St. Louis Great Fire Engine Rally - Great Video For Kids That Love Firetrucks! Part 1

  • The 26th Annual Great Fire Engine Parade and Rally took place Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009.
    Jerry Clinton former Chairman and CEO of Grey Eagle Distributors and Co- Founder of the yearly Guns N Hoses boxing event, served as Rally Marshal.
    The parade started at 10 a.m. from Jefferson and Washington Avenues, proceeded east on Washington Avenue to 4th Street, north on 4th Street to Carr Street, east on Carr Street to Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd., south on Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd. and then to the steps of the Gateway Arch for the apparatus display, firefighter competition, and live demonstrations.
    More than 100 pieces of fire apparatus, both new and vintage, were on display for children of all ages.
    A kids town featuring water games, educational characters and fire safety demonstrations were part of the festivities.
    Firefighters and Buffs from all areas gathered to shop the flea market, participate in firefighter competitions and witness vintage apparatus in operation.
    Demonstrations of Auto Extrication, Water Rescue, and more were performed by City and County Departments throughout the day.
    Spectators enjoyed food, music and the company of fire enthusiasts from around the area.
