Rolex Milgauss 116400GV is the best Rolex! It has a green sapphire the color of Rolex and has a proud history of being the Rolex for scientists and engineers. A professional tool watch for professionals. A proud history where the 1000 gauss magnetic resistance was one of the first anti-magnetic watches. The 6541 was the official first reference then came the 1019 reference. In the 1960's it lost its iconic lightning bolt seconds hand. It then became discontinued in 1988 and returned to the line up in 2007. This watch will definitely grow on you and may just become your favorite watch.

Love the black dial GV.... it is noticeably thicker so there is a nice wrist presence. The polished center links just makes this a cool looking watch next to the green sapphire. It's so fun to wear, I can't stop looking at it. And when it lumes, the 3, 6, 9 are blue'r and just gives it another dimension. I wish I could wear this out more often but I mostly just pull it out and gaze at it.
I did not like it at first because of the lightning second hand, but it grew on me and now it is probably my favorite Rolex. It is beautiful!

I own a number of Rolex watches that please me greatly. I collected my Z blue milguass last Sunday from my AD. I must say that this watch is special, it's a must have if you collect watches. Will it be discontinued next month? if Rolex pull the plug on this one, the watch will be an instant must have classic. Absolutely fabulous in every way. Best of luck getting one.
I was choosing between âair kingâ, âblack milgaussâ and âz blue milgaussâ. The black milgauss looked nice but I picked the z blue one at the end as I thought itâs more difficult to get the blue one. Itâs growing on me. Looks much better then hyped OP.

I am on the list for the z blue but have not heard back yet and I was wondering if anyone has actually received one from an AD this year. @@RA-lc5ed I think both are different in character. Milgauss is more mature but less than date just. Itâs like tool (professional) version of OP with cool second hand. Air king is more cool and fun watch with bang of your bucks (if you compare as rolex standard). Either one is cool. I will definitely get air king if I have a chance in my collection.

I am hoping I receive that magical call from my local AD this year for a Z-BlueâŠI passed up on a black face Milgauss last summer and Iâm now regretting it. I keep reading about a possible discontinuation of this model and Iâm worried Iâll miss the opportunity to find a new Z-Blue without paying secondary prices.
Had the zblue version, then swapped it for this black and orange combo! Winning!

I tried on the Milgauss today, it is by far the most stunning Rolex I've ever seen, and no video or photo does it justice. You truly have to see it to believe it. The dial/crystal combination is unbelievable. The Milgauss is the crown jewel on the Rolex crown.

I was tossing between the blue and the black. Both are gorgeous. But I picked the black one in the end since the green crystal is more accentuated on the black dial. Plus the patina orange hue at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock complements the orange thunderbolt second needle. Just bought an orange Rubber B strap and swapped the steel bracelet and it looks stunning. With the blue dial, neither the blue nor the orange rubber strap lift the watch up
I've never understood Rolex but I would own this watch it is beautiful and just quirky enough to not take it self too serious.
I love that this watch not only looks outstanding but also has a real purpose.

It's crazy how this watch grew on me. I'm going to get one but since I will buy it as my "everyday watch", don't you think that the black dial is the best choice? Don't get me wrong, the blue dial definitely looks fantastic too but it might not be a good fit with all colors of clothes. And since I already have a lot of "colored" watches such as the Hulk, rose gold YM, etc. I think that the black dial is probably the best choice for me. Any recommandation would be greatly appreciated as I'm really scratching my head around to make a choice :)

I opt for the black, not a fan of sunburst dial, whatever colour it may be. Also the black matt dial, much like the 4 digits divers which give a more muted looks which i d much prefer.

My dealer was telling me that a lot of celebrities began wearing this watch as it was considered to be a âeveryday trash around watchâ he said this started a trend with this watch and they suddenly a lot more people where into them as they then became very cool. Iâve always loved this watch as someone who loves science and has created a career in medicine, this watch speaks to me.
I have a V serial GV milgauss and the orange 3, 6, and 9 indexes glow green instead of the blue seen in the video. I believe that the earlier black GV dials used superluminova for the orange markers instead of chromalight.
Correct, thats what i got as well. Wont pass it up for the newer blue dial, never.

Have the black discontinued one with clear crystal (non GV) - and the etched logo in the crystal.
I finally tracked one down, my new explorer I took a 5ft fall face first on ceramic tile, I was expecting the sapphire to be busted it slammed to loud , but no the number 6 popped off . Easy fix but Iâm going to trade up for the green sapphire Milgauss , similar but much more interesting

I'm with you on wishing it was all brushed... or, at least had more brushed surfaces than high polish. I would love to see something new that looks like their earlier milgaus models. However, I've noticed Rolex rarely looks back.. at least they never really do reissues or revivals.. I suppose they always evolve forwards and rarely look back.. I suppose they can get away with that as their designs are so classic and solid, they don't need to really change much if anything. Still, it would be nice to see old designs brought back to modern specs. But, anyways... this is all academic as I know I'm never going to get a Rolex the way they are these days and foreseeable future. Still, fun to discuss and talk about as that's about.
Yes but you never know. The explorer going back to 36mm is maybe a sign of some type of 'looking back'

Honestly speaking I think most Rolex watches including the submariner are one of the most plain looking watches of the bunch and cant understand why they're so sought after(not talking about their $1million diamond encrusted stuff) but this Milgauss actually looks quite nice. Wouldn't mind seeing a gold 2 tone version

I was not a fan of it first. Didnât like the lighting bold second hand either. Caught wind it might be discontinued so I impulsively bought one for investment purposes. Once I got it I fell in love! It is gorgeous and comfortable! Almost scared to wear it even haha

In 2007 the green crystal was released so thats when the black came out. But you could still get clear as well. 2014 was when the z-blue came out with the green.

Itâs weird they put an extra magnetism case to cover the movement, but the top side is still just sapphire and a dial magnetism canât go through sapphire?

When I was offered this milgauss it took me about two seconds to say yes.
2 seconds too long!
Having owned three Milgauss they all have faults - the Z-Blue you can't read the dial in certain light, the GV the green glass reflects too much and they all scratch very easily. None of them really suitable for a daily wearer which is what I bought them for and the current price of around ÂŁ8k is daft. Buy a Tudor if you want a decent watch at a sensible price. Buy a Rolex if you want to trade them and make money.
