Tori, I love watching your videos. They remind me why I love reading. I love your energy and excitement while counting down to your number one. You have had a fantastic reading year indeed!! Ok now let’s talk books. I have owned both Scythe and The Fifth Season for an embarrassingly long time and have not read them. But your words make me think I need to correct that this year! If I do, I think I will check out The Mortal Coin, Exhalation and Do You Dream... They all sound so interesting. Wowwww. Our reading taste is so similar I love looking at what you read because exist I have in my tbr and the others appear to me so I add them to my tbr! A few of these I do plan to read and scythe will be my first read in 2020!

Yes I've been waiting for this video for recs! We seem to have similar reading tastes which gets me PUMPED cuz over the past couple years I've been watching booktube I haven't really found any other booktubers that I rate as consistently closely with on Goodreads. After watching Ninth House get a bunch of 3 stars from other folks, you convinced me to definitely give it a chance!!! Most of the books I give 5 stars to are usually divisive or not to massively popular tastes anyway 😋😋😋
Awesome choices! I love Scythe and The Fifth Season but read them before this year so they didn't make my top books of 2019 list. Ninth House did make the list though because I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love N.k Jemisin’s writing. I read the Inheritance trilogy and it rocked my core. I have Fifth Season and plan to get to it real soon

I just got SCYTHE! I’ve had it on my list all of last year. So excited to start it.
My husband and I listened to LEVIATHAN WAKES a few years ago, and I really enjoyed it but I need to finish the series.

Ok, you had me at ready player one. Neuromancer has just been added to my wish list. Do Androids dream of electric sheep (What a name) sounds like blade runner to me. The fifth season blew me away, I can't wait to read the other 2 books in the series. So many books to add to my tbr now

This list is great! I also loved Scythe, Leviathan Wakes, and The Fifth Season. This list also has some serious great looking recommendations. I really want to read Do You Dream of Terra Two, Exhalation (I seriously want to read Ted Chang as I have not yet done so), Neuromancer, and Daisy Jones. What a great reading year!

Yay for a great reading year! I had a really good one as well. I read a LOT this year and so many excellent books that it's hard to narrow it down. Exhalation and The Fifth Season are at the top for sure. I also enjoyed Do You Dream of Terra-Two? and Daisy Jones and the Six. Other standouts for me were Fireborne and Lovely War as well the first two books in the Bone Season series. They're a bit melodramatic, but there's something about the writing that keeps me reading. I suspect Ninth House will be too dark for me, but I'm super excited to start Scythe. Might have to bump it up in the queue :)

So glad Do You Dream of Terra Two made the list. It was so good. I agree it's not for everybody but I'm glad I ignored the "meh" reviews and read it anyway. It's on my all time list at this point. I love every character story. I'm emotional just thinking about it lol
I also read and loved Daisy Jones and The Six and The Fifth Season, I purchased This Mortal Coil because of your other video but I haven't read it yet. It's on my January TBR though

Based on several of your faves here, I think you might really like The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan. It’s kind of slow paced, but it is so atmospheric and the characters are so palpable. I read it more than a year ago now and I still often find myself daydreaming about it.

Oooh Do you dream of Terra Two is reminding me a little of The Final Six... just a little. Have you read that one? I know the second book comes out February 2020 of that one! But definitely adding Do you dream to my tbr!
I picked up The Final Six for that EXACT reason haha! I was going through Terra-Two withdrawal and needed something similar. I put it down temporarily though because I was juggling so many other books at that time. I’ll get back to it this year though 😃 Happy reading this year!
