This video should be required to watch by all bird owners. It's excellent. Best advice on CZcams. My budgie got ecoli 2 years ago. My avian vet thought it could have been from seed only diet. 3 times a day I had to meditate her. I think she hated me for awhile. We are great now. April you are awesome!

How about a video on how to properly wash bowls, fruits & veggies. Buddy got Salmonella we think, because I used a sponge. I've learned since to throw out all my sponges & use scrub brushes.

Give the BirdTricks pellets a chance. They have two free articles on converting your birdie to them also. My tiel has so much more energy on these she has started to fly to me over short distance down (her wings are clipped). Thanks so much for the great videos, love Maren and Nemo
If you take a look at the TOPS ingredients and BirdTricks you will see similar ingredients. Only difference from what I noticed was TOPS labeled their ingredients organic and BirdTricks natural. Birdie breads are also similar. Tops price was less!
@@ParrotPlayhouseChannel I agree with you. I think their pellets are tops and they put their own label on it but I could be wrong.
@@Loveofpets They are different! Bird tricks recommend TOPS as well as their own... but they are different. They came up with their own pellet after one of their own birds got fatty liver symptoms.

These are amazing, creative ideas! I love them and this video! Also I just thought i would say, ive orded the TOPS pellets you reccomended me. They are coming in the mail shortly! I cant wait for my birdy to try them and i will let you know how it all goes. (If you were confused, im the Australian you reccomended the TOPS pellets too😂) but yes, cant wait! The ingredients are all so healthy and natural! Im hoping he likes them! Also just wondering what the best way of storing them would be? Because of the alfafa im not sure what the best way of going about it would be.❤❤ once again, loved this video and all the helpful ideas!❤
Make sure they r in a sealed tight container. You can freeze half of the bag to keep fresh in freezer bags placed in sealed containers for extra safety. You can also order a second brand and serve together in the future.y birds love choice. Rouddybush, Harrison's and Hagen are also wonderful. Enjoy!!

Do you know what the circular skewers are called as I cannot find anything like them?
How long can you leave the fine pellet powder out? And can you also just mix some seed and pellets together in the mixer and give it to them?
Do I need to chance pallet food bowl daily like seeds if so, then there will be a lot of waste. My budgie eats 1/4 of pallet from his food bowl each day. I heard I could change pallet food bowl once in 2-3 days but I want to make sure it is correct information. Please advise would you?
My lovebird is VERY difficult with food in general so hopefully these tips will help. She refuses any pellets and is scared of veggies

I just got my boy for 3 weeks, almost 10 months old and his previous owner only gave him seeds 😞 and I can't get him to eat pellets. I've tried the mix some seeds with pellets, he just looks for the seeds. He loves his foraging toy and I tried to put pellets in there mixed with millet (I thought, difficult to tell apart) and I thought it was working until I saw him tossing the pellets out and go for millet. I tried chops, mix them with a bit seeds because he's picky but same, he picks them out. Sure he gets some veggies in, but damn. I'm desperate, because I don't want him to get fatty disease. He's too smart for his own good. I can try the powder tho~

I’m struggling to convert my cockatoo to pellets 😢
my parrot WILL NOT! eat pellets. he throws them away and bits me when i try to offer them to him (he never does it otherwise) he HATES pallets
I tried to feed pellets to English sparrows in the garden because my birds won't eat pellets and the sparrows refused to eat them but they will eat left over hash browns, eggs, salad, bread, pancakes and basic kitchen garbage but not pellets. So if sparrows refused to eat pellets I'm not feeding that crap to my caged birds! A good balanced diet of vegetables,nuts, seeds, grass, fruit and food available in the wild. The corporations that push pellets are in it for the money and not your birds health! It is the same with dog kibbles. People are finding that a balanced diet for dogs is much better! If you won't eat it don't feed it to your animals!
I thought pellets aren't healthy either, plus I see a lot of artificial coloring in their food I hear is bad too.
The pellets that have artificial coloring are indeed bad, since it has a lot of sugar. But pellets without color, like Harrison’s, are really healthy and the best for your birds. Personally I use a pellet called Top’s
Only two brands of pellets anyone should be feeding is Top's pellets I Harrison's
All the rest are absolute rubbish. Just look at the Ingredients
Harrison's is good BUT Tops is a clear winner
Those colored “pellets” are full of GMO soy, salt and sugar highly not recommended
Pellets are very dry. They should not be fed exclusively.
You’re right. Birds should eat pellets as a base and accompany it with vegetables. I heard their diet, apart from the pellets, should be 90% vegetables and 10% fruits since fruits have a lot of sugar
