In this video we cut the air dam on my 2018 VMP ODIN supercharged Ford F150. This truck mod is fairly simple and free but makes a big difference in the appearance of the truck. This truck mod is an upgrade from simply removing the air dam to make the truck look lifted in the front because the plastic tabs hanging down and the bolt holes both look finished and clean. Watching other people work has been a hobby of lazy people the world over for the last 50 years and work watching has grown exponentially as a sport in the last 5 years with the rise of youtube. Itâs about to go down fellas. My bone has calcified over and Iâm not hurting that bad to drive anymore. We went into part order and install mode and will launch this sucker hard mode next week.
I love the look of the white F-150. The black hood decal is really a nice touch. Definitely need to find his old air dam and trim it up like the one on the grey one. Thanks for putting together this video. You guys do have a pair of amazing looking trucks.
I was literally just about to trim mine on a 2016. Had the Dremel out, blue masking tape ready to go. Then you said "or just plug the holes with plastic clips..." I'm like ha, why didn't I think of that? I just went that route and cut of the clips hanging down. I'm digging how it looks. I like both ways though. Nice trucks!

Just saw this yesterday and trimmed the spoiler on my 2019 F150 this afternoon. Looks great. Thanks for the how-to!
I used the same 3m green tape. It was in my garage for a couple years and wasnât sticking either. I used a little heat from a heat gun to warm the roll. It works perfect to reactivate the adhesive. Tape worked as it should, stuck but released easily.

@@BackroadDriver that's really true. I have a '13. I'm going to have to see if I have lines like yours to follow.
We followed the line in the middle but made our own path on the side with the tape. Make sure to leave a good 1/4 inch on the sides for strength. Did you see the toe hook video we put out last week?

I literally did this on my floor last night. Some pro tips are buy two inch and a quarter tape. Thatâs the perfect width. Also I used a pair of long handle Midwest vinyl snips . Way easier cutting and no ruff edge from jig. Still ran a file down edge though. Then I put back on.

Definitely like the trimmed look better, just looks more finished. That and the hooks are my next mods.

I just discovered your channel. So far I like what I have seen and this air dam mod is a pretty slick one. I just installed a bull bar on my 2019 f150 xlt 4x4 and I believe on my days off I may give this mod a try. Also, y'all are Loudon County, I'm from Cumberland County.

Is that an aftermarket grill on the white F-150? That thing is awesome!
It is aftermarket. Got it off Ebay. I've had it for well over a year and it still looks brand new. The finish on it is OEM quality for sure. Search for gloss black F-150 grill. I got the white LED 3 light option on it and it looks like only the amber lights are available right now. Can't post links on here or I would send you straight to the part. I did not purchase from the same seller but the current seller that has it available is skwoffroad. It will reuse your factory emblem so if you want it to be gloss black and whatever color your truck is you'll need to order custom emblems as well. I ended up wrapping the chrome on my factory emblems and ordering aftermarket emblems to get rid of all of the chrome so depending on what your factory grill and emblems looks like you may need to do the same.

@@BackroadDriver Sorry to revisit this again, but I was wondering what you used for the white piece under the grille? It looks like when that grille is stock that section is the same color as the rest of the grille and itâs recessed, but yours is white and flush? Did you fabricate something custom?

what do you recommend using to cut the air Damm if you don't have a cutter like you used??
Tin snips may work but idk how nice of a line it'll leave. U can use a cut off wheel, Jigsaw, oscillating multi tool. Probably many other methods as well. Just test it on a part that's going to be scrap anyway. Whichever gives you the nicest lines. Use it..
I would say I like Bradâs because that is the exact truck that I would have if I had a 18+ I currently have a 15 Lariat I love what I am seeing there; I just donât like ecoboosts it is not my thing to have my truck âsound like a pissed off bumble beeâ as Mitchell Watts would say so Bradâs I guess

I just took it off you cant see the clip or holes or anything ow unless your walking up to it on your knees. Plus with it on the holes me be covered but you got bolts showing
I removed mine and according to the trucks mpg gauge, Iâve lost over 3 mpg.
