prioritized metrics, then that wouldn’t be ideal

    thank you so much for all your videos Dianna! how would this work for a startup that doesn't have PMF yet?

    • @diannayau
      @diannayau  Pƙed rokem

      This framework works just as well for startups without product market fit- you’ll need to get your product to sustain a certain retention before you try to crank up adoption and growth efforts.

    Should the metrics we consider here be Stories specific or the impact to Instagram metrics in general like DAU/MAU, time spent, no of sessions etc.

    • @diannayau
      @diannayau  Pƙed 2 lety

      Hey Vidhi! Youd' want to address both Stories specific and general IG metrics

    How did you define an Active User?

    • @diannayau
      @diannayau  Pƙed rokem

      For IG stories, active user per week is perhaps a user that’s either viewed at least one story in a week OR a user that’s spent say 15 sec on stories
