That's the perfect narration but we the young unmarried men are the victims of our own societal norms that until you are financially independent no one's gonna give their daughter to us. @Battle Ignorance I've a question! I'm in relationship with a girl from another religion for nearly three years. She have decided to become Muslim, I'm teaching her Holy Quran, way of Wadhu, Ghussal and some other basics of Islam. We both have decided to marry after our studies are completed (4 to 5 years) later. Is it Haram that we are in relationship, or should we have Nikah? and I want you to clarify that is it allowed to take her in Nikkah before she know all the things about Islam like how to offer Prayers etc.
You should go ask your local imam.
But as a brother from deen, I will give u my knowledge. It is indeed haram relationship, especially 5 years till u want marriage?! Dont do that, in those years u opening the door for the devil.
I assume you are a man. In islam men are allowed to marry non muslim women. Therefore, do the nikkah, make it halal. You dont need to live together as the imam in this video stated.
Interesting video. Thats a good point of view you have there, very reasonable. Are most marriages "planned or forced" by the parents? What are you doing if you dont like each other, can you just break up? Also, what does "halal" in a relationship mean? Thanks! Just curious.
Hi there, halal relationship means having relations with each other after marriage. And haram relationship means having relations before marriage which is not allowed. The reason behind this is that anyone, either the girl or the boy can back out and leave the other person and never marry them. Anything in Islam that's haram and prohibited is because that thing was harmful or bad for us. This is the reason we cannot have girlfriends or boyfriends. Second, most marriages that are cuz of parents are arranged. Parents can NEVER force marriage, whether they're forcing it on their daughter or their son. A forced marriage is invalid and null. In other words, it's pure rape. If your parents are forcing you to marry someone you don't wanna marry then they'll go straight to hell and you're allowed to run away from home and marry whoever you like (just make sure they're really trusted) even after the paper signing is done cuz you never agreed to marry in the first place. And if your parents want you to marry someone and you're genuinely ok with it, then everything's fine :)
Also, we have to pick our partners wisely. We have to see how will they treat us. And if someone should their true nature after marriage meaning if they seemed like they love you and after you marry that person and then they started to abuse you then yes you have to give them divorce. Now, if they're rude with you and shout at you for no reason, you gotta talk to them, tell your family and talk to their family and sort things out and he has to correct his behavior. And if he goes beyond shouting and being mean, if he started hitting you and beating you, you have to give divorce and separate from him. Once your separated, you can't be together again. Now there's a period of 90 days called iddat. When divorce is given, iddat starts and during this period, neither the man nor the woman can marry another person. If they sincerely regret being separated from each other and they both want to be together again, they can be together if the iddat is not completed but once the time ends, u can't be together.

You are NOT allowed to do such a dangerous and stupid thing. Your parents shouldn't be forcing you but you just suggested a way worse idea.

He had pretty sound Islamic advice, and for you to render it all “the worst advice” because of that one comment is shallow. Where is your evidence that running away from forced marriage is not allowed in Islam? Do you have any proof from the Quran or Sunnah? If it doesn’t mention anything against running away from a forced marriage in the Quran or Sunnah, then you are wrong and you should delete your comment or apologize.

Ah 35 is not old! you can look for a spouse and get married! My aunt got married at 32 years old to a man that's older than her! But Alhamdulilah she's so happy in her new house and her new life!! Yes sometimes it's practically looked down upon in the society especially when it come to girls when they age a bit, from where i belong!
But that's not problem one should take personally, if it's the people that's keeping you away and telling you you're old or something don't listen to them!!
And please don't give up. Live a life to please Allah and look for a spouse with a pure intention! May it be easy on you in this life and in the afterlife
