The 1965 war was great victory for Pakistan and Kargil was another, although there was a very small battalion against the whole Indian army, and top of that there was no air support from Pakistan otherwise Kargil would have been taken.

Factually the Indian military can defeat pakistan as it did in 1971 , but this type of proxy war using 3rd parties is something India can't control. Compared to 1971 Pakistan is to strong militarily, look what happened on 27th February 2019 when the PAF responded.
