Jack Webb=AMERICAN BADASS!
I love his voice. I would listen to him read the phone book.
Richard Boone: my armor still like tenfold shields. My teeth are still like swords! My claws still spears, Friday! You know nothing of the shock of my tail.....a thunderbolt!!!!! My wings...a Hurricane!!!!! And my breath, Sergeant. .....DEATH!!!!!!!! WELL????!!!!!! WELL?????!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE YOUR FACTS, NOW????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Ladies and gentleman, the story you are about to see is true. Only the names have been change to protect the innocent.”
Joe Friday is nice with his hands!
Joe Friday - The Bad Boys of ALL Television and Film Cops
God Bless Jack Weeb
R.I.P. Sgt. Joe Friday
Lol...awesome speech Friday!
Actually, the badge was supposed to be 777, but instead they just added the last to numbers together to get 14, thus 714.
Love it.
2 future WESTERN stars-- Richard Boone AND Dennis Weaver! Also, Jack Webb delivers what has to be the most astounding line of dialogue in the entire film. As for the last bit... this wasn't filmed in 3D-- but, apparently, they were thinking about it.
I always wondered why they chose 714 (Babe Ruth's career homers) for that badge number.
ROHR (quaaludes)
A recurring myth was that Jack Webb chose the number 714 because he was a fan of Babe Ruth, who slugged 714 home runs during his career, but it was later asserted in TV commentator Michael J. Hayde's book My Name's Friday that Webb originally wanted the badge number to be "777", tripling the lucky number 7, but decided instead to add the last two digits together to get "14", thus making the badge number "714".
Would jack Webb still be alive at 100 I mean then are peas older then him alive like Norman Lloyd
Jack was a genius and also a heavy smoker and drinker. He ate a lot of junk and worked with only a couple of hours sleep a night. His death at a young 62 didn't surprise anyone that knew him.
@@ponekingpetch3595 He also smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish.
Richard Boone...who plays captain Hamilton in this movie...was the voice of the original Smaug in the 1977 rankin bass cartoon movie..THE HOBBIT.
He also worked for Jack Webb again in the series Hec Ramsey.
@@suzannewillis817 Boone: "Two shots double O buck, the first shot cut him in half."
Friday: "yeah, and the second one turned him into a crowd."
Love that dialogue.
The real life James E. Hamilton is credited as an advisor to the film
I love this. My times worth money yours isn’t.
will be fixing grain/blur and upgrading to hd 1440p to be specific
Dennis Weaver at 0:18
He played a cop in McCloud. He was Marshal Sam McCloud from Taos, New Mexico and winds up in New York City to learn big city police procedures. He often looked like someone from Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma. The TV show McCloud was based on a 1968 film titled Coogan's Bluff which starred Clint Eastwood as an Arizona lawman who goes to New York City to catch a criminal.
Weaver as R. A. Lohrman, Captain, Homicide
That kinda blew my mind. Richard Boone AND Dennis Weaver, together. Never saw either of them so young! And in the 70s, they were BOTH part of the "NBC Mystery Movies"-- HEC RAMSEY (2 seasons) and McCLOUD (7 seasons). The complete series of McCLOUD finally came out on DVD just about 2 years ago! HEC RAMSEY is available as bootleg sets.
Thanksgiving day 1954 ! the first time I saw show..( I was being punished, and could not have anything Sweet to eat, for a Whole Week )!!!...Sempr Fi
the original Smaug
